Welcome back!!!! Great video, Dinoland as it is needs to go forsure lol. Missed this channel so much! Please bring back posting regularly if you are willing & able 🙏
I’ve never been to Japan so I’ve never ridden this, but like you, it has become one of my new favorites. If only Disney would listen to your suggestions! But at least we can dream…
Ahh, Man, Jordan…in a different part of the Multiverse, another version of me would be really excited seeing this, as he is less than three months away from being able to see this in person….Alas, since our dream trip had to be delayed at least another year, I can only sigh and hope against hope the world allows us to travel soon
I will hope along with you. Perhaps, that timing is more ideal? (Considering the 'expected' opening of Fantasy Springs next year.) That whole journey, whenever it happens, will be one of a lifetime I'm sure.
I just visited Tokyo Disney Sea for the first time a few days ago. This attraction captured my heart instantly, and I ended up riding a total of 3 times throughout the day as I truly don’t know when or if I’ll be lucky to ever return. I needed to experience it enough that the memory would last. Disney Sea is a gem of a park, on a scale that the Walt Disney Company will never match because they prefer cheaper alternatives 🤷♀️ I absolutely love your ideas here and hope Disney might bring them to life! Other comments have mentioned the subtle rain during the storm scene and the banana scent which both really surprised me the first time around, but what also really made this attraction epic was how large the rooms all were, so dynamic and full of life! I’m from California but I would fly to Florida in a heartbeat to be first in line at DAK if this came stateside. Chandu is also hands down my new favorite Disney character 🐯 and I wish I bought more merch 😭 Anyways thanks for this wonderful video, you put into words the experience so well I can say as someone who got to see it firsthand. I hope you someday get to visit Tokyo!!!
Omg this is would be perfect, it's a no brainer 😍 I've been desperate to ride Sinbad and go to Tokyo Disneyland for YEARS! I love Dinosaur, but Indi would be a perfect alternative for that area. It just makes all the sense and would utilise that area of AK far better!!
I love the idea but I’m a big fan of parks having their own unique rides that act as a destination. We hear a lot of people saying about the replacement of Dinosaur with Indy, but why would we wanna replace something unique and exclusive with something amazing that can be experienced exclusively on the other coast. I feel like a lot of the charm of Sinbad is that it is this huge exclusive to Japan grail attraction. Great video btw love the points made and analysis of the attraction! Don’t get me wrong I’d love it in DAK, I just love Dinosaur too much and feel is an attraction we need to protect.
It's true. It's kind of my passh*le mentality talking there. WDW is my home park, so I'm really jealous of a lot of things in others. Especially the ones overseas... which are realistically, much more out of reach for me. Dinosaur is great, but Indy is a clear winner for me. In reality, the best case scenario, would be to really refresh Dinosaur. Add in more dinos and sets to look at and remove the moments of extended darkness, make it the stand out attraction it once was. Something to make the Indy comparisons... EXTINCT.
I agree, also Disney is thinking about replacing Dinoland USA with a “Moana” themed land, with a “Zootopia” ride replacing Dinosaur. “Zootopia” perfectly fits into Disney’s Animal Kingdom because the movie’s characters are animals but “Moana” is more about a human culture that coexists with nature. So EPCOT is a perfect place for a Moana themed attraction, (which they already have), because EPCOT deals with humanity coexisting with nature while Disney’s Animal Kingdom on the other hand is about ANIMALS and their role in nature, while looking back on the animals of the past. So a “Zootopia” themed land would be perfect, but in place of Rafiki’s Planet Watch. Because nobody’s going to miss that area any time soon. As for Dinoland USA, keep Dinosaur & replace Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama with dinosaur themed attractions that can excite more people into visiting that part of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Only Jordan could get me hyped to want to ride an attraction that he himself hasn't even ridden. I am all in on this idea though. Has ol' Bob returned your calls with a date for the groundbreaking ceremony yet?
Bob Iger? Bob Chapek? Bob Gurr? Bob Burgers? Bob Vila? Bob McFerrin? Bob Ross? Bob Evans? Bob Hoskins? Bob Uecker? Bob Newhart? Bob Denver? Bob Costas? W Harding biographer, Bob K Murray? Bob Dylan? Bob Fett? Bob Bopaloobamawompbamboom? Wait. Actually... no Bob has contacted me, so the above questionnaire is irrelevant.
Do you Think walt Disney World sees your video i hope they do so maybe they can look at it if it,s a good idea for new land country Arabien coast and sinbad,s storybook voyage Dark boat ride
It really does. Though, it would certainly necessitate its own pavilion. If it warrants Sinbad, I think I could get down with a Saudi Pavilion. Otherwise, I need some Encanto in my IPCOT and must prioritize Columbia.
This ride is awesome but makes little sense in AK. The ride is about friendship, goodwill and kindness. I’d love to see them make something new! An original attraction!
It’s an incredible ride, absolutely. High quality video, as always. But, thus ride had very little to do with animals, and really doesn’t belong in Animal Kingdom.
