I boil the herb, turns water into mucilage, bottle it and use it as a hair gel. Works beautifully. Slippery elm and flax seeds produce great mucilage as well.

I find this fascinating. And I am a very dry pitta, that has become more dry in menopause and have rosacea. I can never seem to eat enough moisture providing foods or drink enough water, or get enough fish oil. Then i came across marshmallow and i feel like my world is about to crack wide open and bring me back to living. Ive been very stuck in the last couple of years and as a result rigid both mentally and physically. I can’t wait to explore this plant more.

*Like # 480, Subscribed 32.9K Range* Good Work. Informative video on Marshmallow. I've used it on and off and recently started using it again more consistently that before. After about two days of use I woke up the second day feeling very Elastic! I put on some favorite music video and began dancing. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a physically stiff person at all, nor am I some workout guru. I enjoy listening to my body and when it has energy I know how and when to use it. The information in this video is very similar to how I felt and would use those words to describe Marshmallows affect on my digestion while bringing moister to my drying situation. And I was not aware of this "dryness". You don't know what you don't know. Eventually something or someone may bring awareness. Enlightenment is an action. Learn to be pro-active.

This is lovely. I really appreciate this level of information on the variety of components.
One important thing to mention about marshmallow in particular is that it's important to take any neccessary medications at least an hour before ingesting marshmallow - as it does have a thick film that can prevent proper absorption.

You are the only one who exposed me to affinities. I have been self-studying herbs, lots of books on the subject. But, not one of them talked about the specifics of affinities. The fact that they all are widely used for different systems and wide range of illness makes it very difficult to memorize when their is no connecting information of why this herb works for these illnesses of different human systems. Do you have any book or website recommendation for me to use when researching affinity of an herb.

🌟Question for you; instead of drying or dehydrating marshmallow root, could one simply chunk it up and freeze it for use as wanted? Thanks so much!

I add a tablespoon of white Kayro syrup to my 8 oz warm salt water and rinse my nose. I also take guaifenesin each day and it moisturizes from the inside out.
