I used your cleric of Tiamat build on my evil durge playthrough. As a noob to CRPG this channel has really helped me a lot. Thanks for all the work you do man
I'd go different way for Strength. Start with 17, Hags Hair for +1, then in Act2 if you bring Astarion along get the +2 Potion of Strenght. With one ASI you are at 22 Strength early/mid Act2. This leaves the gauntlet slot open for different stuff for bonus damage, leading to Legacy of the Masters in Act3 for +2 Attack Roll and +2 Damage, sold by Dammon. You still can respec and dump CON with the amulet for distributing some points into the rest for saves/rolls.
I did a build with 5 lvls of warlock for that 3rd attack. Worked well. Eldritch blast is a nice ranged option when not raging, and hunger of hadar is always good.
Thanks for this, man. I tried it out and I had a lot of fun kickin' ass. I was on Balanced though. I'd like to try this build on Tactician after I wrap it. Thanks again.
I enjoyed this! I have mixed feelings about the throwbarian just from a role-playing point of view. It is tough for me to see Karlach deciding to learn how to lock pick when she can just smash things. I kind of like six barbarian, followed by six fighter. You do miss out on the bonus action, but you get one more feat and a few more hit points. 5 Barbarian / War Cleric 1 / Fighter 6 is one I have been thinking of trying. Three feats, the War Cleric’s once per long rest bonus attack, and action surge. Plus some decent support spells when not raging.
Why 6 Barb/6 Fighter? Why not 8 Barb/4 Fighter? You don't really get anything at Fighter 5 & 6. You at least get feral instinct at Barb 7 and still get a feat at Barb 8.
I haven't yet finished the game (I keep starting new builds, but I have at least made it to Act 3 on one of them!), but I have yet to really use Karlach or Will, so this build will be my Karlach playthrough and I can go with her, Wyll, Gale, and Shadowheart. Should be a lot of fun.
I like comboing barbarian and monk because evasion + wild heart bear rage=improved evasion that works on everything, plus theres things like tavern brawler that turns your punches into hammers of power and the free mobility
@@Jabberwokee it doesn't really matter, but as with most martial classes you wanna get 5 in one or the other, if you're gonna run low Dex then go for Barb first for the extra low ac tankiness with rage At the end of the day the level spread isn't super important, once you have both evasion and bear rage going you become very hard to kill and still do respectable damage (by end game I have 8monk 4 barb usually because monk isn't front loaded) I also focus primarily on strength con and wis, ac isn't as important when you're halving everything and have good hp, the wis adds to unarmed damage and stun effectiveness
Nice build. I ended up doing a similar one for Karlach in my run through as a lot of martial classes fall off after 5 so you can mix and match Barb, Fighter and Rogue for lots of builds.
Finishing my first play through. Over 400 hours. Yes, I am taking my time and then some. I think I will use this build for a Karlach run. Best girl deserves the best chance to smash all the things. Thanks for your videos, you are doing great work.
@@MortismalGaming It’s not, I’ve played tabletop for a long time and never had a player actually make a throw build. From time to time the barb will throw a table or a player at a monster usually in a panic, but that’s about it.
Idk, I prefer the gloves of the growling underdog to using reckless attack because of the whole "enemies get advantage against you" thing. If you're early in the turn order...
I’ve become a big fan of your channel. I enjoyed this video. I would be interested to know what you’ve done with some of your companions. I’ve been struggling to balance lore accurate (or close proximity too) characters with functional ones. Specifically Jeheria. One of the down sides of a 4 person party vice the more traditional CRPGs.
halberds have more of a horizontal slashing animation, and I think Glaives do as well. Spears have a poke. Swords, axes, and hammers I do believe all have the overhead smash when two-handed.
Hey Mort, long time viewer. I know you're going to do a solo tactician build, any hints as to how to design one of those? I really want to solo the game
Abuse invisibility items/spells/abilities, focus on huge hits. My current plan is to use DURGE since they get the invisible on kill cape with a gloomstalker/ranger build but we'll see how it goes.

Yes another build video! I hope you'll do more of them! I've loved every build of yours so far!

Ya but then you cant romance Astarion so no thanks
@@bobbobby475 actually you still can romance that vampire
I love that you post in the morning because I get to watch while I’m starting my day lol
Finally! I love barbarians and have been waiting for this build video!

Can't wait to see your 100% for this! I'd love to see a DURGE build that utilizes the cape... maybe a gloomstalker / assassin hybrid.
Thats kind of what I had in mind for a solo run

This is my exact build lol. At first, I was going to go Barb9/FITR3 but a Thief Astarion made me realize how good having two bonus actions would be.
I enjoyed this!

@@yaniv151 good point.
I like adding in 2-5 Paladin for smites. She basically swears an oath of vengeance on gortash anyways.

How would you level this?
Like Barbarian 1 then monk then Barbarian again?

@@YtinasniiableI wanted to make a Barb-Monk for my next character so cheers for the info 😂
i like how you made a Dribbles snowman in your inventory
It helps me keep track of him and what parts I haven't grabbed yet on each playthrough

Barb 10-11-12 are really disappointing i just do 9 and 3 fighter
This is a fun one!

No Tavern Brawler for throwing?
For me it was the throw barb that got my attention, as this game has far more verticallity and iteractions it really funny.
I went the barb monk thrower build on momma k, it was a fun build, but probably wouldn’t do it again. I like this build for a classic smasher.
Yeah I know people love the throw build but that just doesnt feel like a barbarian to me tbh

I usually put these builds on my companions when I try new things on the main avatar, so Jaheira I use that druid build I made for instance
Ok ok just going to drop a build, you know we are waiting for that sword Saint Bard
Gonna do a bard, and whatever I wind up using for a solo run eventually
Rouge 2, +stalion aspect is overpowered. You cant die because you get dash on bonus action.
Do a swords bard build that uses two hand crossbows
abt the usage of armor, I actually prefer for my barb to be unarmored so that the ai sees the lower ac and attacks them instead of my mage
I'd be interested in your bard specs
Release your inner Conan!
How to murder hobo proper. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.
I like giving Karlach 2 levels of Paladin as well to smite things 😂
Do more builds!
Does every two-handed weapon do the exact same melee attack animation (downward chop) every time in this game?

@@MortismalGaming Thank you so much! Sorry I missed the reply. Gonna try this now
Great I thought you would stop posting BG3 build guides
2 more at least
The only Barbarian build I want is a viable dual wield build >:)
This is my normal Karlac build. Minus the respecs.
BG3 100% when?
Hopefully this month, still need a few more playthroughs which all the new releases are slowing down
👌

Review when?
Gonna be a bit still, need to do a few more playthroughs which is being slowed down by new releases
