I never knew the importance of sound treatment until I did it. The sound felt closer to me like it was directly in front of my face, improved direction and separation. The volume didn't need to be high anymore and dialog was clearer. Night and day difference.

Gik is great to work with, they helped with my theater, everyone defintely should take advantage of their services and products. They are very well priced for high quality panels.
When I experimented by placing a thick blanket on my rear wall, I might have gotten rid of the rear reflections. However, I seem to have lost some of the depth within my two channel soundstage, too. Managed to kill two birds with one stone by replacing the thick blanket with a g i k 50/50 diffusion/absorption panel (the impression series, I think) The funny thing is at frist I actually didn't like the way the room sounded with the acoustic panel. It took about 2 weeks before I started to realise the true benefits. Confirmation came after trying to take it down 😮
Conclusion;
Giving it a couple of weeks before making a judgement.
1. Position of stereo speakers. Got to get them away from the walls to experience a full-on 2-channel soundstage
2. Placement of the MLP. For one to experience the best bass, one has to get the couch off the back wall.
3. Room treatment. To bring it all home

Well done gentlemen. Installing the right room treatments make a huge difference in sound and can make your speakers come alive. I have an open concept living room that opens to the kitchen and front entry way. I got some GIK panels it wasn't an easy task because I had to convince my wife first. She finally agreed and I ordered and installed absorption panel on the front wall behind the LCRs and ordered and installed absorption/diffusion panels at the first and second reflection points. This move has made a huge difference. My system sounds big, dialog is clear, and the dynamic range is wide. I'm glad I invested in the GIK Acoustic panels. Highly recommend.
Nice! Treating a living room is a challenge when it comes to the wife approval factor. Sounds like you did well.
With a dedicated room like that and the desire to get the best sound you really must buy a usb microphone and measure the room using REW. Otherwise it’s just guesswork.
It can look daunting but you’d be amazed how quickly you get your head around it. Once you start measuring you really begin to understand, not only what your room is doing , but what the equipment is doing. That’s when you can tease the best performance out of what you have. Crossovers, subwoofer positioning and eq.

Looks great! From what research I've done it actually pretty easy + cheap to make the absorption panels yourself. Which would be one way to save some money. I guess you could also go with some interesting designs like movie posters to add some interest. Great video.

6:54 I got the same issue with not enough room between my ceiling and my screen. So i used short metal hooks for this situation. Mounted them on the inside, so nothing is visible. They are just simpel screws with a hole and the other ones have hooks to connect them. Cheap too. It helped a bit but i am stil waiting to get my carpet in and to get the final touch done. As if we are ever done with our rooms 🤣🤣🤣
Is it possible to over-deaden a room?

Acoustic treatment is great, even one step at a time. Mine is super cheap, rather ugly, but very helpful.

I would like to know the sizing of the panels to give an idea of sizing for my room
They are available in many different sizes. 2’ x 4’, 2’ x 3’, 2’ x 2’, 1’ x 4’ etc. lots of different options.

This 💯💯💯💯. I love my Gik absorbers, diffuser’s and bass traps but Magic Beans brought my system to a new level.
I hung mine. You just need a pack of "s" hooks and eylet screws into the ceiling
