This video is for new drivers on the new Maxx Force training video. The engine is manufactured by International Truck & Engine and is in the new 2009 model trucks.
If you have a maxx force engine in your truck i guarantee you are getting great fuel mileage....They dont use fuel at all on the side of the road, or sitting in the shop.
i got out of a detroit 60 and every shift was at 17-18 and smooth. i try shifting this engine the same and it never goes in smooth. i feel like a noob now. and bobtailing these things is one hell of a rodeo ride.
so if we are to downshift at 1100 rpm. what do we raise rpms to to drop to the next gear? my truck revs up to 2000 rpm thru all gears. its so hard for me not to raise the rpms up to 18-2000 before shifting. but in doing so i have a hard time getting a clean shift. im pulling 80000 every load all the time. i noticed shifting at the lower rpm it goes in smoother but its so hard not to rev up.
Navistar`s ProStar in my opinion having 2 yrs of operating experience with them has left me wondering.Why did the engineering stop so short with these trucks.It is a constant electronic malfunction battle.With seemingly meaningless engine warning messages.This is according to International Tech.In my opinion fleet owners dont get rid of your 9400 series so soon till this manufacture gets with it.In my professional opinion they have left out the most important consideration and thats value.
I drive a 2012 Prostar + Eagle with a 500hp Maxxforce junk engine!. It is the absolutley worse engine I have ever had the displeasure of driving, there's no power and I haul tri-axle loads weighing in at around 67,000 lbs. As soon as this truck see's a hill it starts losing power and I'm dropping FULL gears on a 18 spd Eaton transmission, I split it back from over to direct and drop from there. This is a brand new rig with 30,000 kms (yes it`s Canadian) and so far nothing but problems!!. JUNK!!!
One of our trucks is down again for the second time in one week. This international sucks from top down. It suck as a truck and also International dealer service sucks. All they do is lie on your face to see you back in one week.
@ryanlk4960 As a driver, a manager, a driver trainer, a company truck purchasing agent I have done the research and can speak from personal experience. The facts show that a driver driving a quiter truck will show less fatigue than a driver driving a loud truck over the course of a normal working day thus making him/her safer and more productive. Loud engines are cool and neat for showing off, but from a productivity and safety stand point they have no place on the road.
The maxxforce 15 is just RIDICULOUSLY TOO QUIET....it has got to be the most unsatisfying engine I have ever driven.... there is no " life " ...no" grunt "at all to this engine...(although it does pull decent)......It doesn't matter how much throttle you give ,your always getting the same tone..(remember no sound)...just choked to death.
How to drive a truck with a Maxxforce engine. Step one. Sell that pile of crap and get a cummins Detroit or Volvo instead Step two. Enjoy not derating every twenty miles
It's a German made MAN motor and not an american design, that sucks! buy a Cummins if you want a American made engine!! it's the only true american engine left!!
Well, that's a bit funny because MAN is the diesel house, they were the first one to made and sell it, and also they do the most part of the engines of ships, the biggest 4 stroke engine (18V 51/60G) and the biggest engine in the world (12G95ME) But for some reason they did fucked it with the crappforce

Chad Mock 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jajaja you are totally right
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
how could i use my tachometer since there is such a huge delay in the electronics xD
Freightliner is the only truck to run Detroits anymore. The DD models are basically large Mercedes-Benz units.
@pwarren1010 I agree with you. The Prostars are beautiful looking trucks, but they do have many electrical/software quirks to work out.

😆😆rodeo ride.
What does lug down mean?
what is that song in the beginning and we just got a truck with the new big bore diesel for boces a cdl class and it is awesome

What's lugging?
Something a old D-8 is famous for,you could count fan blades and still be shoving dirt
a maxforce is a detroit block?
CAT
A CAT block?
from I understand Its a CAT block with heads and all its components designed by NAVISTAR
Mmmm make sure maybe you are wrong CAT is a bigger company thanks
mmm ok
Freightliner owns Detroit and exclusively uses it in their trucks

@ryanlk4960 Someone who spends all day behind the wheel. A loud engine is proven to increase driver fatigue.
@MrChevyman555 Not anymore.

@MrChevyman555 i don't think anyone has a detroit anymore
CrappForce
see no one really has a REAL detroit Diesel anymore.. they all died out.. the name will soon fade into the dust
Western star runs Detroits
Know it's a big engine but it still loud.
all of these helpful driving innovations are just gonna make ppl worse at driving
@4NZZZ454CATEngine Thanks.
People who drive them for 12 hours a day, everyday.
OHHHH the irony 11 years later. International really has their foot in their mouth after talking up this useless scrap metal.. JUNK
