When I think about Xbox's whole reason for entering into the industry being fueled by negative intent, I think that this is where they led themselves. They could have been fueled by genuine competition from the very start and had a group of people at Microsoft having true interest in the field and wanted to contribute to it with, so they could be part of the history of the game's industry, but it was just to force their logo at the top of the software pyramid. A slow death to give them a view of their own actions?

I’m going be honest. I’ve never really understood the entire “Sony bought X studio’s, so why aren’t you calling them out?” group of people. Do they not know that the studios that Sony acquired were making games exclusively for the PlayStation platform years BEFORE they were officially acquired? One of the main reasons being that SCE was directly funding those projects at the time. The only exceptions being Bungie, and the one game Insomniac made for Xbox. I mean, it’s the same thing every time with them.

I will use myself as an example, I was going to buy Lies pf P at full price!!! But I see it is come in the game pass, so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna buy gamepass for one month beat it and then cancel my subscription. There is also the fact if I was a PlayStation only gamer there is no way I would pay full price for knowing that they put it heavily discounted on a competing platform that I don’t have. What is nice is that the multiple updates CD Projekt RED did to their game were all server side and did not take up my designated play time as is the case with console game updates.

Google shut down Stadia and refunded all of my money, so I have no lasting complaints as they did right by me. However, I don't think game streaming is viable unless there is a significant investment in infrastructure so that more datacenters are placed closer to populations deemed most likely to use cloud gaming services. It is one thing for Microsoft to spend billions on a general global strategy to increase datacenters for _Office 365,_ but it isn't helping improve Ping in most of these cases, so latency remains an issue when datacenters stream games.
I never believed game streaming would work because of the limitations of physics. Nothing can exceed the speed of light, and streaming works by bouncing light off the inside of a fibre optic cable so it zig-zags further than the substantial distance between your Google Chrome browser and Google's datacenter. Halve the distance and it might be more responsive to interactive entertainment, but ideally it needs to be a quarter of what it is and that requires a huge infrastructure investment which eclipses the cost of 'selling' consoles to everyone at a loss.
So, I believe (without a substantial infrastructure investment that I don't forsee happening) that cloud gaming is not a good fit for Microsoft's much hoped for _Call of Duty_ acquisition. I believe that all their talk about losing the console war and wanting to get an early advantage in the emerging cloud streaming market is a distraction from their real plans to remove _Call of Duty_ from PlayStation next-gen. They may even stop making XBOXes and shift to PC only. They may try to kill Steam by having Windows 12 regard it as malware. They don't tolerate parasites on their business like Valve, even though they have been parasites themselves since their inception, making huge profits off the hard work of others:

Streaming was always a distraction and me talking about it as much as I have is to demonstrate that I have given it proper thought as to whether it could become a thing.

TH-cam randomly recommended me this video so i thought i'd voice my take on the matter, as someone who's been playing on PC and playstation since the PS1 / Pentium 3 days both xbots and you sony ponies need to realize you're not doing anyone a favor by fighting each other rather than realizing and making your voice heard about what you expect from these companies, you made a comment on how we don't want crash bandicoot ? it's ironic and shows how much of a casual you are despite your "you havent been gaming long enough" talk cuz if you actually played on the PS1 you'd realize how it was one of the franchises that made naughty dog who they are today and paved the way for them to give us jax and daxter, uncharted and TLOU, xbox's catalog is 90% trash however the fact that Ninja Theory still exists proves it isn't all hopeless (Hellblade 2 is also gonna be on game pass day 1 btw).
There's absolutely no comparison between the catalog of exclusives, even going as far as the original xbox vs ps2 and even the 360 vs ps3 in it's late stages, i completely skipped out on the xbox one until way late in its life cycle since gears and halo kept getting copy pasted for their brainless bots to gobble up each time, forza and state of decay have also suffered the same fate which i've noticed ninja theory is legitimately the only studio to escape (mainly because they actually take their time and don't pump games out every 2 - 3 years and they make actual good narrative driven story games).
Another point i'd like to throw out there, stop pretending y'all don't care about bethesda's games anymore, fallout 4 sold double on the PS4 than the xb1 and it's the best selling fallout game to come out from them, same thing with skyrim's special edition, if you're unaware of how big the playstation bethesda fanbase is you're the casual who hasn't been around long enough here, be kind to each other and look towards playing good games, whichever side they come from.
How is doc dark wrong? Having more ways to play a game other then being locked to one piece of hardware is good for gamers. Nothing kingthrash said means a thing.

Microsoft and Tencent are both bad. They're like rival players for different teams but they're playing the same sport. But they're still way better than PlayStation. Not morally but in practical outcomes. Anyone not gargling Sony's nuts can see that.
