The only way to report crap is through discord? Excuse me? Where did the alleged 30 to 50 million dollar for this go? They can't even put in a simple bug report to their beta. I never tried it because I don't want to be a douche. So I can't confirm if that's legit. However, i've seen others say they could *not* take placed objects. And it should be impossible for anyone to take your storage because it just brings up your own storage, but I haven't tested this extensively because I didn't want to risk messing up someone's plot and my own plot for that matter. Seriously though...these are supposed to be professional game devs with over 100 people and a sizeable budget. If this were a dev team of 5 to 10 people with out a greedy cash shop, no one would be complaining. So all these numbers being thrown around have to fake. Because if 150+ people with a 30 million dollar budget ended up with this after 3 years...that makes no sense.
They didn't say the house glitch was only reported 10 times. They were referring to stolen items. My plot has merged numerous times. I have watered crops, however you can not harvest crops, you can not move or take items. The only thing that I was able to do was to remove wall paper and flooring. It didn't go into my inventory or stash. I have tested this over a dozen times and used the IN GAME report button to report my findings on every instance.
Good video, I have one issue with this game. Things are too expensive. They keep nerfing gold making and the prices of things are so high. I just hit my first K of gold and still need more to expand my house.
Well i just bought the iron chest upgrade and the final backpack upgrade. I find gold to not be a major issue. Just enjoying the game and grinding rep with the villagers.
It's tough when you first start out but honestly later it's pretty balanced. Especially once you get your farm going. I also make thousands a day just by chopping, mining, fishing and occasional bug catching and selling any excess I don't need.
I tried to test the ability to take other players items when housing plots merged. I could only access my chest could not pick up anyone items or harvest their crops I could water their crops though but if they loaded their plot I have no way of knowing if the watering actually applied. It seems when plots merge all the visitation rules apply. The reports of players being able to take things are most likely fake or the players had stuff deleted such as when you put items on the porch add ons they can disappear sometimes repapering later somewhere else or jsut gone for good but that is a coding issue and not players swiping stuff of your porch.
I had a merge moment with someone who just laughed at me and I guess left... I'm assuming they laughed because I had nothing worth taking (they were running on a random letter name too lol).
I would love to invite you to my home lot anytime you wish =) been playing since 2 weeks before open beta so my place is growing still ,.... good coverage here
From what I heard, people with client side cheats were able to change their jump velocity, jump really high in their own plot and then glide all the way over to someone else their plot (since supposedly their are multiple housing plots loaded in on one server, they're just quite far apart in space).
Basically right after publishing this, I was able to accidentally replicate something similar. There are some defenses against this, but it doesn't seem foolproof. They also changed a bit with the patch so you get teleported back to your plot if you go too far.
the problem about the cat is, the FIRST pet in the game is locked behind a paywall, like we have characters who would be great to give a quest to get this first pet, but the FIRST pet be a shop one? this open a very dangerous e ugly monetization line o thinking, if this first pet was a quest and they sell CLOTHES for the pets, my gosh would be incredible, the people jumping in to buy a hoddie for the cat, more than clothes for the character, but that looked very ugly, i kown they NEED money, everyone needs, but when you put the money as priority and not the game things get ugly, and yes i kown "oh, it is a reward for who used money" nhe, this don´t stick very well to me, they could gived clothes our a furnishing thing, but the first pet? and yes i konw the pet is only visual... everything in this game is only visual. Well my comment is very long now, but i got really sad with this game, i waited for this game for years, i bring all my friends to play with me, i defend the problems like lack of social things in a social game, the lack of interactable furniture in a FURNISHING game, etc... but this spit on my face. "hey you see that great new thing we bring? this cute cat? yeah, only 5 dolars =D" this made me give up hard and i am so sad about this. =/ i will still follow your channel to see the new things, but i am so sad about Palia... i am not angry i am just disapointed. Ps: i like your videos, good work.
