Take a look at the SGC pop report. I don’t know where all those people are that said they were sending their cards in. Look at these Zion numbers, PSA has graded 513 Zion Silvers and 7825 Zion Base. SGC has graded 12 Zion Silvers and wait for it....182 Zion Base. They are operating at about 2% of PSAs throughout. Turn around times make a lot more sense. Once SGC has anywhere near the volume of PSA you will see those turnaround times spike. I’m skeptical of the SGC price increase recently. It is easy to manipulate the market when you control the majority of the inventory.
I may be wrong on this, so correct me if this is the case, but, that pop report is so new, I haven't looked at it myself so kudos to you for talking about it. Since it's new and since they are new to getting a foothold in the modern market, I'd expect those numbers to drastically change in the next few months but with the pop report being new, I'm wondering if the numbers you are seeing are just from the time the pop report has been live. I had decided to try SGC & send them 16 modern cards after seeing on the main guys from SGC on a interview on TH-cam. He said how they are hitting their turnaround times and how its only going to get better but sadly my 20 day submission is still not back. I live in Florida and sent it to them May 11th. It got checked in May 9th. Its been 1 month since it was checked in and still not back. I really feel these companies should offer some sort of discount for not making these deadlines. Its just bad business if you ask me.
I have a 100+ bundle at PSA going on 5 months , SGC here I come like I always say by the time you get your cards back from PSA the players hot steak has came and went . Bad for business
That's my main problem with PSA. It's hard enough to project prices 30-45 days out. Good luck figuring out the market 90+ days out that is required with a PSA sub.
I wish SGC grows cause PSA turnaround times are ridicolous and Im not talking now because of the pandemic...before that was horrible and it was at least 89 days and now is 100+ minimum.
I sent 36 cards to SGC on a 20 business day. Cards received by them on May 11th. 20 business days expired this past Friday. No messages from SGC, no notices on their website. I had to message them on facebook to find out they will take around double the 20 business days. So it's gonna be around 40 days. They were putting PSA down for taking longer and said there was no excuse. I guess there is an excuse. I understand that, but you gotta send out an email and let your customers know that there will be a significant delay. I sent several monster cards on this order. Hoping for monster grades on them...
thanks for that insight. i submitted about 30 cards as well and it was received on May 5th. So it seems like I will hear back around late June on my submission. Still faster than PSA, but this is disappointing...
They released a statement explaining the delays. With the increased amount of submissions they quickly outgrew their space. They just moved to a new office and hired more staff to get caught up.
@@studiocollector1061 After me facebook message, they did give me a discount code for my next sub. I'll see how it goes with this one to see if I'll be back to use the code. I'll need some 10's on current sub.
SGC is every bit as strict and thorough as Beckett and PSA. In fact, PSA is currently embroiled in a card trimming scandal that's been a story that's kind of been under the radar.
Have an order at psa logged in on jan 22, check 2 days ago still in stage 3. What do u think. To "H" with psa. In my opinion they don't care about the customer. Or the would do something about it.
Not sure it would be 'game over' for either, especially PSA. The real reason most collectors are even using SGC right now is because PSA's backlog is off the charts, which personally tells me a lot. Competition is always a good thing, but reputation counts for a lot in this business. It is gonna take SGC a while to be considered on the same level, even if they upgrade their ugly holders.
I’m really liking SGC!!! I like the black cases. However, if I was SGC I would start to offer the option of different colors of cases and labels (black, clear, blue, red, green, etc.) well at least black and clear. I started using different colored top loaders and really like matching the cases to the color of the card. I really dislike PSA added on fees. That’s why I haven’t used PSA so far. I also don’t trust PSA. I think SGC is going to take off. All it takes is people getting used to it and then I think people will quit using PSA. I really hope SGC stays ethical and continues to do great work. People say that PSA is not going anywhere and will always be #1. I remember talking to the heads of Blockbuster at dinner banquet in Vegas. They said they weren’t going anywhere. I looked at them and told them Netflix was going to take them down. They all laughed.
I’ve had about 8 submissions come back from SGC in the time only one has come back from PSA. They look so good in person. I’m all in; everytime I think of submitting to PSA now; I end up choosing SGC because I get them back in less than a month vs. 5 months. Slimmer margins; but compound interest doesn’t lie! Entrepreneurs like making money; not necessarily eaking out top dollar out of something.
@@xchuckwagon6193 Not gonna lie, my 20-Day sub got checked into SGC on May 8th and I'm still waiting for mines to head back but I also sub to PSA through CC group sub service for 45-Day in March and probably won't see it until end of the year lol
I haven't given up on PSA. I have only done three orders with them so far but the wait hasn't been excessive. I have sent two express orders, one took 6 days and the other took 9. The economy order I sent in March came back in 31 days when not counting the Covid 19 shut down days. My 20 days SGC order is sitting at 12 business days right now, so I don't expect that back for a few more weeks.
Why don't they talk about how if you want to get your Jerry Rice rookie card graded a 10 thru PSA, it costs $2000. And that doesnt guarantee you will get a 10, but the chance of getting a 10. That's so messed up. That's the biggest load of b.s. period! Why didnt they talk about this massive problem! Any card with a value of over $500 costs $50. And the price goes up from there.
Sgc treat their customers better that’s the main thing they don’t rip us off like psa or Beckett with there 100 or more per card that’s ridiculous seriously
These grading companies could help themselves by offering some sort of video consultation of cards to help stop customers sending them cards that won't get a 9/10+ and help cut the backlog of orders down and help their customers save money and time on submitting cards that won't get their desired grades. It shocks me that these grading companies don't have UK/EU operations to help dilute the work flow and cover a big part of the world with secondary offices and helping their work flow and probably increasing their revenues!
I like SGC A LOT, however, I sense that long term, it might not be the best to invest in. SGC grading is fairly spot on. I think they are even more critical than PSA, however when I am selling to flip, PSA and BGS get more for the same grade than SGC. I bought a SGC 10 Zion rookie for $550 and though it was $50 less at the time, now I see how holding an expensive card, I won't get the same value when I sell. I start looking at the SGC Michael Jordan Rookie 8 and how its trading at $1500 less than PSA. So I start thinking long term that its better to spend more on the PSA, even if I feel the grading may not be as good. Its just market perception. I am still going to get SGC cards. I love the look and believe in the grading. My thoughts are, the same graded card but for less. Worse case, if it gets that expensive, crack the case and submit to PSA for the higher grade to resell.
I am sending out my first batch of cards ever to be graded and I am sending them to SGC. All these cards were from my collection as a kid. I showcase a video on my channel.
Too many people have invested their collections into PSA and BGS so I don’t think they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. SGC could easily come and go like others have and your card drops in value. My personal favourite is BGS. They look great and they even list the sub grades so you can see why they’ve graded the cards the way they have AND, they’re slightly cheaper than PSA even though BGS have been around for a really long time. BGS all the way for me. Thanks for sharing this video though, it’s an interesting watch.
@@Disgruntledveteran9122 I was referring to their popularity…. over 2 years ago. My view hasn’t changed. Great company but if there’s psa & bgs slabs on the table people will usually go for them first. They just seem to hold better value
My personal opinion is SGC cases are just the best looking. If I want to flip my graded cards, I go PSA. If I want to keep them for my own display purposes, I go SGC
I agree I stick with mainly psa because there resale value is still much higher then sgc on 10s. I do send some to sgc because they are quicker on turnaround
PSA is just too long of a wait. SGC sounds like a great option. Their grading seems to be tougher than PSA, so wouldn’t they soon be selling for more or at least equal to PSA?
Based on a lot of the off centered cards PSA passes off as 10’s I think it’s okay to say that we disagree. I have a lot of both in 10 grades, and that seems to be the case for my PC.

