I got the upgraded audio with the sub and it bumps really hard and the speakers it self are very clear and very quiet just a little bit of “rambling” or “other noise” after 14,000 miles of bass all the way up
As mentioned before the Alpine system is all you'll need sound system wise.
Also, if its not much trouble, and if you have time, could you guys do a small video with all the upgrades done to your JL so far? It would be pretty great.
Keep up the awesome content, I'm never disappointed with your videos, and that is rare on TH-cam nowadays lol.

I have it in my hard top Rubicon 2 Door and it is awful.I am interested as well in a much upgraded speaker Bar and beyond.Plenty of talk on JLForums too.I also have Tidal Masters so the best possible Audio source.

I had to stop the vid and share my story, about the bathroom break! We we're fishing in the early morning in Catalootchie Valley...it was barely daylight. The speckled trout we're hungry and we we're cold. All of a sudden, it hit me and I asked my nephew if he had any striking paper. He gladly said yes and proceeded to pull one square sheet from his vest pocket. One square sheet??? My years of carrying a handkerchief really paid off that day!!!!! Trail humor!

We did that trail last year at EJS. 2 dr Rubicon on 34's with a stick. It was a little much for us. We need 37's and 5.13's to get a slower crawl with the clutch out for that trail. Great times on that trail. Great video.
JL Audio. I have used their products since the 90’s. They have brackets to mount fuse blocks under the hood, wiring kits, amplifier racks that bolt under the front seats for their amplifiers, great coaxial replacement speakers, and stealthboxes. Each stealthboxes holds a 10” shallow mount subwoofer. They bolt next to each rear wheel well and blend seamlessly into the interior. You lose virtually zero cargo space.

William Johnson yep your probably right. One of those things they use for strip mining don’t know the proper name for them. There is one just east of rock Springs Wyoming that has a bucket that would hold 3 or 4 tractor trailers. I think that was what Kevin was digging with. Lol

I have the upgraded alpine audio in my JLUR and I love it, I was bumping on the way home from Moab the other night lol. It is easily adjustable to my preferences which I also really like and it delivers quite a good kick.
Kevin here’s a tip from a old tanker who has routinely spent over 24 hours at a time in a tank. Always have a empty Gatorade bottle.
Yep Gatorade bottles are the best for a pinch.

My sister has a JL like yours but with the upgraded audio system from Jeep and it is on par with my trucks audio system that cost me an arm and a leg to install. For a stock vehicle there was plenty of base, where you could hear it but it will not drown out the highs and mids. Very impressed with how her audio system sounds compared to a fully done up one with amplifier sub woofer and premium speakers. I do not know how hard it would be to install the upgraded system from jeep but I cannot imagine it would be too hard and more or less just plug and play. Best of luck guys, the upgraded stock system is very good.

I also have the factory Alpine up graded stereo with the subwoofer and I must say it is the best stereo I have had in a vehicle ever. So crisp and clear without distortion. If I were you guys ,I would look into getting it from a dealer and have them install it so it has a warranty..after all it is a piece of electronics..

I have the upgraded audio with the Alpine sub in my JLUR and it sounds great! Definitely the best factory audio system I've ever had.
I have the standard, non-upgraded audio. Personally, I think it's awesome. Out of the 27 or so vehicles I've owned since 1995, this JL audio is one of the best. Great low frequency, good adjustability, sounds nice. With the windows up, it's like a theatre. With the windows down and top back, it does have a little trouble keeping up with volume, but I think any stereo system will in that case....wind noise trumps all! Lol.
Brit has always given very good direction on guiding you on the obstacles. You guys make me laugh a lot. Love the videos keep them coming

Another awesome video of getting all up in it. Reminds me of the hey Joe Canyon trail that is just wide enough for jeeps running along a cliff. Be safe, rubber side down, shiney side up
Great video! I saw that trail the first time I was in Moab, in April of '17. We were out on our mountainbikes, coming down all those ledges was such a blast!
On that narrow part, we ran into a convoy of early Broncos, there was a club in town that week. They were really cool ,and the drivers were super nice. There were 4 of us on bikes, and the guy at the end of the line radioed ahead and told them all to stop to let us by. When we got to the front of the line, the lead guy says "I'm going to follow your line!" as we start the climb up the ledges.
We ran into them a few other times, we were quicker through the technical stuff, but then when it got smooth we'd hear the roar of V8's and we'd pull over and let them pass. My buddies don't offroad, so they weren't as interested, but I had a really good time watching those Broncos attack the ledges. I was like "I have to do this!", so I rented a JK Rubi from Cliffhanger Jeep two days later. Good times!

