I recently quit my job so I can go around on Facebook and TH-cam giving my unsolicited opinion and arguing with people full time. Hoping to fund this endeavor through Patreon.
I went and checked out a RIdgeline today after watching you review of it. Nice vehicle and surprised how roomy it was even for my 6'4" 225lb self. Even with my small travel trailer I'd be afraid of exceeding the cargo capacity pretty easily and I'm considering getting a bigger trailer this season. Thanks for the review of all the products.
How many of Seth's truck compared to the tacoma u see on the road, the tacoma is far superior on every level,I live in pick up truck land and rarely see a Honda ridgeline
I must say seth, even though you can't ride you're still putting out better content than some mtb channels I follow, and more frequently. Buddy you're doing a great job, get well soon, love from across the pond. Cheers
I recently purchased a Crosstour 4K action cam off of Amazon for $60 + $10 for a 4 year protection plan. There are a ton of Chinese bargain action cams listed on Amazon but I went with this one because it was the only one w/ a good amount of positive reviews (4.4/5 stars from 200+ reviews). The video quality seems great on the few test runs I took it on but I don't have any sort of stabilizer like the Gimbal. At that price I think it deserves a spot on your next product review post!!!
I did not see the comment for it, but you can install the AMS guards with a lightly soapy water. This is a technique used for most quality stickers in the sign industry. While there are professional application lubes, a soapy water does the job. Prevents air bubbles, allows re-positioning, then you just squeegee out the water. I personally use a felt block to do that.
Make more videos about surviving on the road, hacks on your small camper you made or shop building tutorials ( how you made your shop ), money saving hacks are always welcome. Reviews are good too.
So Seth, big fan here, and thanks to you, I can impress people in this small town I in, I dont see many bikes round where I live, so not many people know about what you can do on a bike, but since ive been watching your videos for about a year now, I can do a large bunny hop, manual, jump sh** and a whole lot more, just by riding street, thanks for all the tips man!! Keep making awesome videos!
dude, you're so easy to listen to...im totally stuck in an mtb rabbit hole right now...im so impressed with a used trek i just bought last week bought for 150$ and i cant imagine riding most of the stuff you feature...i mainly just commute 10 miles every day but half of that is like an urban moderate obstacle course...the bike before this was was a crappy trek hand me down that i put 2300 miles on last year...so i put old girl out to pasture and found this other bike which is leaps and bounds above the other one...
Just started on my channel with MTB tutorials in English. Your are a big inspiration Seth, keep up the good work. I try to show the MTB community what works for enduro and downhill riding, hope I can give you guys some tips
my concerns with G-form is that they got gaps, same with a lot of pads, at least the Kali got smaller gaps, but not sure about how they perform, not researched them. a sharp rock can get between the gaps, but for the concrete or asphalt use, they would be ok.
Johannes Nilsen I've got fox launch pros (no gaps, solid plastic front) hit a rock with my knee and cut through the pad and straight into my knee right to the bone 👌
"depending on your needs, it can be totally pointless or the answer to your prayers" that right there is some wisdom the internet is in desperate need of.👍
I use the AMS bike guards. They work great, and like all stickers or decals, you need to start applying in the middle and work your way out to avoid air bubbles.
Hey you! I got you! I saw a video from way back (like 7 years back) that you said that your skateboard lives 100% of the time outdoors. At 00:55 I checked that very same skateboard INSIDE the house resting against the wall. Guess youre taking care of an old man in its late days huh? Hope you still have that board. Just messing with you. Cheers from your biggest fans in Greece. Me (44) and my 12 year old son.
How about a Hip Pack shoot out....There is quit a few out there. I am rocking the $9.99 Walmart outdoor Products one, not bad but I would like to hear your thoughts and see what other ones you can find.. LIVE-LIFE-LOUD!!!
Great video. Cool stuff review. As a sticky guy I'll tell you bubbles happen. Sometimes a wet install with 30% isopropyl to water works great. Use a hypodermic needle or a new safety pin to pop them. Or put clear bra on as a frame protector. If you geek out a little you can 99.6% coverage and nobody will notice. Hope the healing goes fast and smooth.
i do really love victorinox, i got the traditional swiss knife for years, and still kickin asses! but that bike multitool is a little crappy for me....
i have just started mountain biking, whats the best way to stop my chain falling off? and how to prevent chips on my bike frame ? great videos man! watching them mad me start it
Seth, would love to hear back on how the ams guards work out after a few weeks of riding with them. I've recently started doing carbon bike repairs on the side to keep my bike community going and the one thing I notice is that very few bikes come with good, if any, gaurd protection. Chain stay bars and down tubes are my most common fixes. I end up recommending skateboard deck tape to most people or car crash film. Worth the price to protect the valuable asset of a carbon frame. To date, ive rapaired some 15 bikes. Thanks for the good info, Seth.
Adam Dead dude I have that bike and I love it! I added a chain device to add tension on the chain, a couple mud guards and an oversized bottle cage so I can ride to the local brewery and grab a growler.