PSA has such a massive cult following. It may change over time if the wait times continue to drag out. If you are purely an investor and all you care about is money you have two choices, grade with SGC (way quicker turnaround time) and make less profit on the sale OR grade with PSA (way longer turnaround time) but increased profit on the sale. If you want your money as soon as possible to reinvest into the market then go SGC. You may be able to send in one card to SGC, get it back and flip it on ebay then use the money to buy a second card and send it in to SGC before you get one card back from PSA.
Tried SGC on a 20 day. We're now beyond that by 4 days, which I don't actually mind, but when the USP is speed and keeping to their time-frames, it isn't a great start.
submitted 8 cards to SGC on Oct 8, 2020 and go them back Feb 20, 2021. So 4.5 months. Love there black slabs. Hope there value gets closer to PSA. I they can get within 10% of PSA value then it is a no brainer. You also save $5 on each card when you grade it.
Collected for twenty years before the market crashed. Got back into it now. 6 months is nothing for me. Held them for a decade or more when nobody wanted cards.
Cool, I've been buying gold labels from Investacard for a while. Getting more expensive, but there were some really good deals over the last year. I think the gold labels will be 1.5x PSA 10 within the next year.
@@somedude414 Wow, not sure why you're watching a year old video, or if you've just been sitting on this waiting for your moment to shine, but if you must know, the ones I've sold are about 1.2-1.3x PSA 10 value, so no, not quite. But since I was buying them around .7-.8x, a pretty nice return, and a better investment than the PSA 10s would have been. Any more brain busters?
I'm about to put through a bulk submission and am having trouble dropping of at PSA even though I'm 10 miles away and have 200 cards to drop off. With these turn around times and good reviews, SGC is definitely an intriguing option especially if their values are closing ground on PSA
In my experience SGC is the most consistent grade there is. They grade very tough however & there cards sell for less. Listen if sgc started in the early 90s they would have won, but they have a foot hold in hundred year old card and not much else. Is it unfair that they play 2nd fiddle when it's become apparent that PSA misgraded the most famous card in baseball? Yes.
great video and interview, thank you. i buy a lot of sgc graded cards, vintage and new. too much shady stuff going on at psa, people who visit the forums know what i am talking about, and it is not just the pwcc stuff, they purposely grade some cards below their actual grade they are due, sometimes called 'down-grading', plenty of people experienced getting a card regraded at beckett or sgc and getting a better grade. some videos on youtube about that. i will only buy a psa graded card if it is a real bargain
They clean the card for you before it's graded and they will not grade a modern card lower than a 9(if it's lower then a 9 SGC will not grade it) They also have great prices and a speedy turnaround time. HELL YEA!!! I will sending all card to SGC.
Geoff, when editing it would be good to turn your video off when not talking to the other guy for a long time, just switch to a view of the person talking.
I finally got my SGC order back today after 102 business days. It’s was terrible. I will never use them again. Besides the ridiculous grades, 3 cards weren’t fit into the encapsulation! They moved around every where. Never again!

