- If you want to win just get a boar and upgrade it. It can basically march through everything if it has been fed. For extra fun add a monkey and some melon armor, a tiger or parrot behind it doesn't hurt either.

@@ChimiMyChanga73 No the boar doesn't. You just have to get far enough. The expansion pack also only competes against other expansion pack users and it would be OBVIOUS if he was using that it has the main units but also some very very different ones at every tier. He's not.

11:55 Instead of combining 2/2 with another 2/2 when you are for sure going to buy the 3rd unit which is a 2/4, it is best to buy the 2/4 first because then you'll end up with 4/6 instead of 4/4. +2 extra hp doesnt seem much but it is a lot especially in early rounds. Thats like 50% extra HP that you're missing.
Well he is still learning. In the last game, he had an upgraded parrot. He sold it and bought again to upgrade it. Its kinda waste of money because he is playing on luck, not some plan. He also had pill that he didnt freeze and got turtle right after next refresh.

tiger effect only works on in battle effects so the tiger would do nothing in that case

similar to the turtle sleeping pill strategy, one of my favorite is getting early tier 3s in round three by fainting spiders. you can use this for a tier 3 reroll in late if you're looking for something specific, but it's also really good if you manage to get a lvl 2 spider, because then when it faints, you get a lvl 2 tier 3

Finally, I’ve been going through dangerouslyfunny withdrawals
I won my first ten trophies. My team was mainly lvl 3 Ox Lvl 1 Snake lvl 2 Dodo lvl 1 Giraffe and lvl 3 Fish. Everything was made to boost something in front or behind which would then boost the Ox. Ox would clear everything and then the rest of the team would finish the rest. Also, I boosted everyone with Apples, Meats or Sushi/other food that randomly boosted x no. Of units. I went full offense in the terms of I didn’t look to mitigate damage because the Ox basically was a buffed tank.

And draws are good! You don’t lose health or gain trophies but you gain money still so use it as a buff or evolve bonus

One of my favorite peacock builds that's pretty easy to get is (lvl 2 giraffe, dodo, peacock, camel) You can't just put a rabbit in the back to make everything beef when you use shop food items, and the giraffe gives to the dodo and the peacock, and the dodo gives to the peacock, if you just focus your manual feeding to the camel and let the giraffe do the rest it can be quite the knock out mid game

There is one thing I really don't like about this game, that kinda makes it feel like a shit-game: they have no endless mode.
It is fine, even fun, to fight against losing from death (preparatory rounds being adequate to survive becomes part of the game). But when I have something good going on, or finally started to get the rolls I wanted, it is extremely aggravating when it just cuts off. The versus-mode is slightly better, as you can intentionally lose 5 lives worth of rounds more, but its also extremely annoying as the round timer is far too long (particularly for later rounds), and sometimes you win by 2nd place not being too healthy when it's just you 2 left. Also feels rather mean to re-roll the start repeatedly if you only get mosquitoes and beavers for the first 2 rounds (the game _does_ give pretty hats for doing that though, so it _is_ encouraged).
Long story short, you never get to assemble a dream team due to there being victory conditions.
endless mode would not work with how the game is designed, because of the 50/50 cap on units (which limits the usefulness of abilities and pretty much anything pretty hard in the lategame anyways). But i'm with you. there are a lot of cool things you could do lineupwise, with a bit more time in each game. Perhaps they could try removing the permanent stat buffs, to make the scaling less of a problem. Then an endless mode could be a lot of fun
@@MrMettwurst96 The reason an endless mode would work, is not because I think a lineup could be improved endlessly (you obviously can't as stuff is capped at lvl 3 50/50, yeah). But because it would give you time to finish a line-up, and see how far you can get it (in terms of whether you can even contend until other finished lineups, and then which ones [maybe scaling up to ones with higher w:l ratios). And it's not sandbox, in that the game would play like usual in terms of gold, unlocking and HP (the whole 15/3 losses and you're out! - with some leniency for first 3 rounds - mechanic), the only thing removed for such a mode is a win-condition.

That victory was the most satisfying thing I think iv ever seen
Try an elephant up front, and a camel and a peacock behind it. Get the elephant to level 2 and super boost it to have lots of health or a melon armor. Every time the elephant attacks it attacks 2 spaces behind it (at level 2) which causes the camel to boost the peacock and the peacock to ALSO boost itself. This setup also works with an elephant with a camel behind it and literally anything behind the camel, only problem with this is a) you can’t get the elephant past level one cause then it just beats things for no reason and b) this requires a lot more boons to the creatures that aren’t the elephant and the camel to prevent them from dying to something like a snake. All in all elephant camel peacock is SUPER fun

I tried that... my setup was:parrot, fly, shark and two sheep with honey... it was SUPER OP. But the downside is... if the enemy passes the shark... im doomed

The trick is to just understand what type of team you want to run. A mob team with flys and sheeps to never end lol, buffer team of Snakes, Giraffes or Fishes or a item/money based team of selling units and using money for items to create a rainbow team of whatever
My best build so far was Monkey, Kangaroo, Peacock, Dromedary, Elephant. It took a long time to get the lineup though, so I was lagging behind by the mid game. I only managed to win 5 trophies. This game is so addictive!

Hi DF. The parrot only copies animals "in" the battle, not in the shop. Putting it behind the Giraffe was ineffective because it does it's +1/+1 at the end of the turn, not in the battle.
Hey DF at 18:30 you should've sold the giraffe and put the parrot there and put the tiger behind the hips
Edit: instead you might've been able to a whale to replace the parrot.

Dude, I love learning so many different startagies in df’s vids
I got lucky and won. Setup was penguin, giraffe powering up a level 2 camel in the front being powered up to absurdity.
Some notes:
- Hold off on upgrading a unit to the next level until you get to the next tier. This will give you units from the tier above the tier you just reached. E.g. cricket level 1, just reached Tier 2 units, upgrade cricket to level 2, get a Tier 3 unit early (and hopefully get lucky)
- Continuous, permanent growth is OP. Penguins if you can get it, and giraffe as secondary. Bison are always welcome, but need to get level 2 at least for OP growth curve.
- Scorpions throw a wrench in plans big time. They can be countered by armor though.
- The pure summon archetype is countered by ramp-up and wall too easily. It either ends up creating a monster for the enemy team or splatting on the enemy behemoth. It's fun but needs major balance changes in order to be viable.

I have a strategy that got me 10 trophies, basically mammoth with mushroom, any unit with honey bee, a sheep with honey bee, then a shark with a tiger cub behind it.
Watching this is like me having dreams, this is so chaotic and nonsensical to me, I love it lol
I'm just really interested to see what would happen if you just super buffed one unit with all the support units you can get

I had a Giraffe tiger kangaroo(melon) camel(melon) penguin(either steak or pepper) line up once
Camel buffed the hell out of the kangaroo, which double buffed, and it was getting +3/3 a turn, Carmel had at least 2 rounds, and vs summon builds took a lot to take down, in the last fight my roo had over 80/80(it was gaining +10/+12 per round at level 2 iirc it was +12/+14 last fight as i got roo to 3)

Shark got +8/4 per death, or +51/27(flamingo) threw melon on it, and most my starters took out the scorpions that plague a high damage set up and it was getting the penguin boost every turn
You can make some very crazy builds in this game, I can't wait DF to try the puppy + tyrano on the pay servers
One super buffed unit will become negligible in front of the mighty scorpion (which will instantly kill anything it hit regardless) so it is better to have at least 2 strong units just in case you meet with sneaky scorpion user

You should use the sleep pill more, it triggers on death mechanics permanently. So a turtle will give a shield and a flamingo will buff behind it
