My heart and sympathy go out to Bruce Willis and his family after his onset dementia diagnosis. It's heartbreaking that he can't even act anymore due to his condition.
Sharon Stone with Basic Instinct Demi Moore with Ghost Angelina Jolie with Lara Croft Johnny Depp with Nightmare on Elm Street John Travolta with Saturday Night Fever
Bruce Willis was not an "unknown actor" going into Die Hard. Granted, his experience in film was limited, with his most notable credit being starring in the middling "Blind Date" with Kim Basinger. Die Hard did show he could be an action hero. But he was already pretty established in TV. having starred in Moonlighting, which was one of the hottest TV shows of the mid 80's.
Apparently, Brad Pitt screen tested for the role of another JD, in "Heathers", that is. But he was told that he was "too nice" for the part. If only they knew...
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Hugh Jackman - X-Men, Austin Butler - Elvis, Jennifer Lawrence - The Hunger Games, Jim Carrey - Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber, Russel Crowe - Gladiator, Alan Rickman - Die Hard, Dustin Hoffman - The Graduate Sean Connery - Dr. No
Taron Egerton in the first Kingsman movie, I hope, is on the list, or at least an honorable mention!!! Although, I wouldn't say that he was a *TOTAL* unknown...
Other movies and actors: +Steve Carell in The 40 Year Old Virgin +Michael Clarke Duncan in The Green Mile +Chris Evans in Captain America (2011) +Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone +Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid +Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween +Steve Guttenberg in Police Academy
#1 should've been Al Pacino. Not only was he an unknown for the Godfather, but Francis Ford Coppola fought with the studio to get him the role of Michael Corrleone
So many other names come to mind. Keanu Reeves, but for which film? Bill & Ted or The Matrix? Another person I thought of but unfortunately hasn't had enough roles is Gabourey Sidibe. She was so great in Precious that I would watch any film she is in. Where is Leonardo DiCaprio on this list also? Save a spot for Philip Seymour Hoffman too. This list needs to become a top 20.
Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games Henry Cavill in Man Of Steel Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000) Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman Tom Holland in Spiderman: Homecoming Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura, The Mask, & Dumb & Dumber in the same year Rachel Mcadams in Mean Girls Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries Amy Adams in Enchanted Harrison Ford in Star Wars Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Christopher Reeve in Superman
I'm surprised that Harrison Ford isn't on this list. Apparently, the guy wasn't that good at acting until he played the role of Han Solo in Star Wars of all movie.
re. DIE HARD, SPEED, PRETTY WOMAN: I don't know that you can call an actor 'unknown' when they're billed before the title, and Julia Roberts had already had an Oscar nomination.
3) 10:06 No, it wasn’t. The real game changer for Chris Hemsworth was his stint as George Kirk in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 first Star Trek reboot movie. That’s the role which garnered him big recognition and led to him being cast as Thor.
I saw Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock, & Zack Galifinakis on TV before they started appearing in movies. Brad played a transfer student that Carol (Tracey Gold) Seaver became interested in when things weren't going well for her and her boyfriend, Bobby. Then he played a rock star that Ben (Jeremy Miller) Seaver idolized until he found out what a jerk the guy was. Sandra was in the last of the Bionic Woman & Six Million Dollar TV reunion movies that they did in the 90s. She played a young woman named Kate who had been paralyzed in an accident & given bionic powers. And Zack was a mortician in Tru Calling, a short lived series where Tru Davies (Eliza Dushku) would end up reliving a day to help people that had been brought into the morgue. Zack's character was one of the few people that knew what Tru was going through, besides her brother.

We all love Sandra Bullock ❤
Bruce Willis became a Star with "Moonlighting"
Agree. It was a worldwide hit. Think George Clooney ER.

I think you missed the biggest one. Harrison Ford in Star Wars.
I think "Saturday Night Fever" catapulted John Travolta to stardom.
Technically Good Will Hunting made both Damon & Affleck stars. Just saying 😳 Bruce Willis was already a star from being on Moonlighting
Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games
Henry Cavill in Man Of Steel
Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000)
Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman
Tom Holland in Spiderman: Homecoming
Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura, The Mask, & Dumb & Dumber in the same year
Rachel Mcadams in Mean Girls
Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaries
Amy Adams in Enchanted
Harrison Ford in Star Wars
Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator
Sylvester Stallone in Rocky
Christopher Reeve in Superman

It should be called "Top 10 Movies that turned on unknown actor and Dave Patel into a Global Megastar"

Chloe Moretz: Kick-Ass
Megastar? meh ....
@alanwhit8770 she was pretty much everywhere back in the 2010's
Star Wars a New Hope- Mark Hamill
Why was an episode of Two And A Half Men titled Due Date?

Brad Pitt is Perfect for the Title..

I was hoping we would see Stranger Things - Millie Bobby Brown on this list
Ed helms also became a big star too with hangover 😅
You missed Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic
You mean the child predator?
@@BellaEGeorgeExacto
He was in What's eating gilbert grape before that!
Chris hemsworth with bleached blonde eyebrows, still hilarious they did that
oh my god I know right lol love him, and all the Thor movies but those eyebrows in the first movie tho 🤣🤣🤣🤦♀️
Dylan O'Brien in The Maze Runner
Ok... Chris Hemsworth was born in 1983 right? So how could he look like thát in 1988 at only 5 years old?
That TV series started in 1988, so he could have been in another season.
Bad list, some people were already known before they made it big
#cancelbradpitt
First
that guy from "Get Out" that I've never heard of isn't exactly on the level of Brad Pitt.
