Think I discovered it in my yard as a free growing plant! Smells like marshmallow.

Thank you so much! I found my plants this year after I reused the potting soil a year or two ago and I guess they weren't dead, just napping 🌱🤣😂... I didn't know what this was until researching tonight, I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was my marshmallow! 😁👍🌿
Now to figure out what the tiny caterpillars are which are streaked horizontal with yellow on the bottom and black on the top... Any ideas what they'll grow up to be?
Guess I'll be removing them tomorrow and either saving them or feeding birds depending on my research tonight!
I'll be posting my video tomorrow where I show it, and I'm trying to figure out what it is! Maybe you could watch to verify it as there are no flowers, when do they flower!? ❤️🌼🌿😂👍🌿🌼❤️

So the leaves and stalks have no use ???

The leaves are also used but maybe for topical inflammation as you might use lady’s mantle leaves. The stem has no use that I know of. The root rocks! Thanks for the question!!

How often should you consider digging your marsh mallow with a rhubarb understory?
Grass wants to come up next to my marsh mallow surrounded by wood chips.
    That's a small plant I have a single plant that looks like it's 10X10

Oh no! That darn grass! The marshmallow loves moisture (thus the name marsh) I think if there is enough moisture it will outcompete the grass but the deer love to eat it. I plant mine up against my rockery.

It seems to prefer cooler marsh areas, has anyone had luck in “the armpit “ in zone 9A? Maybe with partial shade? Our sun gets super brutal but it’s plenty marshy

Hi thanks for the comment! it likes both sun and water but the deer love it :(

I've got 2 marshmallow plants by the side of my house in partial shade, zone 9b. They do good, although they haven't got as big as hers. They're about 2 years old so I'm going to try to harvest this year. It rains a lot and I water when it's dry.
