    Wow, this is an amazingly rich collection of resources and tips for one video! I happened to know about most of them already but you also taught me some useful tricks as your Little NavMap vids have also done. Also a bit of memory lane for me with KEMT and C152. When I was working on my PPL in C152 in 2000-2001 in Massachusetts, I used to go to my company’s home office in Pasadena every 6 weeks or so. In the winter the flying weather was better in LA than in Worcester so I did some training flights out of El Monte (now San Gabriel Valley) and KCNO. I did my night cross country from Chino to Palm Springs. I haven’t flown as a pilot since 2013 but MSFS is helping me revisit some of the joy of flying (and simulated travel during COVID). Thanks for the excellent videos. Your voiceover work is great too. Weren’t you on KROQ back in the day? :) (I lived in the Pasadena area in the 80’s).

    • @badGamr
      @badGamr  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the great comments Bruce! Sadly I have a health condition that precludes my ability to fly so MSFS is a wonderful alternative. KCNO has some great war birds stationed there. But the old moped of the skies will always hold a special place in my heart. I am very pleased my videos have been able to give you a little bit of heretofore unknown info and help! The portions of this video that talk about the FAA publications is targeted at non-pilots that want to take their sim experience up a notch.
      Happy new year!

    For my very first flight in MSFS 2020, I took off from KORD and overflew the former Meigs Field in a Cessna 172. It was my way of saying "we've come a long way, baby!" Thanks for all your great recommendations. I especially appreciate your tip that Alt+Enter toggles in and out of full-screen - I couldn't find how to do that anywhere else! Thanks again!

    I found fspm a little disappointing. To start with, it starts in the top right part of the screen, and you can't move it. One user found a work around by changing your assistance settings. It uses openstreetmap but doesn't allow you to change to the satellite view. Also it doesn't show your route or waypoints when your flying nav. The only good thing, it it let's you zoom out far.

    • @badGamr

      For me it is super useful that I can teleport. That's all I use it for really. I always have LittleNavMap up on my second monitor and that is my main mapping/planning app. I did not experience the issue that you did where you could not move it. I will let the developer know.

These are two of the books that are used as resources to teach flight training, and if you want to get into flying or simming, you'll love them. Also, definitely get the AIM since it's free - the FAR/AIM is the pilot's Bible.