I wish PSA would do something different just don’t know if I’m feeling that white and red. I like presentation so that’s why I mostly go with BGS... but I can understand if you’re selling then go with the ones that get you more money
23:24 I remember seeing a power amp that had a volume that goes to 11 instead of the common 10 for extra umfff. BGS needs to get rid of 9.5 and move it to 10. And then move all 10s to 11 Pristine and 11 Blacks.
I emailed them last week. The PSA shutdown has caused them to get flooded with orders. They wrote back telling me they're trying to keep up with the surge in submissions.

Jeff is wrong...BGS does have two different 10’s - regular and black label. BGS is still the premium product in the industry. Quality holders and the sub-grades lend credibility to the grade.

Good interview. New to Investacard. Im not Instagram expert, but notice they don't have a website yet. Don't like the suggestion of BGS including another 10. I understand the point, but would impact lots of currently graded cards. BGS sub grades are important. How about requiring SGC and PSA to use sub grades? How do i buy cards on Investacard? Do you discuss the fees / commission for investacard? I have more questions on Investacard. Suggestions on where to learn more?
Sketchy. The dude has a “deal” with SGC you think he would say anything bad? No thanks. Continue with PSA for me. This is once again just a “Pump” in the market for SGC.

I had a Joe Burrow NFL Debut Rookie card graded at 10 GM from SGC and the ooo report shows mine was the first graded and then I seen another one on eBay. The pop report on SGC is not correct
Bgs does have 2 10 grades. Gold labels and then black labels for 10s with all 10 subs... I think the most underated slab is the black label bgs. almost none of them out there.

That sounds good but by the time PSA grades and mails out the cards you are in a totally different market. A lot can happen in six months. It is imperative to be able to strike while the iron is hot.
I don't like that SGC calls a 9.5 only "mint" when BGS calls their 9.5 "gem mint". I feel like it's confusing, at least for the new investor/collector.

Every buddy of mine that collects gets their stuff done by SGC now for the most part. Their standards are higher than PSA and the slabs are way better looking
Got to say I am kind of upset with SGC. I sent them just 4 cards to grade....2 months ago. They still haven't got them done. I am sure the companies are swamped with cards to grade but if you say 20 days to grade something, it should be 20 days.
How come you guys didn't acknowledge the POP REPORT. I would think that would be a driving factor that separates SGC from like HGA or lets people know why SGC will keep pace with like PSA and BGS values. Still great info .
Why not? What’s the obsession with psa? The card and condition of it is what matters not the grading company. One thing these grading companies need to do is put a limit on how many cards you can send in on an order. People sending in 100+ - 200+ cards and expecting them back in a short period of time. This is what causes all the delays on returns. With psa I gotta wait 50+ business day to get cards back when before it was 25. It’s because people sending in crazy amount of cards on one order.

Whats the price on a 100+bundle at psa
Yea. I hear you. I'll be getting my sgc subs any day now. Submitting another one now!
Lol.. I’m still waiting on a 20 day sub 😂😂 52 days on just 24 cards lol
@@codyscott4977 Dont tell me that!!! Submitted 135 on 5/14 😬😬😬
Nailed it on the head about the 9.5 vs 10's and the psychological factor, especially for newbies to the hobby/investment.
Market movers is great. There was a lot of buying opportunity with SGC but prices have been getting much closer to psa.
SGC is the most consistent company.