Like you, I too was also looking forward to this game the moment i first heard anything about it (almost 5ish years ago). I too am disappointed, because it was hopefully, FINALLY, a game that I could actually play without seizures or anxiety issues, not only solo, but once again, FINALLY, with friends. It's so hard to find games these days for people with conditions like mine. (I lack real life depth perception due to born blind in one eye, I have stressed induced seizures so I needed something non-combative, and on top of everything, I have heart issues so dealing with jump scares is a no go, hell I play Minecraft on peaceful, and I still scared myself off a cliff into lava from a cow behind a tree I was chopping down... it's horrible, it's stupid, I hate this body of mine, and I just want to enjoy something just once that wasn't going to make me rage quit, even Minecraft started causing me constant migraines with new textures each update... just ugh!) Years ago, they stated that there would be neighborhoods, not this go to a billboard on your lot to go visit a friends lot, but literally a neighborhood where you could walk down a road to your neighbors house, that's how they described it! They stated they would never put a feature behind a paywall, and the announcement came out and it said along the lines, "we've added the feature of pets!" and it's behind a paywall, you have to spend money to even access it... the fact that you need to spend money for a thank you, no longer is a thank you. It's a manipulative tactic to gain profit. It's been stated that some of their word choices has been ... disrespectful of their promise/word, one quote was "free to play, pay to slay" which doesn't come off very well hearing, then there's the saying "if you can't earn to afford, than you can't afford to earn." and that rubs so many the wrong way... it's basically discriminating... Let's do some simple math, hmm? there's approx. 100k users in their discord, let's say that 100k plays, let's say 10% (being generous of coarse) are what people known as "whales"
When my home got overlayed with someone else's I didn't realize what happened. I freaked out and tried to remove everything that wasn't where it should've been. I hope I didn't take someone else's stuff.
Hi, developer here! Specifically a dev that works on custom server architecture. I'm not sure if your brain is just smooth, or your just lying about being a dev, but are you actually sitting here excusing S6's choice to leave a large part of an MMORPG as client side authoritative. Are you really sitting here and saying that they didn't take the time to secure their game, because it's not competitive. You have to be lying about being a dev, there is no way. You do realize that leaving your game server open to attacks and exploits coming from the client side puts every player in danger. There is so much damage you can do when an MMORPG is coded this way. Day one of college, since you clearly didn't go: Never trust the client. Say it with me, never trust the client. This isn't about whether or not a none-competitive game should or shouldn't have exploit protection. This is about the fact that a unsecure server connected to 1000s of people was created. If you want an example of how scary this can be, look up the Log4j exploit that was being executed on Minecraft servers. You clearly know NOTHING about basic cyber security or how networking and servers work. Educate yourself and stop being a shill.
To answer your first question, no I'm not excusing the model they use. I pretty clearly express regret at not pushing back against it more. Also, I find your Minecraft example to be a very poor one. The log4j vulnerability, which stretched far beyond the game, was due to not sanitizing inputs in a third party tool for Java, which allowed for remote code execution. Nobody involved with Minecraft coded log4j, which was used ubiquitous in Java applications. Either way, I suggested a remedy for this, and tried to do so in a way that didn't make it look like I thought I was smarter than everybody else.
@@DadJokeCinema log4j is not a poor example. I was using it as an example of how a compromised game server can affect players negatively. I wasn't alluding to the method of attack. Players were being compromised as a direct consequence of the game server being compromised. That is a perfectly fine example. Also if you're not excusing their behavior, why repeat their extremely poor and clearly made up excuse. You're doing exactly what they want you to, which is mindlessly parrot the lies they decided to push forward. You have to have an IQ of 12 to actually believe they thought it was okay to build any online game in this manner. Incompetence was the clear issue here, stop being a shill. Edit: I rewatched the video and I stand corrected. The devs didn't come up with that excuse. You did! So you are literally doing what you just said you didn't do. Creating a reason out of thin air as to why they didn't build an MMO correctly, instead of just going with the safe assumption (incompetence), is you making accuses for them. Bro, at least remember what you said in your own video, you have watched it waaaay many more times than I have via editing.
@@DadJokeCinema Thanks for showing everyone that you clearly stand above the community, instead of with us. I hope you and the devs are having fun up there.
god forbid a f2p game gas microtransactions. What? it's only cosmetic? and it's completely optional and not required whatsoever? god how predatory, what will me and my wallet ever do? We gonna spend some money cause the clothes look nice and i like the game duh.
Mfs out here wanting cosmetic accessories for free in a f2p game when if its not a direct purchase. If you get shaving cream free with your razor then you are not buying the cream are you? Same with cats, but most ppl blow it out of the water with entitlement and cluelessness. But I’ll sure they add some earn-able or a base cat for free.
I hope they do add a robust pet and animal husbandry system and have it opened to everyone. That would be in line with the clothing system in place, where you get some stuff for free and pay for the fancy stuff.
if they making too much nerf/changes, player will leave, for me the 3 day early was enought and total 3days then logged of and removed game, way too boring lul :D There no really content/end game content xD

Just go to a cake party from LFG and turn 50 sweet leaf into 50k gold
It's tough when you first start out but honestly later it's pretty balanced. Especially once you get your farm going. I also make thousands a day just by chopping, mining, fishing and occasional bug catching and selling any excess I don't need.
