- A compilation about the best Ford Focus RS/ST accelerations I've filmed so far! I really like the sound that the Turbocharged 2.5L 5 Cylinder produces! Most cars in this video are modified, which make them sound even better! I also spotted some RS500, which referrers to the limited production of 500 units. Besides that the power output has increased from 305HP (normal RS) to 350HP! Nonetheless the ST has the same engine and produces 225HP, but is quite tuneable as well!

that new RS is faster, but those last gen turbo 5s sure sound spectacular...
I just hate the cold start up’s, or when I’m visiting someone and leaving 2am in the morning it’s a bit embarrassing.
The they do sound spectacular, and I bet the new Gens ain’t as enjoyable to drive with their lawn mowing sounding engines lol jk (kinda)
My ST got stolen, but it had a straight through piper de cat exhaust and it sounded like a lambo at high rpm it was amazing.

I'm not too excited about the looks, but I'm so glad these cars exist for the sound alone, as I'm far more likely to hear a Focus ST than an Audi Quattro S1.
Of COURSE we don't get the 5cyl in the US. That would just be too frigg'n awesome for us Yankees to handle.

That engine is the original Audi Quattro format that Volvo bought from Volkswagen group after they seized to use it. Volvo made some subtle changes, but Audi at the core

yeah they are, i bought a 2005 st last week. just check for rust in the arches where the side skirt meets as they tend to rust. Check the oil filter housing as they crack. Check the oil cap for a mayo like substance as these cars can have cracked cylinder liners which is a new engine job but only really happens to cars that are pushing over 300 bhp without a block mod. Also the clutches are inferior so check for slippage
My god the MK2 looks and sound better and in terms of modifying you didn't need to do anything for exterior but for the MK3 what were they thinking the exterior looks so generic and it sounds like a peashooter compared to the MK2, I'm saving up for MK2 RS

You see ‘these’ everywhere..really, where? Very rarely do I see a Mk2 RS, especially in winter..
Are RS's even quick, doesnt even look that quick..
They are quick stock wise mk2 RS 0-60 5.7 secs and the mk3 RS 4.6 secs but the debate being that the mk2 looks far better and has a great noise whereas the mk3 is really quick but the styling is less to be desired

@@danotonic Agreed I see the MK3 and to me it looks plain it looks to similar to the ST but when you see an MK2 RS everyone knows straightaway and it makes you smile, I'm saving up for the MK2
Standing starts are more difficult due to drive train when compared to the awd Mk3.. but roll on performance is excellent. Some Mk2 RS have been mapped and modified to extraordinary numbers! For me, it’s all about the occasion..the looks and the noise.