I have a 2916 JK Backcountry. It came with the Alpine top of the line touch screen stereo. It has uconnect and Sirius. Awesome sound and satellite radio. I listen to music when off the beaten path on Sirius Also had 80 gig memory storage. Love my Jeep!

Hey guys! Hope the cross country trip went well! I have the upgraded audio in the JL with the big alpine bass in the back. It really is awesome. Sounds great across all types of music and ranges. We run the top off a lot in the winter/spring (PHX) and the system sounds like your running top on, plenty of volume and the sound is still pure despite the wind and noise! Hope every thing came out ok Kevin!
I've done that cliffhanger trail a few times. It is still the most puckery trail I've ever been on. Gemini Bridges is cool too. I was there a bunch of years ago when a couple of kids slid off the edge.

Yes on upgrade and no way I’d go without it. Heard the stock in three different versions of JL and never happy. Part of every drive is a jam session with my tunes.
We have the factory 430N radio and are happy with it. Sorry we missed this event.
Mine was great until the NAV went caput. Still love the system, and just use something else for NAV.
Sorry don't have my JL yet, so can't give you my Sound-system input at this time. But every time I watch your videos I get closer to pulling the trigger. Especially with jeeps new color that's very close to my H2 color. Waiting for the new hood video installation. Again Great driving Kevin and Great video work Brittany. Jelly Great work on Kevin's ankles for baby comment and not listening to Brittany. Trust her she is a great spotter.

Got a 2019 2 door JL with the factory 9 speaker premium Alpine group. Absolutely rocks! 8.4 inch display is icing!
I have the factory Alpine system in my 2017 JKU, and I LOVE it (Yeah, I know they are a bit different in parts, but not in sound experience, I have heard the JL premium audio and it is very similar). My old 2008 JK had the base audio and it was so bad. I had to replace the whole system. You can buy plug-n-play speakers, but you need an amp. The factory premium audio has an amp which is where a lot of the difference comes from.

In response to the audio upgrade, I have a JK not a JL but went with the plug and play Alpine kit with amp, speakers, and powered under seat sub. An easy install and sounds great. I know the JL is different, but i they make the same kit for it as well.

Awesome video, even I puckered when you turned the camera over the edge, glad you moved. I opted for the upgrade on the audio system and it's very good. A quick side note, I also upgraded the system in our Raptor at Car-toys, that rattles the mirrors.

My 2019 Rubi JL has the 8.4 and premium audio and it rocks. Plus if you upgrade all your UConnect stuff will work including your Offroad Pages. Works great with the Apple Car stuff too. Easy to use interface and integration.

Crutchfield I have been using them for 30 years
also stuff the upper sound bar with pillow polyester I have a powered sub woofer from S/O sound ordiance under the passenger seat B will get a kick out of that. Go to Crutchfield and build exactly what you want and the wiring harnesses are perfect also.
I love it at 1430 how you guys kept that together vs blowing up! Haaaaa. I wish me and the wife can do that baaahaaaa. You guys are the best. Cheers.

We kept the stock head unit and just upgraded the speakers to the Kicker "mopar" upgraded speakers and used some sound deadening in the enclosures. HUGE difference! Unless you're an audiofile it's in my opinion the cheapest, best option.

I have 4 infinity 6.5 in speakers and 2 infinity tweeters, an infinity 5 output and 2 12's (overkill) but even with just the speakers and a smaller single sub u can still get great sound quality, would highly recommend, not a bad price either!

Love the factory upgraded sound system and sub. Especially like the 12 station memory for Sirrius XM. As you switch through, each station starts from the beginning of the current song. Not mid-song.

I ordered the updated Alpine stereo and love it. I'm a music buff and had to have it after having the standard radio in my JK. I looked into upgrading the JK stereo and and it's a big job. I'm sure someone will hook you up.