SAHD again I bought a raptor 14 and use it as my everyday bag since my daughter is potty training its great for all her needs plus water at the grasp of a hand to bad the bite valves are not toddler proof less than a week and its about time for a new one love the videos and enjoy the knowledge I don't have of mtn bike and road bike tech.
The Soft Topper looks good enough for tent type camping. I would be interested to know if it has UV protection and how well it can stand up to highway speeds over long periods of time. Those are only two of the things that can turn something like that into a flapping rag in no time at all.
I have a soft topper with thousands of high speed miles on the back of my Ridgeline. No change in functionality at all. To be honest I have abused it somewhat by stuffing insulation between bars and cover. Still it works fantastic. Only downside is it gets hot in the sun when all buttoned up, but can raise the sides to cool if not raining.
During my many years of motorcycle racing and MTB for training, and currently I am strictly MTB now, during that time and now I have always used Nitrogen for all my tires, especially when I was racing Karts. Have you ever thought of it? I get a 2000lb bottle that lasts forever. I never heard it mentioned, just tire pumps in your shop. Molecules are larger in nitrogen which in turn lose much less air, a lot less in my experience. I have also noticed that, especially in Karting, that the air pressure stays much more consistent in pressure during hot and cold days, just as my MTBs do. Just a thought, maybe you can touch on it some day. Keep up the good work.
There are some interesting integrated multitools on the market, that fit in the hollowtech crank shaft, or into a space, that is usually closed by a top cap (inside a steerer tube, if I named it right)
Seth, you effed up the AMS tape aplication. I had very little problem installing bubble-free, without the need of a heat gun, or mild soap water. That said, It's been a year and a half since your upload here so, maybe they changed the glue. But I then removed the AMS tape and got a full RideWrap kit and installed that. Pain in the butt, but good coverage, and I reused some of the AMS stuff and it had some bubbles after that. Price you pay for good protection...
You could use a U bracket with foam handlebar tape on the inside to make sure you don’t puncture your tire. I have done this and it works great! I highly suggest you trying this.
@@presentfigure92yearago89 My understanding was it make it easier to heal, since the wrist was a complex joint, where as the forarm isnt, making the break cleaner and easier to heal
the fun thing about the Honda ridge line is that its literally a pilot with a bed so it has a lot of the practicality of a small pickup but handles and has the interior of a glorified minivan
Another cheap alternative for the seat covers are the covers that mechanics use. They come in both cloth (breathable but not waterproof) and plastic (vice versa) variants and cost the equivalent of one or two bucks where I live. As for the plastic bike stands, and specifically putting something similar but more suited for MTB tires in your shop; I think a 90 degree angle iron (L-angle? L-iron? Don't know the correct english term but hopefully you get the idea) would work if you just locked the bike in place by placing a bolt through the spokes and the holes in the angle iron. It could of course be rounded off and padded to be gentler on the bike.
MichaelTV44 same, even though they both suck at being off road mountain bike vehicles, i like the ridgline better. And plus tacoma just plain sucks and has no power
The look of the Ridgeline is the only reason that I wouldn't buy it. Personally I think Tacoma's look WAY better but that thing definately has some Rad features!
i like the ridgeline and the Tacoma but i have to say the tundra takes the win mainly because of how spacious it is it had a really large bed plus a 5.7 v8 engine giving it loads of power pair that with the offroad package that you can buy and it honestly the best truck i have ever come accross
There's a product called Clug that is a bike stand just like the one you reviewed, except they have a model that accommodates MTB tires up to 2.5 inches. Just FYI
When you’re installing any type of vinyl decal, sticker or anything like that. Before you do, make a solution of a little bit of dish soap and water put in a spray bottle. Spray the area then apply the sticker and use the squeegee to get all the water in the air bubbles out this will also give you a chance to pull the sticker off and try again. Once you feel like you have it were you want it, just let it dry.
Exos cast!!! It got me back riding a few years back after a wrist break. I suggest using clear hockey tape to reinforce it when riding. I pulled the nylon straps out of mine...
Love the vid Seth, I have the one up version of the tool kit and it is amazing. I also have been using the AMS guards and have been really happy. Going to Amazon right now to get the seat protector...sweet. Keep it up Bro!
Instead of spending 35 on a precut set of AMS guards, I would definitely recommend the ISC racers tape. You can get a 30’ roll for the same price and can cut out any shape you need to fit you bike. It doesn’t come with the cool colors or designs, but in terms of functionality, price and screw-up-ability it likely matches or beats the AMS stuff.
more tight space storage stuff. the helmet hooks might useful on the back door for more storage. working with a space slightly bigger than your old one in Florida. Storing bikes, tools, and a repair stand for rainy days in a 7x7 plastic building. mounting is an art for everything.
The hooks you screw into a wall to hang shovels and such work great to hold a mountain bike when screwed in on the leg of a work table. You would need the heavy duty ones because they are wider and more V-shaped so it holds different tire widths.