Thanks, Rob! I'd argue that Na'vi River Journey, Expedition: Everest, and Primeval Whirl (May it RIP) had less to do with animals than Sinbad does, more so, they spotlighted aspects of the cultures and folklore of its respective area. That's where I think the presence of Sinbad in a Middle East area could work. But you're right that the focus is not exact and while I wish Disney would let/fund Imagineering to create some truly original animal-centered dark ride experience, I think the higher-ups are just okay with the cut-and-paste method right now. Sadly, I think they're okay with the picnic tables.
Hi,l Think your comment is good l also hope that walt Disney World might want to make sinbad,s storybook voyage Dark ride, l Think it,s a fantastic boat Dark ride, but we,ll have to see what they come up with in The dinoland usa area where l hope it Will be Arabien coast and sinbad,s storybook voyage Dark ride
Sir I have missed you and your beautiful story telling.... I really like this idea except this would fit better in Epcot in the World Showcase. If this had to go in Animal Kingdom in Asia since that is the continent this is based in. Now if we are trying to re-theme dinoland... I hate to say but zootopia makes the most sense, but let's say that's off thd table completely, what then? Let's take your idea or borrowing a Disney Sea attraction and tweak it slightly. Journey to Center of the Earth, the original book contains Dinosoars already so we modify the ride to include large dinosaur animatronics and encounters in addition to the famous lava monster.
I would certainly not argue a spot for Sinbad in EPCOT. But short of building a new pavilion, there's no relevant spot for him. I'd be all in for Imagineering adapting a new story to tell in this specific style, though. (I might even be more for that, actually. Surely there are thousands of relevant country-specific folk tales to be told from and throughout EPCOT's attraction-less pavilions.) As far as Animal Kingdom, I'm a dark ride purist... but I could be persuaded against that (and even Dinoland) to see AK with a pair of epic mountain coasters side by side. Especially with the inclusion of many (WORKING) animatronics.
@Happy Place Explorers as one of the lucky people to have gotten to see the yeti in all of it's working glory.... it was spectacular and a day I will likely never forget. But I certainly cannot argue against a good dark ride, a genre that is severely lacking in AK because let's be honest... Navi River is kind of boring... too many screens and one great animotronic. But You know what area is the least visited in the park? Rafiki's Planet Watch... you know what takes up a large plot of land? Rafiki's Planet Watch... that is where we put our Animal Kingdom dark ride, that is where an original story with little to no space limitations can be developed. I want to make an offer, we collab and design an entirely new dark ride to occupy that plot of land, and then pitch it to the big mouse himself. Jordan Jr we are gonna be imagineers!
I too am blessed to have been one of the few to have seen the illusive beast in full swinging motion. He got this close to my face.... I'm fortunate to have survived. You're absolutely right. The Planet Watch is hurting for something... Firstly, a second way to get there. If I could walk there instead of having to wait for the train, I'd likely visit there more often. Secondly, you're correct, an E-Ticket. Here's the pitch... Something Animal Kingdom has always lacked is a focus on water. Yes, EPCOT has The Living Seas, so this may be a bit redundant. The Seas has a loose focus on science and research, which has mostly been clouded by the introduction of Nemo, a ride I admittedly enjoy. However, in Animal Kingdom, with the broad scope of 'Water', we can go way past a simple sea base. We can explore beyond oceans into rivers, lakes and fjords. While The Seas is crystal and pristine, Water will be rough, rustic, and natural. For the E-Ticket, we must strangely look back at the origins of The Living Seas and its original concept which was much grander. A heavy dark ride about the mythical Poseidon. We will borrow this concept as we fuse that sentiment with the ride system for Shanghai Pirates: A boat ride that simulates plunging to the depths and meeting face to face with its strange residents. In Animal Kingdom, our journey will be more grounded. We'll sail out of a tributary and out upon the vast and raging ocean where we'll take eventually be swept into the chop and under the sea. Along the way, we encounter an abundance of true-life and audio-animatronic creatures. Animatronics will bring to life creatures of the deep that could never be seen by casual theme park goers, and perhaps we'll meet a towering interpretation of the sea god himself. Expert lighting and delicate projection techniques throughout the entire expereince will seal the overall affect. Animal Kingdom offers adventure but fuses it with an idea of conservation and consistent learning through exploration. When I think of modern day exploration, especially in regards to the earth's oceans, I immediately think of one person... and he already has a presence in Animal Kingdom. That man is James Cameron, confident filmmaker and perhaps a more fervent ocean explorer. James Cameron will the be the crux of our Animal Kingdom water journey. He will serve as our tour guide as he presents a new kind of water vessel science has developed that makes underwater exploration easier than ever before. He'll narrate (or maybe take AA form) the attraction, offering insight on things true and perhaps a bit fantastical. Of course, exploration often supplies a few surprises and maybe together we'll learn and see something no one has yet discovered. James Cameron, himself, will help us with this attraction. And vice versa we will help him. He will give us content and expertise to base this story around. And we will encourage him to go big and help him not rely on screens and an overuse of CG effects... It's the James Cameron: Journey of Water... Only in Animal Kingdom. Fall 2025. ... .... Okay, no... No. That's not it. But we're getting closer...
