- Did a real creature inspire the myth of the Kraken, one of the greatest sea monsters of all time?
Hundreds of years ago, our ancestors believed that a gigantic sea monster swam in the world’s oceans - the mighty Kraken. This huge sea beast was said to devour men and sink ships that sailed too close. Investigator biologist Charles Paxton is on the hunt for this terrifying monster of the deep. Did a real sea creature like the giant squid inspire these tales of the Kraken and why do the descriptions of this monster vary so much? The quest to find the Kraken explores our primal fear of the unknown - could the origins of the Kraken myth be a coded warning?
For thousands of years, civilisations believed in mythical beasts - Dragons, Cyclops, Giants, Vampires and Sea Monsters. They still fascinate us today, but where did the stories of these fabled creatures come from? How much truth lies behind the legends, and what can these myths tell us about the medieval and ancient people that created in them? This series combines action-packed location filming and computer-generated animation, with experts in archaeology and palaeontology, to unearth the secrets behind some of the most famous and terrifying mythical beasts.

There could be loads of things in the sea we don't know about
What's REALLY unnerving, is that IF there was any actual physical evidence of ANY of these "mythological creatures, even giants, etc., ...) that if there ever WAS any kind of viable DNA recovered, we can bet that the Deep State evil scientists have already began cloning them.
Loads of mumbo jumbo.
@@user-jg2xe8uo4e I believe that's a potato casserole
I wonder if it's name is PHIL. McKracken??
First, this a great video! I believe the Russians found a kraken in lake vostok in Antarctica. It was quite the shape shifter!
Let no joyful voice be heard! Let no man look up at the sky with hope! And let this day be cursed by we who ready to wake... the Kraken!
I love that line. ,kool and powerfull from Davey Jones.
All in Davey Jones's Locker
"Hello, Beastie"
Release the kraken!
Octopus and Squid mixed together along with the Angels adding in the mix to make Giants🤔
And kelpies oh my!
Thanks for the awesome sauce videos! God bless us all AMEN!
No one come out with the line yet!
"LET LOOSE... THE KRAKEN! 🐙

Actually it's "RELEASE THE KRAKEN!"

Kraken : 🇳🇴 Norway Norse ocean giant octopus squid sea monster tentacles suck attacking ship and devoured humans
before quid was hunted they were allowed to grow for many years, have in mind that the boat used back in the day was different from sailing boat today. remember the Viking boats
Clearly those sailors were seeing different sorts of sea monsters. The Kraken isn't the only type of beastie being seen. No shape shifting to it,
Aye!
Advisory. No kraken was hurt while filming this mumbo jumbo.
Which is unfortunate, as mumbo jumbo is a great seafood delicacy
They found a giant squid near the coast of japan that’s 10x bigger than what they pulled out there lol just look up giant squid japan. They have it on video
I've seen that. Wasn't it over 75 feet long?
For the narrator, I'd choose Ian McShane (Blackbeard from POTC) or Johnny Depp.
There is still much we do not know or discover in our planet
Yet alone the universe
Forget about planet or universe. I couldn’t even understand my GF
@@guccigang5269 LMAO thanks for that
The call of Cthulhu 😮
This program reeks of "We didnt find it, So lets just make something up!"...
No kraken where harmed in the making of this 45 minute waste of my lifetime I will never get back!😊
I fell asleep and had to restart 😴
Lol
How about a big and strange octopus
The leviathan is far more gigantic and has more power then any creature in the ocean.
Spoiler alert. No krakens are shown or found in this documentary. Saved you 45mins
Thank you, love squid and octopus, big ones are a bonus.
Not really the point but thanks for the warning I guess?
What?! No????? Damn, im so disappointed! 😂🤣😂
That's because there is no kraken. Not today anyway. Just like the Jersey Devil. You don't ever see any of him either in any of the documentaries, nor some of the other cryptic creatures. Bigfoot is about as tangible as it gets!😊
No way!!! I wondered why MYTHICAL BEASTS are in the title😂😂😂. The title of the video wasn't "We found the Kraken". I am more interested in the research part anyway. That is the fun part😊😊
That "GIANT" squid is tiny. Weird how he said it was a "BIG" specimen.
I think the kelpie deserves an episode of its own.
Sheep dog?
@@sTraYa249 A duck?
These things are real. Too many people have seen them.

Resident Evil before Resident Evil.
I read that's why spermwhales produce Ambergris so all those hard 'beaks' can be vomited up without damage to internal structures of the whale.
I have read all i can about spermwhales & its funny that people think a giant/colossal aquid can take down a grown male spermwhale....their only chance is to escape the whale & the sucker marks are often seen on their heads after being devoured or possibly escaping.
Both are such amazing animals 🦑 🐳
That specimen that he called 'absolutely massive' couldn't even rock a boat, much less break one in half..
USS STEIN INCIDENT.

"Hello, Beastie"
Back in the days when boats didn't use diesel engins, or engins in general, they would have more encounters with these creatures. Everyrhing the ancients encountered has been 'hidden' for a while now. I believe they will be revealed for the end times. To cause kaos and fear unimaginable.
5:50 oh man, I had to go back and listen to that again I thought he said it was named "deez nuts" ... seemed unlikely.
Well things are changing and things that stayed DEEP are now surfacing. Be aware when you go sailing.
One video I saw some time ago was. A Orca washed up onshore almost completely bitten in half. Marine biologists said it was a single bite. At the base was 5ft wide. What can do that?
What about the Medusa Squid from Lake Vostok down in Antarctica? They say it can change shape to mimic anything and it can hypnotize as well!?! 🍒🍒🍒
some doubting Thomases
Maybe the Medusa Squid was more prolific durring the Ice Age because the ocean waters would be colder everywhere. Then as the waters go steadily warmer it moved to the Antartic waters!?! 🍒🍒🍒
"Here be beasts"
I love how someone gets a degree in blah blah and Suddenly......They know what dead people really meant when they say kraken, it means plankton or-- A Rock Lobster!!
That preserved squid is missing the rear section of its body , usualy from being attacked by another squid , cut clean in half by the beak .
Those jelly balls are eggs
Due to all motorized ships, we are scaring off a lot of sea creatures. Probably now adapted to the deep.
I think they have no idea what’s at the depths of our oceans and the sailors down through history, from all different parts of the world know exactly what they saw! They sure as hell wouldn’t have appreciated some young person from today’s time, who probably only get wet when bathing, telling them they’re liars, or mistaking or hallucinating.
Me and 3 of my crew mates took them out with canons on a Gallion very now and then...i can confirm their meat are tasty.
Too think that they used the same water as a toilet then drank it!

Looks like a bird the face
The poor buddy is so dead. But I could imagine how it happened with these stories. Whales hunt them. So I guess it was self defence but people ::iiiiihghit there's a giant squid on my boat! 😢 I guess they saw a squid but painted a giant octopus. But it looks like in some painting
RELEASE THE KRAKEN!
Tl;dr it’s a giant cephalopod.
Summon the kraken
Monsters do exist. Go swim in the Pacific.
Release the Calamari
Yum love it
The creator God tells us about sea creatures Super large one's male and female and it is also in other writings that say who made them and where they live and how big they are.
