- Sindbad's Storybook Voyage is a boat voyage dark ride at Tokyo DisneySea, inspired by the story of Sindbad the Sailor. The attraction features the song "Compass of Your Heart" composed by Alan Menken and sung by Kenji Sakamoto. Originally titled Sindbad's Seven Voyages, the earliest version of the attraction had a darker tone and no song. The attraction was subsequently restyled, and the current version opened in 2007.

I was there about 2 weeks ago, and there was this man behind me singing the entire time. He sang so beautifully, and with so much passion I actually started to cry. By the end of the ride, I told him ( in the best Japanese I know) that I loved it so much. He and his friend laughed and gave me a thumbs up. My friend laughed at me. Haha

I am 52 - I’ve been going to Disneyworld since I was 2. I’ve got Disney in my DNA. THIS ride is one of the most epic things I’ve ever experienced. That’s a big thing to say. I’ve seen country bears, pirates and carousel of progress in the 70’s as young kid, I’ve seen figment as a 12 year old…even can throw in rise of the resistance recently…THIS ride was MOVING, detailed, special and left you feeling so great you couldn’t wait to tell everyone you know about it. No IP, no broken animatronics, no burned out lights or broken set pieces (and these sets are HUGE). It brought back feelings like the first time walking into EPCOT in 1982.
All Disney imagineers and corporate members need to take a trip and experience this ride.
I will never get this song out of my head.
Compass of Your Heart?
This is simply the best single ride ever! It has a WOW factor that cannot be found anywhere else...
I am so glad that I tried it before knowing what to expect. I like trying from mild to wild rides, but this experience goes beyond that.
I did it 3 times (maybe I should have done it more...): the 1st time I was being surprised at each scene, the 2nd time I took the opportunity to enjoy more deeply the story and the 3rd time, just before the park closed, it was the perfect VIP experience ending for the day: alone in the boat I was fully immersed in it ... I felt like an additional animatronic :-).
Every and each single animatronic is so perfectly coordinated, the story speaks for itself and the music is amazing (even if I could catch only few words...).
And the best part: you ride much more time (+10 min) than you wait (-5 min): usually is far away the opposite!!!
Before leaving I had to buy a tiger toy (he is so cute!!!) and today I am listening to all videos I can find in TH-cam about it :-).
Please give it a chance: this is what any ride experiece in a disney park should look like ;-).

I just got back from Tokyo Disney and this was one of my favorite rides across both of the parks. I would die for Chandu.

It’s been exactly a week since visiting DisneySea. This ride along with Soaring were my favourites ❤❤❤
We had plans to go to Japan this year, but circumstances prevented it. If we ever get there, I would love to see this attraction in person. So colorful and enchanting. The skies and the elephants are gorgeous! I only wish that some of the scenes with other animals🐪🐫🐑🐎 were a bit brighter. This is the very best version on TH-cam!
Edit: I cannot stop singing it, especially after I found the English lyrics and an instrumental version😊🐯🍌🍌🐘🐳🐣🦅.

@@JustinCoasters the main reason was that back in the states, imagineering received major budget cuts and their whole ordeal became do half a park so they could save money which of course doesn’t sit well in the service industry. Customers can usually tell if they’re being shortchanged. That’s why DCA and Hong Kong had such low attendance at first
I'm Japanese and I ride this attraction every time I go to DisneySea. I myself like this attraction the most in Tokyo Disney Resort. Listening to "Compass of Your Heart" when you are having a hard time will give you great energy. Everyone, please try riding it!
Same here even though I'm not Japanese I'll ride this ride whenever I am at disneysea, too bad Im going back there when fantasy springs open this year and the ride will be on scheduled maintenance 😢😢😢
Das ist eine wunderschöne,perfekte Disney Attraktion,da passt alles zusammen! Die Figuren sind süß und bewegen sich toll,alles ist passend beleuchtet.

Want a ride where you can just sit back and relax. This is ride for you. Its has pretty much no queue. It's normally instant but you at worse you have to just wait for 5 minutes. Guess broadway show work but good luck with timing window.

@@JustinCoasters EPCOT can't afford this ride. The Grand Fiesta Tour ride is just a bunch of screens. WDW can't afford to build an expensive ride like this nowadays with dozens of sophisticated animatronics.
@@CyberTrons3124 that movie was made by Dreamworks, and only god knows why it failed. I love that movie. Not the best animation movie ever, but 100% better that any crap disney has being creating the last 5 years. It has a good story, nice and funny characters( Sinbad is great, funny, brave, loyal and charming; while the princess is cool and brave) and the moral about friendship and to have faith on your own is good. Dreamworks have really good animation movies, better that disney sometimes.

Why is this not in EPCOT?
The only pavilion it would fit in is Morocco and even that's a bit of a stretch. Sinbad is from Baghdad.
@@eaj626 Aladdin is in Morocco and he's from the Middle East. They also serve Kebabs and Hummas which isn't Moroccan.
There are 2 Sinbad rides in East Asia. One is from Tokyo DisneySea Japan, and the other is from Seoul LotteWorld South Korea.
I thought the ride was going to be over about 15 scenes too soon
I wasnt aware AT ALL that this Version of sinbad even existed as a Disney IP!!!!

Because WDW is too cheap to afford it. Navi River Journey is just a bunch of screens with one Animatronic. No way WDW would afford this ride nowadays with dozens of animatronics.

More like best ride ever made! You really think Superstar Limo, Triceratop Spin, and almost anything else at Florida is better than this? This is amazing!
This is the most horrible ride. Don't waste your time. Couldn't wait for it to end. Terrible!!!!