Another great feature of the Ridgeline's under bed storage is you can load it with ice and use it as a massive cooler and it has a drain plug for easy ice removal once it melts
Hey Seth, at 3.04 you show your dog jumping out of the car. Have you ever considered buying Sill protectors? They're expensive if you get them from the car dealership but eBay do cut to size ones or ones already cut for your car but a hell of a lot cheaper. I'd go so far as saying they look pretty good anyway and theyll cover any existing scratches caused by the dogs. I have one for the trunk of my estate as I'm prone to just tapping it with the pedals when loading my bike. Really saves on a paint job 🤙
coming back to this video after 2 years. i myself have a 20018 taco and my biggest thing i wish i had on it vs your ridgeline is the folding back seats. my dog is always with me when i go riding and my back seat is WRECKED from his paws. i did buy a seat cover that lasted about a year before i ripped. but i would rather my seats folding up and have a pad for him to just lay down on and not have to deep clean my seats anytime i have more than 2 people riding.
I think you should do a video or two updating us on the camera equipment you use and the editing software you use to edit the video. As you're inspiring a lot of others to create their own channels.
In terms of reliability, Toyota and Honda are both at the top of the list. The Ridgeline gets a lot of crap for being unibody instead of body-on-frame, so people bag on it for not being a "real truck". But the truth is, for someone with no interest in modifying for off road trials, the Ridgeline is just a better choice. The unibody allows for more interior space and the under-bed storage, lets a pickup truck handle like an Accord, it and still provides more than enough towing capacity and offroad ability for most people. Also, the J35 3.5 V6 has plenty of power and comes standard. It's perfect for the average truck driver who daily drives a pickup and occasionally hauls around bikes, some 2x4s, and a boat that's not ridiculously heavy. Unfortunately, most of these people are too insecure about driving something with a Honda badge.
Hey Seth, I just got a new enduro mountain bike and am super exited to really ride it out on the trails. The only problem is, I don't have pedals. It would be awesome if you could make a review vid on pedals and talk about your favorite ones to use and what is best to use for certain types of riding? That would be sick! Thanks!
If you're looking for platforms, just buy some Raceface Chesters. When it comes to platforms, there isn't a whole lot of variety. Chesters are cheap, functional and rock solid.
I love Victorinox products -- the Swiss Tool X is _the_ multitool! -- but for a hex wrench, the Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite is the one to get. I've had one for years, and it's awesome.
Must say thanks on this one, I had spotted those stickers online at one point and was keen on getting them, but the ones I wanted were not in stock. I had forgotten the name and don't use bookmarks, so again, thanks.
This was a great video! I've been looking at the YI's but nobody had been as honest about the video/audio quality. I'll be sticking with GoPro. Thanks!

Those Kali pads look legit. Going to give them a try because my G-Forms NEVER stay in place. :(
Trail Features and also, g forms NEVER protect in a crash 😂
Dude my g-forms have trouble staying in place too. Shame for such an expensive knee pad.
my concerns with G-form is that they got gaps, same with a lot of pads, at least the Kali got smaller gaps, but not sure about how they perform, not researched them. a sharp rock can get between the gaps, but for the concrete or asphalt use, they would be ok.

Love the vid Seth, I have the one up version of the tool kit and it is amazing. I also have been using the AMS guards and have been really happy. Going to Amazon right now to get the seat protector...sweet. Keep it up Bro!
*rings bell* Ding Dong your opinion is wrong
Can opinions be wrong?
Instead of spending 35 on a precut set of AMS guards, I would definitely recommend the ISC racers tape. You can get a 30’ roll for the same price and can cut out any shape you need to fit you bike. It doesn’t come with the cool colors or designs, but in terms of functionality, price and screw-up-ability it likely matches or beats the AMS stuff.
Check out the "clug", they make those same bike stands but have ones from different size tires! I have 2 of them, they are great!
Seth you're so proper. Cruise control set to 65 on the D.O.T. Also, I grew up street racing on Orangethorpe
Got AMS frameguards on my bike!
They are legit! Never had problem with bubbles. Have a ton of them on my bike.
more tight space storage stuff. the helmet hooks might useful on the back door for more storage. working with a space slightly bigger than your old one in Florida.
Good to hear your voice again. Hope your hand gets better and will be riding soon.
Honesty is awesome in reviews, love the channel!!! Thank you
Another great feature of the Ridgeline's under bed storage is you can load it with ice and use it as a massive cooler and it has a drain plug for easy ice removal once it melts
I cant get enough of these!!!!
Yeah thats what I was planning on, I just wanted to see if it was a good idea. Thanks for the help!
Why am I watching Seth I don’t even mountain bike I think it’s cause of the good content😳👍🏽
I love Victorinox products -- the Swiss Tool X is _the_ multitool! -- but for a hex wrench, the Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite is the one to get. I've had one for years, and it's awesome.
I’d really like to see a review of fix-it-sticks... unless you’ve already done it of course! Great videos keep it up!
I looked up those clug road bike clips. They make larger sizes now, you should review those!
Thanks!
