Now I know some of you understand Phase and the rest, but this for those who didn’t. Try your best to understand, because I can’t show you practically.
*_:PHASE:_*
See, this is to make your shake _smoother_ or make the movements _opposite._ For example, as shown in this video, when you use _all the main three components_ to make a shake (frequency, angle and magnitude) it is sometimes not perfect or smooth. Or if according to your clip, the shake isn’t synchronised, you _can change_ the phase to _50_ (for horizontal movements). It’ll make the movements opposite. Eg:- Your clip or image is going LEFT & RIGHT. By changing the phase to 50, it will go opposite meaning, it will go RIGHT & LEFT.
As for vertical (up down), it’s the same.
Now, the counting isn’t just from 0 to 50. There’s obviously higher and lower numbers. Read this carefully. I’m so kind that I’m leaving space for each para so that you can read properly.
Now, when your clip looks almost perfect, but you don’t know how you will make it smooth, this is where this is useful. Change the phase according to your clip, (higher than 50 is fine, don’t hesitate) adding keyframes is optional but with graphs it’ll look smoother. Just ball your eyes out and look carefully at the difference in this video when Nafansan was adding keyframes in phase. You’ll understand the whole concept. Sometimes, or mostly, adding no keyframes is smoother than adding them.
Keyframes in phase are _mostly added when the magnitude is going in descending order (big to small, i.e. 10 to 0)._ Yeah. This is the day when maths is finally a little bit useful apart from the four operations. Who thought someone would give such big explanation for a literal 5 letter word that barely anyone uses? Yeah. We are done with this phase. If you know, you know. Remember please use keyframes when necessary.

Incase this wasn’t enough to make you dizzy, let me introduce you to this thing that only 0.1% people use in the whole alight motion or if this is in other apps too community.
Yeah. Wave: Sine Triangle.
Barely anyone knows why this is. Why wave is? (Avengers, assemble. If you know, you know). Lemme explain it to you.
Normal day, when you are laying in your bed using your stupid phone that you can’t live without, being unemployed, making a _candy style edit_ that took longer than your father coming back with milk and you frickin realise that this thing is smooth. Way too smooth. People would say this is daddy/raw style. This is where wave is useful if you want to make it a little bit linear without taking 5 more decades.
Sine: default setting. This is basically smooth.
Triangle: smooth too but best for candy styles cuz this actually gives you the candy style vibes if you didn’t use the stereotypical candystyle “S/Z” graph.
Done.
