  • How to Apply for Jobs in the UK (International Student) 💼 | Job Application Notion Template 📝
Applying for jobs straight out of university, or any stage of life that you are in, is a crucial task, but it doesn't always need to be mega stressful! As someone who has naively stumbled her way into the working world of STEM research, I've made a few mistakes and in the process also learned a thing or two about how (and where, when and why) to apply for jobs. I've made several videos in the past providing full insight into CV, cover letter and interview prep (all linked below), but this video is a concise compilation of it all. I hope you find it helpful!

Hello, just curious, is a lab job as boring as how people described it? I had many anecdotes from my relatives and acquaintances who have mentioned a lab job being boring. You don't seem to find it boring. How is it for you?

that's a fair question! I think it depends a lot on your line or research and position you have. for example, as an assistant or technician, if my only job was to culture cells, I'd be really bored. but if your lab group assigns you a mini project where you devise your own experiments and work on your own timeline, that can be very interesting especially if you're trying to figure out what no one else has done before. career progression with more opportunities to lead projects definitely gets interesting, but if you're solely doing the technical work without thinking about the science, it gets tedious. that's how I feel about it anyway 😅😅