No damn purple trees. If they do not add more I am out.
You are fun to listen to. Keep going! :)
I appreciate your testing on this issue. That was the same conclusion I came to.
I had a merge moment with someone who just laughed at me and I guess left... I'm assuming they laughed because I had nothing worth taking (they were running on a random letter name too lol).
I would love to invite you to my home lot anytime you wish =) been playing since 2 weeks before open beta so my place is growing still ,.... good coverage here
Hey, I'd like to see a Starfield let's play in the future.
Let me buy something that lets me get flow wood
It's so funny how mad people can get over a wheat farming simulator 😅
I'm not sure any comment will ever top describing Palia as a wheat farming simulator
@@DadJokeCinema love your videos btw :)
Grats on partner!
Just Subed mate keep the good work up
I hate the premium clothes and d not want a freaking cat
From what I heard, people with client side cheats were able to change their jump velocity, jump really high in their own plot and then glide all the way over to someone else their plot (since supposedly their are multiple housing plots loaded in on one server, they're just quite far apart in space).
Aside from that, really enjoyed the video and the tech details/insights! Instantly subscribed! :)
Basically right after publishing this, I was able to accidentally replicate something similar. There are some defenses against this, but it doesn't seem foolproof. They also changed a bit with the patch so you get teleported back to your plot if you go too far.
Congrats on partners
the problem about the cat is, the FIRST pet in the game is locked behind a paywall, like we have characters who would be great to give a quest to get this first pet, but the FIRST pet be a shop one? this open a very dangerous e ugly monetization line o thinking, if this first pet was a quest and they sell CLOTHES for the pets, my gosh would be incredible, the people jumping in to buy a hoddie for the cat, more than clothes for the character, but that looked very ugly, i kown they NEED money, everyone needs, but when you put the money as priority and not the game things get ugly, and yes i kown "oh, it is a reward for who used money" nhe, this don´t stick very well to me, they could gived clothes our a furnishing thing, but the first pet? and yes i konw the pet is only visual... everything in this game is only visual.
Ps: i like your videos, good work.
at least the game is free 🤷
@@caeraa6972 they chose to go free to play because is easy to get money being a nich mmorpg
But yeah... At least is free
(I lack real life depth perception due to born blind in one eye, I have stressed induced seizures so I needed something non-combative, and on top of everything, I have heart issues so dealing with jump scares is a no go, hell I play Minecraft on peaceful, and I still scared myself off a cliff into lava from a cow behind a tree I was chopping down... it's horrible, it's stupid, I hate this body of mine, and I just want to enjoy something just once that wasn't going to make me rage quit, even Minecraft started causing me constant migraines with new textures each update... just ugh!)
Years ago, they stated that there would be neighborhoods, not this go to a billboard on your lot to go visit a friends lot, but literally a neighborhood where you could walk down a road to your neighbors house, that's how they described it!
Pets are cosmetic, they have no impact on gameplay.
Thus putting them in the cosmetics shop makes perfect sense.
the "outrages" are still in the minority, most people are still enjoying the game
When my home got overlayed with someone else's I didn't realize what happened. I freaked out and tried to remove everything that wasn't where it should've been. I hope I didn't take someone else's stuff.
That sounds scary - I accidentally ended up on someone else's plot once and freaked out.
@@Manja500 Thanks for your feedback, Mitch
@@DadJokeCinema Thanks for showing everyone that you clearly stand above the community, instead of with us. I hope you and the devs are having fun up there.
@@Manja500 stop being a gamer for a moment and breath
god forbid a f2p game gas microtransactions. What? it's only cosmetic? and it's completely optional and not required whatsoever? god how predatory, what will me and my wallet ever do? We gonna spend some money cause the clothes look nice and i like the game duh.
The stuff you can buy in the game is all crap
Cool!
people are all Grrr your cash shop is bad!!! im like.... have you seen new world's or archeage? this cash shop is a joke, compared to other big games. people are crying over spilled milk.
I talked a lot about it in another video - I don't share a lot of the concerns and criticisms that others do, but I do see why people are upset. I'd rather it was done a different way, and communicated differently, but it's not something that has made me particularly angry.
I like how no one is pointing out that this company is called the SS (Singularity Six)
Ah! Like the american secret service!
