Is this real good for throwing light lures? Am thinking actually using it for my crankbaiting, mostly using 3/8 to 5/8 oz lures.

yes it is.. i can cast 4 gram lure, easily.. however, it also depends on what type of rod you use, which means the action of the rod, its length, its poundage, etc..
