    hi! time lapse worked out in the end, so thanks for the vid! :D
    one thought: light output of xenons does fade out with use, so was thinking, if you have xenons for both high and low beam, how about swapping the bulbs (move the ones from high beam to the low and vice-versa) when the ones on the low beam starting to look faded?

    • @E9X330
      @E9X330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hi and low beam xenon bulbs aren't seperate, they are the same bulb on the E90 with a flap in front of then that pivots down when you engage the high beams, plus the H1/H7 next to the xenon

    Nice, I bought the same ones but I didn't transfer the motor I just used the manual adjusters, I was worried about the light output prior to install but they have been fine and the angels eyes added a nice look and are super bright at night.

    I installed these yesterday! Thank you so much for the video... So I have everything installed and made sure everything was working correctly before putting my bumper back on. I leave my lights in auto mode. Started the car at 6am and everything was fine until I moved the shift lever into reverse then boom the CC-ID 295 adaptive headlight control issue but I physically watched the headlights move up and down. Driving to work I noticed that they were extremely high up in the air like lighting the signs on I-95. I made sure the ball to the AFS motor was in the slot. Do you think I just need to adjust the headlights manually down a lot or did I mess up the install of the AFS motor? Trying to avoid taking the bumper back off! LOL

    • @OGPedXing
      @OGPedXing ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'd start with adjusting the lights since it's easy to try. If that does it, then great. However it maybe a slight problem with how the motor is mounted in its frame. In that case you may need to redo it again :(

Replaced the module with another one I had from an old headlight no luck. Straightened the pin out and tried the original one no luck. I don't get it I had no adaptive codes with the oem lights just had a broken bracket for the left and right movement so decided to try these. Hmm interesting, what year and trim is your car? Mine has one motor, this diagram shows only one (vertical adjustment motor). www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=VB73-USA-07-2007-E90-BMW-335i&diagId=63_0918. Maybe the later versions have two? The new lamp assembly has only space for one. It is working, I can see it do the level test each time I start the car.

      I'm not 100% sure but I think so since the 2006 should be the same chassis code (e90). The link to the Amazon listing that I put in the description should have the years that it works for.

    • @OGPedXing
      @OGPedXing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that a version of these lights will support it but you have to use the motor from your original lights just like the self leveling. The only thing I can think of is to find a used or broken one but with the motor and module still working and swap it in. Then you'd need to code the feature into the car using INPA or ISTA.

  • @videt_scit_dicit
    @videt_scit_dicit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does AFS function work properly? Well. I couldn't see movement of the low beams from left to right and from right to left. And what is that ballast for? You have already used stock AFS modules on new headlights.

    • @OGPedXing
      @OGPedXing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My year only has the self level feature (up and down), not the side to side movement. But yes if you get the lights that support that, it will work. The ballast is for the xenon bulb. By reusing the stock modules and ballast, you save hundreds of dollars with this particular light set. If yours are damaged or missing then this light set will not have that functionality but will work fine otherwise and will not throw a code on the dash.

    • @videt_scit_dicit
      @videt_scit_dicit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OGPedXing Good work. I think that ballast taped on the new headlight is for Adaptive system. But for why? Original afs headlights have already afs modules. Maybe that ballast is for erasing error codes. Is there another place for 2nd motor in this new headlight housing?

    • @OGPedXing
      @OGPedXing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@videt_scit_dicit oh I understand now...yeah that second silver box that comes with the new lights that you have to mount in a manual way is for the codes, you are correct. It's basically another module, not a ballast. The only ballast is the one that came from the original light and it's the thin silver one that has a proper mounting location. There is another module for motor control that came from the original light that is smaller and black in color. My lights didn't have a spot for a second motor for side to side. Not 100% sure but if you get the one for 2009+ model year, you'll get that.
