Got in the washing machine in the surf coming off Hurricane Fran in 1996 and thought I was a goner... I couldn't even stand up by the time I managed to get out of it- this dude was very lucky! Like I was. Respect to Aden and Wilder- their situational awareness probably saved that dude's life.
Brilliant rescue. In much less challenging conditions I once spent half an hour towing in a kayaker, who had lost his kayak and was caught in a strong rip. Finally got him to the beach and what did he do? He suggested he could swim out (exhausted and in gnarly storm surf) and try and get his kayak back, as it approached the horizon. Shock does bad things to people so don't say farewell till you've got them back to the car park.
What a bad situation for this guy. Hope he's ok. Seemed very confused and unstable when he got out of the water. All my respect for these two guys that noticed and knew how to act and fast. Very brave.
broke my neck surfing 3ft D”bah 22 years ago, “been in a chair since” i was instantly paralized floating face down drowning, a lone Japanese tourist dragged me out of the water saving my life..... i think about him every day and wish we could meet to say thank you.
Thankful the lifeguard go to him in time. Wow what a battle that other fought through and then was saved from drowning 👏 🙌 😳 . He has guardian angel in his presence ❤
I was there later that day, barley caught a wave took a solid beating and broke my board. Waves don't look too big but that was solid ground swell and the sets were pushing 7-8 feet. And everyone knows how heavy the hoek can get, and its far from anything, no life guards or ambulances coming for a while. Serious shit right here.
Spot looks sketch. Tough part about any spot where water is moving is coming on the right spot. Couldnt imagine trying to rescue someone and bring them in and break dance all over the reef
Surfers and boogie boarders save people all the time. Most the beaches around the World don't have life guards. If they do have life guards it's only during certain times of the year and at certain beaches. Most of the people saved by surfers are swimmers. The water gets too deep to touch the bottom and they get caught in the rip and can't get back to the beach. Most experienced surfers have saved several people during their years of being in the water.
It's crazy guys like JOB & his crew put themselves in way sic conditions and come up with a smile. Granted an occasional injury, but all in all they've been very lucky. 🌊🤙
They have super cardio and apnea. They are used to these kind of beatings. How many time did I get out of breath just by having to swim fast to avoid a set after taking a wave ? They are trained. Thats why they can surf waves that could kill us.
Salve galera, mais um exemplo da importância dos surfistas conhecerem as técnicas de resgate em água. Se informem! Respeito e paz na água, é isso ae. Abs
The bodysurfer doesn't look like he had Surf fins. Huge, HUGE mistake in that kind of surf. I have been a Bodysurfer since 1963, and I have been using CHURCHILL MACCAPO Surf fins since 1977. With fins this guy could have better dodged that inside hammering, treaded water between waves, or even GOT the hell out of there,FAST!
For those who have never experienced the low blood glucose condition as a type 1 diabetic, the condition was is hell and the rescuers stepped up and did exactly what is needed to avoid potential death of a critically incapacitated condition. From the view of a type 1 diabetic for over 48 years the rescuers did just what was needed to get him safe. Thank you from the T1D side of life!,,,
Damn the current was ripping on the inside. He better give them like minimum 500$ gift card each for saving his life and it's all Good. Slab on the head yikes.
Have to laugh at the "in shock" comment. There is no such thing in the medical world of "in shock" unless you are suffering from blood loss (hemorrhagic shock). Wish people would stop misusing the term.

Pretty sure thats Camps Bay shorey ...

Nah i could see how serious it was
@@konstruktus I also think it's Camps Bay because of that giant rock in the middle of nowhere. Fish Hoek's rocks are all to the side.
@marc handler ah cool, ta.
Man you could see his head snap when the wave got him. Pretty hard cored. Great rescue.
Amazing. Well done to Aden and Wilder, looking out for their fellow surfers.

What a heroic tandem ride and maybe a little bit of coverage for the two of them

The only thing more amazing than this rescue is knowing there are 39 assholes out there who gave this a thumbs down.

BODYSURFER ? Its a bodyboarder that lost his board. Of course he had fins.
great BROS!
Never Swim or Surf when High Tide. Anything can happen. Even you're the master of the swim or surf. Prolonged tired.
He a got a concussion just from the hydraulic forces. And not hitting the bottom? He must of hit bottom.Gnarly...
Luke George Yeah I guess that makes sense. Never heard of a concusion from a wave lip though. I am sure its happened before.

Shaken baby syndrom. I.e. raggdolled for real
Just what Surfers do, so we can sleep at night.

lifesaver
There's too much going on in this Video! I can't follow or see anything, there's too much to watch.
Wave 1 - he was off his boogie board and under distress. After that he could be cramped or fatigued. Great job guys!
This shit straight outta baywatch wtf
Damn the current was ripping on the inside. He better give them like minimum 500$ gift card each for saving his life and it's all Good. Slab on the head yikes.
Why rescue an idiot who stepped into the ocean without having learnt how to swim in it?
Well Aura-Fuckbag-Swim...maybe swimming with concussion is dificult?
The guy is extremely weak ....and criying for his mum!!!

So what does the medical world refer to that mind-numbing and cold sensation where you escape a near death situation?
