Yeah - ha. I hope so. Got the fist list from the garage and not too bad BUT that is just the static checkover. They have yet to tell me what the drive picked up. 🤨 This will be a long one.. Next video will go over all the issues and what will be done. Ade
Umm.. well, the listing was very comprehensive but it was a risk, and possibly a silly one. Time will tell. Depends on what needs doing and how easy it is in principle to sell on. Ade

Yeah, I noticed that myself once I started looking at how many of these cars are actually out there. Certainly a rare car. I can't recall seeing one in the last few decades. Ade
Wow. I have not seen one of these for a LONG time and I fo to a lot of sports car meets. Actually, you don't see a lot of 944s never mind 924s. The Porsche world is dominated by 911s.
Agreed. I am now not so sure I have ever seen one before this as the cars I saw might have been 924 Turbos with a Carrera GT body kit on which was fairly common apparently. Ade
Great vid. Nice one. Engine and turbo parts might not be so bad. The car is old school so technically anybody can work on it. You may have done well here. ✌️ 🤞
Transmission is race setup why first is where its at....trying to recall there a paper tag inside rear hatch above rear lights.. part of numbers there if again trying to recall 100 indicates limited slip...ill have to check parts book...
@@RevMonkey ill see if can find those numbers...one other easy way if it's up on a lift put in gear and spin tires/tyre...if both rotate same direction ...limited slip...very desirable
I'm the lucky owner of one of them. This car is a beast, you must learn to drive it as it's behaving weird, but once you get use to it it's a fantastic sport car, a real sport car requiring a real pilot as it has a very nervous engine.... Long time ago I was driving on German highway at 260 which is the end of tachometer and the car was still gaining speed !
Ha. cool. Epic looking cars and perhaps even undervalued as a special classic. I love the aggressive looks of the car and it really stands out, even today. Mine is still with the garage getting it all nice and up to spec. Looking forward to getting it back! Have you got the black, red or white? All standard? Ade
@@gb2859Nice. It looks best in red. I cannot find out much more info on the car, such as maintenance, things to look out for. Is there a forum or group? Cheers Ade
I’ve had mine for about 27 years now, love it to bits - mine is Silver number 356 - anorak moment - all the Production ones were Red, Black or Silver - the White ones were pre-production models. I thought all UK cars had sunroofs - maybe yours is another rhd market car? The great thing with these is with only 210bhp you can pretty much exploit all the power without losing your licence. Mine is looking a bit tatty but its patina - once you try and restore them they don’t look right. One of the Porsche centres, I think Silverstone, restored one as part of a dealer turbo resto project and to my mind ruined it. They were thrown together quickly as Le Mans homologation cars and the panel gaps were no where near “proper” Porsche production standards. @@RevMonkey
@@DavidJones-cf6ph Interesting stuff. Mine is supposed to be a UK car and the VIN confirms it. Currently, getting a new turbo fitted. Most else seems fine. I am yet to actually drive the car as it was meant to be and look forward to it and they are supposed to be timeless drivers cars. It is at Autofficina near Epsom getting all the work done and I did see it last weekend. It did not look out of place with a load of Ferraris and Lambos. Looks epic. Lots of presence. Ade
Ha good spot. No, the seller didnt have the back plate so we stuck another one on that was laying around to get me home. As it happens, the car was going so slowly I would have never triggered a camera. Thanks for the reminder though!! I need to order one. Ade
Well, I was just loking around for cars that I think I can do some good content on and then sell it on for the same money. The jury is out on this one! Let's see! 😁 Ade
It is on my spreadsheet in the description on my 25 Dream Drives video. It was around £42k which is likely a bargain BUT the car is still at the garage for a lot of work. After that, I do intend to enjoy it for a bit, go to shows, and then sell it on for somebody else to enjoy. Ade

@@robinpelletstovesuk9194 Yeah true. People are focused on the £1.3M Carrera GT and any GT 911 or Cayman. The mount falling off reminds me of that picture falling on your head that time. So funny. 👍😁
Ha, yeah, that was so funny. That I have these things on film is very lucky.

🤣
Got me interested. I loved these 80s cars with big wings; E36 M3, Quattro, early integrales, golf Rallye, Renault Turbo 1. Epic era.
Aye. That is my era really. I was a lover of the Group B hooligans. I did have an integrale and LOVED it.
Ade
Looks totally mean in black. I vaguely remember this car. I forgot how it looks. So 80s but so desirable.
Yeah, it is surely a car of that era but somehow looks amazing.
Okay, I might be biased but I prefer the looks of this to the Cayman!
Ade
Damn. A forgotten icon. People harp on about the Carrera GT as is pushes over a million but this one should be next to jump up in price.
Hope so! But the next owner will likely get that benefit. I just fancied the project to get it up straight!

An icon in its day. Very rare car. There are hardly any out there for sale from my initial look. Hope parts are readily available.
Me too. I will out. I expect to hear back from the garage doing the work this week.
Certainly a rare car.

Made me laugh as usual mate. Honestly, was like a comedy show and your timing was excellent 🤣🤣
Thanks again for the nice comment. Much appreciated. This will be an interesting series!

Can't believe that car is now over 40 years old I mean WTAF. Makes me feel old! 👵
😁 Absolutely. Amazing really. 42 years ago this car was born unto the world. You'd never really know from 5 yards away.

Did you get a chance to look the car over before buying it? If not, then that is, as you say, brave or silly. Though one has to take risks to prosper.

This is SO COOL. Love a car like that. What actual year was this one born, so to speak? Amazing.
1981 - they only made 400 over a couple of years. Hard to believe really. It needs a bit of love but looks pretty contemorary.

Yes!
