As we were waiting to join the track it started to rain! This made it a completely unpredictable session as we all had to get the karts warm and adapt to the track. As the session progressed the rain stopped and the last lap was crucial to get a good grid slot. I left some time out there and after running P2 through the session I had to settle for P6 on the grid.
Shootout (P6 ~ P9) - 00:57
Bad start and opening few corners sent me down the order by several positions. It was then a case of working my way back up as much as possible. Unfortunately I got it wrong under braking into T2 and spun Archie round. The only thing to do was to wait and let him back through, which I did and tried to stay with him to work back through the pack again. Ultimately finishing in P9, poor race from me and also poor best lap time to start the Final
Final (P9 ~ P5) - 16:16
Once again I had a bad start and lost ground plus a position into T1. T2-T3 was very contact heavy around me and somehow I got through it in the same position. At the end of Lap 1 I was back up to my starting position but several kart lengths behind P8. After that the pace was good and I got my way up the order to P5. Sadly that was as far as I got to as Henry was driving a fantastic defensive job to hold me off for the remainder of the race.