SGC “Label” is too elementary. If SGC changes the “Label” to make it more attractive and professional, it’s game over for PSA & BGS.
the label is the problem.i prefer bgs interms of attractive
Not sure it would be 'game over' for either, especially PSA. The real reason most collectors are even using SGC right now is because PSA's backlog is off the charts, which personally tells me a lot. Competition is always a good thing, but reputation counts for a lot in this business. It is gonna take SGC a while to be considered on the same level, even if they upgrade their ugly holders.
Agree
@@kingstoncash881 LOL......so.....you invested in NFLX the first day they went public then right!
Entrepreneurs like making money; not necessarily eaking out top dollar out of something.
less than a month? what service you overpay for? i paid for 20 day shipping and its been 25 business days and i still dont have my cards from SGC
@@ripnflipp My 20 business day sub was checked into SGC on March 24th...so there's that.
@@professor444 Fuck.....that sucks, SGC is f'ing themselves over if that ends up being the case for a lot of guys!
Geoff, just to correct you, SGC 10 are GEM MINT and Gold Label PRISTINE respectively. 9.5 is a Mint Plus, 9 is MINT on their grading scale.
Thanks!
I've had the same question
I really liked him in Caddyshack and Ladybugs
I am sending out my first batch of cards ever to be graded and I am sending them to SGC. All these cards were from my collection as a kid. I showcase a video on my channel.
Can you send me a link to the video? Would love to see it
Too many people have invested their collections into PSA and BGS so I don’t think they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.
But SGC has been around for 24 years? 🤣. They would have come / gone by now.
Great info advice! All my cards are going to sgc! That Tuxedo look Rocks!!!!
@@buildingbuildercip8292 PSA collectors are a little delusional about their fluffy 10s. their collections are built on it. they get butthurt when they hear the truth
@@kasimojohn2017 I get what you're saying. Whenever I get an off centered 10, I usually sell them on ebay. I go after eye appeal over grade. I'll sell my 10, just to buy another that is centered. These new "investors" just buy them, without really studying them. They see a 10 & start bidding.
@@HairMetalNation. yeah we are starting to see the market settle after this gary v army is realizing that a player having a good practice doesn't make him a legend or not every card will allow you to retire at 50 lmao. Hopefully they will do some research. I learned the silver market in a week on TH-cam 5 years ago. Pays to learn about what you are buying 🤔
With SGC slabs, the card is held in with some foam without an internal sleeve. Any worry with the edges fraying against the foam?
PSA cards don’t have internal sleeves and are just fine. BGS I believe are the only ones that use an internal sleeve.
The main problem I see with SGC cards on the market is that the volume of buying of them are way much less then psa and bgs , I would only use them for my PC
I agree for now the comps that are out there Psa 10 vs sgc 10 psa is still quite a bit higher on the resell market
Unless it's vintage pre-1970.

I love psa 10s. But they dropped the ball. So I go to sgc now. Its catching fire! Should be good investments from my subs...
Almost a year later....are those gold labels 1.5x's the PSA 10? I'm dying to find out! Thanks
Does SGC do marvel trading cards
Yesssssssss
I'm about to put through a bulk submission and am having trouble dropping of at PSA even though I'm 10 miles away and have 200 cards to drop off. With these turn around times and good reviews, SGC is definitely an intriguing option especially if their values are closing ground on PSA
Why didn’t he talk about investacard info. What’s the process, info, fees, etc
Where do I go to join his program to self graded cards
They clean the card for you before it's graded and they will not grade a modern card lower than a 9(if it's lower then a 9 SGC will not grade it) They also have great prices and a speedy turnaround time. HELL YEA!!! I will sending all card to SGC.
Geoff, when editing it would be good to turn your video off when not talking to the other guy for a long time, just switch to a view of the person talking.
And also mail interviewee a tripod.😃

So did you get some 10s? I'm dieing to know! Hopefully in 2yrs PSA has gotten them done for you! Lol
PSA did the new label with barcode on it. What about SGC and forgery?
I like The black borders I just wish they would do something about that type it just looks too blocky and cheap to me.... The one thing about BGS is those always look really nice in my opinion.... I wish PSA would do something different just don’t know if I’m feeling that white and red. I like presentation so that’s why I mostly go with BGS... but I can understand if you’re selling then go with the ones that get you more money

I remember seeing a power amp that had a volume that goes to 11 instead of the common 10 for extra umfff.
BGS needs to get rid of 9.5 and move it to 10. And then move all 10s to 11 Pristine and 11 Blacks.

Got to say I am kind of upset with SGC. I sent them just 4 cards to grade....2 months ago. They still haven't got them done. I am sure the companies are swamped with cards to grade but if you say 20 days to grade something, it should be 20 days.
to be fair, bgs has 2 levels of 10 as well. the gold label and the black label. black label is all sub grades are a 10 as well.
