    Not bad... I'd really like someone to take their TH-cam video to the next level though and show us (after their glue has set) just how difficult is it to pull their fabric apart. Perhaps the issue is the glues being used don't really hold well and you're avoiding showing us that fact.

      Truly, I'm a guy who just wants to make a one-off application of a vintage patch to a vintage Levi's jacket for a gift, and I can't believe how difficult it is to find a SIMPLE but *_useful_* 'review'. It's either some fat-ass stay-at-home crafter -- honestly, I mean no offense -- who wants to talk about her arsenal of glues without really giving much practical advice beyond what you could glean from reading a package in the aisle at WalMart, or it's a bullshit glossed-over review -- read, 'advertisement' -- like this, always accompanied by an equal number of "It's shit" and "OMG, the BEST EV-errrr!!" comments that leave a prospective buyer still standing in the middle of the crossroads. As with most 'searches', SEO bullshit tends to yield less-than-desirable results, no matter how descriptive or sparse the query is.
      I'd like to accomplish my task effectively, with reasonable expectation of lasting results, without damaging *_true_* 'vintage' pieces that you can't just dash to the Salvation Army Thrift Store or JoAnn's or whatever other crafter supply haven is out there to replace as a mere 'hobby interest' if something gets screwed up. Oh. I would also prefer to not hang for days, or forever, awaiting a useful reply in a TH-cam comment section. You often get what you pay for, so this is just my 'two cents'. ; ]

      Don't know if this helps you or if I'm too late but I just started mending an old favorite blanket of mine that I refuse to part with. Anyways I'm adding material all the way around bc the edges are coming apart and fraying. I decided not to just sew them together bc it would be completely uneven and I'm not confident patches will work. I pinned the material in place a half inch from the ends and I just squeezed the glue right out of the bottle instead of using a brush and then pressed the material firmly to make sure it stayed. It actually worked but was extremely messy even though u can roll it off ur fingertips after dried. I decided to go buy the fabric fusion tape instead and I lined my material with the tape(it's not double sided) but u press it firmly and I grabbed my hairdryer and heated it up, then peeled the paper back and the adhesive was perfectly set and all I had to do was fold it over to the other side and done! So far so good but we'll see what happens after running it through the washing machine.

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Margaret ... we have found that when it comes to Fabric Fusion, less is more. Often times if you use a lot of adhesive, it will work against you rather than for you because it over saturates the fabric. Try using a small amount of adhesive and pressing a heavy object on top of the rhinestones while they dry (or using clothespins to hold in place). If that still doesn't work, it could be that the glue is incompatible with the fabric. In which case, you will probably want to try an industrial-strength adhesive like Aleene's Super Fabric Adhesive: www.aleenes.com/aleenes-super-fabric-adhesive ... we hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi, can you please tell me how I can get this type of tape off of skin? I used to alter my daughters dress & now there's a piece of tape that came off the dress & is stuck to her back. She screams when I just barely touch it. I tried olive oil & that didn't work. Please help!

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Melissa ... we're so sorry this happened! Our recommendation is to try a product like Goo Gone, or perhaps rubbing alcohol or a non-acetone nail polish remover. Unfortunately, you're going to have to get whatever remover product you use between her skin and the tape, so peeling it away somewhat will most likely be needed. We're so sorry and hope one of these remedies helps. Please keep us posted!

    I want to try a project using a tote bag: but I don't believe the tote would hold up to washing without bleeding out the color ( they are just ordinary tote bags--not expensive ) ..do I absolutely have to pre-wash an item like this in order for your product to adhere? thanks

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there ... You're probably just fine not washing the tote before gluing. We recommend it because a lot of fabric comes with a chemical called "sizing" on it that helps resist stains and wrinkles, etc., while the fabric is in the stores. Sizing can sometimes prevent the glue from completely bonding with the fabric to its fullest potential, but honestly, you're probably okay without washing first. When using Fabric Fusion, remember that less is more, and to apply a small amount to the fabric. You can even using pins or clothespins to help keep the fabrics together while the glue dries. Too much glue will create oversaturation on the fabric and prevent the glue from working. Does this help? Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hey there! I was just wondering if this fabric fusion would be able to work when sticking together 4 way stretch lycra/spandex materials like the sort made from zentai suits. I'm planning on sticking a large strip of lycra/spandex onto a body suit that's of the same material or a costume. Will the fabrics adhesive take well to the material or will I have to take specific precautions? Thanks!

    will it work on tiny holes of a T-Shirt??

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, you can try, but you'll have to fold or pinch the fabric together when you adhere it, so it'll most likely create unwanted folds/pleats after gluing. Sorry about that! Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to repair holes on a T-shirt.

    • @johnkernelle

      Hi John, the tape might work! You can try cutting tiny sections and placing on the backside of the shirt and pulling it together as much as possible where the hole is before sticking the fabric in place. We haven't tried it before! If you do try, let us know how it turns out!

      Hi there ... Fabric Fusion or Quick Dry Fabric Fusion should work just fine with your project! A tip when using Fabric Fusion, less is more, so apply the glue sparingly versus using a lot. Hi, I was wondering if Fabric Fusion could be used to glue down iron-on patches to a denim duffle bag I just purchased? I tried to iron them on and they are not adhering well so I thought glue might be a good alternative and started searching and found this product. If you don't recommend this product, do you have another glue in the Aleene line that would work better? Sewing iron-on patches on to a denim duffle bag is tough on the finger (especially if you don't have a thimble...LOL)

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sybil! Fabric Fusion will probably work just fine to glue a patch onto your denim bag, but if you're looking for another industrial-strength option, Aleene's The Ultimate Multi-Surface Adhesive is also a great one! Here is a link: aleenes.com/the-ultimate-multi-surface-adhesive ... If you use Fabric Fusion, make sure to spread the glue evenly and a good tip to keep in mind is that less is more. Too much glue can oversaturate the fabric, causing a longer dry time or it can affect the overall adhesion. We also recommend that no matter what glue you use, use sewing pins to pin the patch in place on the denim so it won't move while it dries. Clothespins work great too! We hope this helps ... let us know if you have any other questions!

    Does this work for patches to put on jackets

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jayden ... yes it does! We recommend using a disposable paintbrush to brush a light layer of Fabric Fusion onto the back of the patch (too much glue will oversaturate the fabric and might not work as well) - then press onto the jacket. We also recommend using clothespins or sewing pins to hold the patch securely to the jacket while it dries. Then remove when the glue has completely dried. We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions!

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy ... yes you should be able to. With Fabric Fusion less is more, so when you apply to fabric, apply a thin layer or thin line of glue versus a heavy layer or line. Too much glue can oversaturate the fabric and end up not adhering the fabrics together. Once dry you should be able to sew through the layers of fabric. We hope this helps! How to remove fabric fusion from t shirt

    • @TulipColorCrafts
      @TulipColorCrafts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For glue removal, we recommend using either high percentage rubbing alcohol (85% or higher), mineral spirits, Goof Off, or Goo Gone. You can also use 100% acetone, but this can damage some surfaces. Due to this, this is only to be used at your discretion.
