Felix Rose As .... Hey Felix! I can’t remember where I could that little one, but if I were to buy something similar, here’s your best bet: amzn.to/2LtgFbw
Great solution. I’ve just started to scratch my head today on this one and I think you saved me some time and trouble working out the way forward on this. Cheers.
Great video and idea! Just out of curiosity, which iPhone is that? The reason I ask is because I bought the iPhone XS Max and it seems to weigh too much to add a lens and have the Osmo Mobile 2 be able to handle it and the counterbalance weights. I am going to get the smaller iPhone once they announce the newer version.
So you've made a subscriber out of me. I also needed a removable system until the Moment gimbal releases. Watched your other vids and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Keep at it!
I have a smooth 3 and the bigger issue for me was that the moment case was too fat to fit in the clamps rubber bushings. I found, however, that they can be easily removed (they are just glued in) and the camera will fit much more securely.
Needed a counterweight for my Smooth 4 for a beach trip in a couple weeks. Awesome idea! Just picked up the 2 pack of arms through the link. Perfect for this, but useful for other stuff too. Thanks for the tip!
Parts List: -Cold shoe stand mount - amzn.to/2r4lFM0 -Camera Hot Shoe Mount to 1/4"-20 Tripod Screw Adapter - amzn.to/2HGDsDj -Friction arm - amzn.to/2HAgUQd
Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at that parts list. It doesn't seem to include that shallow 3-leg tripod that the Osmo is attached to when it on the table. Do you know what the name of that is? Thanks again.
Hi Mark, thanks for this! Have you tried this counterweight solution with Iphone mounted on Vertical Mode in Osmo Mob 2? My set up : Iphone 8 + Osmo Mobile 2 + Sandmark Wide Lens (71g) in Vertical Mode. And If it works as well , can you send me back Amazon Link for buying this ?
Ümit Pasin indefinitely can’t give you a hard ‘no’ in response. It’s secure, but it seems like the rubber bumpers are designed more for a naked phone, rather than a cased phone like 90% of people have. I’ve considered reshaping the rubber bumpers with an exacto knife, or just removing them altogether. But because it’s ... secure enough... I haven’t felt it worth the time at this point. Hope this helps!
This is brilliant! Too bad I just replaced my Osmo Mobile with the Freefly Movi and counterweight for my iPhone X and moment wide. Probably could have save loads of $$$ but I’m extremely happy with the Movi
Cool video! I recently ordered the moment case and the wide lens for my 7 Plus and I'm also about to buy an Osmo 2 and I'm really trying to figure everything out for some upcoming trips. To be honest I'm also looking for a DIY solution mainly because 40$ for the moment counterweight sounds like a ripoff (plus the fact that shipping fees and taxes bring the price up to 65$ for me). I'm still thinking that maybe gluing several coins and velcro-ing them might also work. Anyway, nice video, just subscribed to your channel!
Hi Mark, thanks for the video ! I like very much the little tripod that you're using beneath your gimbal. Could you tell me where to find it please ?

Ryan Hayes thanks Ryan!!
Is there any bad effect on gimbal if you put so much weight? Thanks
No, you’ll be fine.
Thanks for the video. That's a great looking short mount for the Osmo. Can you post a link to where you got it?

What about[ iPhone 7 ] with this new wide moment and osmo 2 ? Does it need counterweight??
Abdulrhman Bin-Break it definitely will, yes.
Great Video Mark, thanks
Thank you!
What is your phone model? I have a iphone 8 plus and osmo mobile 2. I’m planning to buy a moment lens. Is it suitable with 8 plus?
Ümit Pasin I’ve used this solution with a 7 + and iPhone X
Is phone case’s thickness a problem with osmo mobile 2? Thanks

Thanks for the vid! Just about to make the purchase of the Moment lenses and I have the Osmo Mobile 2 as well. Should be a solid setup now!
Dan Kurta don’t miss my discount links! Thanks for watching :) 👍👍👍
markmorinii yep! In the process of doing so. Can I get s sub back? My channel is still pretty raw.
Dan Kurta you got it.
You are brilliant! Thank you.
really thanks for the tips you save my life :-)
Do counterweights cause more stress to the motors? Or will it not be a problem?
JLT Yes good question. Theoretically yes... I haven’t had an issue or noticed any motor noise or jittering.
@@markmorinii ok cool. How long have you been using the counterweights?
JLT Yes since April
@@markmorinii"seems like a mighty long time"
moment battery case doesn't compatible with osmo mobile 2 :/ gotta buy new regular case
Have you tried removing the rubber bumpers from the osmo? I did that with mine for the regular case.

Alvaro Tellez I’ve tried the coins and Velcro and it just looks terrible. Here’s 10% off Moment bit.ly/10offMARKMORINii
Great video. I just sub’d - might have been 1000th?
+TheBonjela100 yes you were!!! Thank you 🙏 !!!!!
Why do you look like a skinny version of Jake Gyllenhaal? Nice vid btw
This is my favorite comment.
