I absolutely love Dark Mane and his two brothers ♥️. I hate to see Dark Mane without his brothers so often but it seems to be working out for him. Both prides are always in my prayers 🙏🙏🙏. All those battle scars on his face....True warrior. He’s done a great job protecting his pride.
Supposedly Dark Mane was seen with Blondie back in January. And just last week he was spotted with Mohawk. They had a tense meeting as each, I think, initially thought the other was a stranger but once they recognized each other they calmed with Mohawk flopping down behind Dark Mane for a nap.
@LutzDeluxe2 That’s such great information to me! Thank you for letting me know! Did anyone get a chance to video their brief family reunion? I’d love to see it. I love all three boys and want all 3 to thrive with their prides. It’s been great to see both prides with their cubs growing into sub adults this last year or so. I’m so glad they met up however brief it was at least they had an opportunity to reaffirm their bond.
@@Sammy-kn2nb I agree. I just hate to DM front paw giving him trouble again. His limp wasn’t as a pronounced a few weeks ago. Hope he hasn’t aggravated it again and perhaps was only having a tough day with it similar to people with arthritis who have good days and bad. There’s no footage with Blondie. But there is footage of the meeting with Mohawk on Instagram. I can’t seem to post the link but you can find it on the Avoca Male Lions Fan Page on Facebook.
@@lutzdeluxe2491 Sweeeet! I’ll go check out the fan page! That’s exactly what I was thinking as well with his paw. I’m sure that certain days depending on weather cause his paw to hurt more than it would on other days especially with the long distances they travel at times. I am glad he has been able to keep up with as well. It’s with the lionesses excellent hunting skills that he has had the nutrition his body needed to heal. It’s always a pleasure to see DM walking up to his pride and watching his cubs running up to him just so excited to see their Pops with them. All 3 are amazing fathers! I’ve seen footage of Mohawk allowing his itty bitty cubs to gnaw on a carcass right next to him and then chase away one of the females that try to come near to feed. I do wish though that they had accepted the Menghanie sub adults all those years ago but I understand why they didn’t. It just saddens me when I think about Big Boy finally starting to grow into a beautiful male lion after everything he & his brothers, sisters, & cousins went through only to have his life cut short. All of their lives cut short really. That’s where I had to stop following on a regular basis. It’s such a cruel world out there for them.
This pride of nkumas and Avoca boys are definitely a force. The ladies got the whole motherhood thing going on. Wonderful mother's. Gorgeous ladies. And the boys. Well they say it all. Very strong and dominant. Dark mane is another one who has been thru it. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm stoked he made it thru his injury and moved over to the talamati. Sired more kiddies. They are super strong family. ❣

This pride looks in great shape. I’m happy to hear that Mr Dark Mane is still able to do so well , even with his limp. Do you have any updates on the young b’ham male with the limp? I haven’t seen any videos on him for a little while now.
The Birminghams at this time are all split up. When they all get back together hopefully he will still be with one of the groups. I am guessing he is with the group with the 2 White Lions. they have not been around in awhile.
@@taraduncanson4509 he was in Kruger around Orpens with subadults, recently young white male got separated and was beaten by either other pride or maybe his mothers if he tried rejoin them..
@@taraduncanson4509 read a report the white lion's wounds weren't serious and he's following the pride from a safe distance, probably got beaten up by mama :)
If any can help me find an answer so what ever became of the Dark mane and his two brothers did they just simply say get away form our home go back to yours? Since they are brothers they didn’t try to kill him?
Dark Mane and his brothers Mohawk and Blondie remain part of the Avoca Coalition that dominate the Sabi Sands. They have a large territory to patrol and defend and they split up many times to cover the area. Dark Mane is a bit hampered by his once broken foot that was injured in a Buffalo hunt. He has chosen to stay and patrol the area where the Timavati Lion Pride stays.
@@quieteagle920 I think he’s asking about some reports that he was not greeted too kindly a bit ago when he visited with his brothers. As if they were not agreeable to his return. Have you gotten any new reports about blonde? He had been seen with a bad rear leg injury?
@@FrankieKennethL I wish I had heard something more about blondie. With the Nkhuma Pride not being seen for awhile on Djuma that lessens the amount of information that we hear. I don't do Face Book - there may well be more info there but who knows how valid it is. Lions are very resilient so hopefully blondie can recover from that injury.
