Attempting the Bassmaster Kayak Tournament on the Susquehanna River! (Poor decisions on Day 1)

This trip was all about learning and man did I learn a lot. This river is a special place. Unfortunately, I made one bad decision which cost me big time! All you can do is learn from your mistakes and keep fishing.

No way you could have had a more embarrassing fay 1 than I did unless you were fishing near Danville. Went blind into fishing that stretch ( dumb move) the clarity was terrible, the current was super strong, and the jet boats/jet skis were ripping all around me the 1st day. Decided to hit the junitata on day 2 and had a way better day but couldn't get nothing of size in the yak. You live and learn. I'll never fish another big tournament like that without a good amount of pre fishing done where Im going to fish.

@RobertDanner-p5p we were down below you, and it was not a good stretch. I definitely made a bad decision the first day. Like you said, though, you ljve and learn. I was at least able to do way better day 2. I'm working on that video now!

Thanks for the update! I'm curious, is there a way you could have known that the area was a common jetboat path?

@jcoleman3307 the only way I would have known was maybe if a local had told me. I was not familiar enough with this area to assume that it would be that way. Practicing during the week I never once saw a boat
