When QB does that, he will get sacked many times and unfortunately for the offensive line , it will make them look as if they cannot protect the Quarterback.

Was at the game Monday. There was no adjustment to what the Rams were doing. RUN THE BALL! KOC had too much confidence in a bad O line that hasn’t been addressed for years! Center n guards were thrown around like rag dolls by bigger, stronger, quicker D linemen. No blitzes needed.
If we can land a franchise qb who performs well under pressure, we have enough other pieces in place now to be a competitive sb team. I really hope Mccarthy is our guy. I'm tired of recycling washed up QBs.

We need the play caller OC CALLING PLAY FROM THE BOOTH not KOC on the sidelines. You can see the game much better from the booth. What I'm trying to say is take the play calling away from KOC.
For the 1st problem he needs to look in the mirror, he called the same game in Detroit, and Glendale. This guy refuses to make in game changes. All real coaches make in game changes. O'Connell did not in either game. Did Sam hold the ball too long, yes, but Lions and Rams both sent unblocked blitzed, O'Connell never went to the screens, delayed draw, he did nothing to make the blitzers think for a half second. O'Connell failed to adjust, and everybody failed!

He set the QB up for success and failure all at the same time. Flores overthinks and over schemes the over-rated defense. Smoke and mirrors. JJ McCarthy was winning the starting job in training camp before his injury. The Vikings success this season had alot to do with a much easier schedule than other teams in the playoffs. Nine of there 14 wins this season came against teams with a losing record. The coaching in the last two games wasn't very good there was no scheme to allow the QB to succeed.

look at the film for the last two games and darnold completely folded under pressure. over/underthrown most balls when he did have a set an attempted a pass. many wide open receivers that he never acknowledged. that mixed with an abysmal o line of course we will never win anything that matters
In all the games we loss is when the oppoents scored High 20+ points. It seems like the Vikings defense needs to take some responsibility for allowing the points.
Just being honest Kevin O’Connell should be fired and the first one to go, followed by Darnold and half of the offense line. I blame the coaching and lack of it during the last two games. There was a poor game plan and no adjustments after half time that tells you a lot about the coach. What happen to quick short / slant passes those must not have been in the play book or could Darnold just not be able complete those types of passes? Very disappointed with the game plan and coaching.
Dear KOC: when you finally get a TD in a game where you are being outplayed, TAKE THE ONE-POINT CONVERSION. Don't go for two--since you won't get them--and lower the morale of your team even further. As a Ram's fan, I understand the heartbreak of a qb not playing his best football. Sure, Stafford's a good qb. But he has gone through periods of being intercepted more than was tolerable. When this happens, the whole team seemed to play out of balance. And being in the playoffs, everyone escalates to a much higher level of emotions. Whatever happens to Darnold, I wish him the very best. Having a 14 game winning season, allows the Vikings to take a better look at what worked, as opposed to what didn't. You guys have an excellent coach, as O'Connell did so much for the Rams, when he was there.
Watching the 9 sacks the play calling is attrocious. Need a blitz hot route. Need short routes. Darnold needs to throw the ball. Fun season, Darnold choked but also no help from the scheme.
Sam is a good quality backup QB lot going on that could have been better but when pressure on a QB causes so much confusion and uncertainty many missed throws the need for a calm cool and collected leader was on full display and yes we certainly could have used better protection up front in the interior O line certainly would have helped the situation .
It’s the NFL, this isn’t college. This guy is a good man, a good coach. But the physicality of his teams show that he is more of a finesse leader. In the NFL in the playoffs you need to be a physical team to win in playoffs and in nationally televised games. His record in hard situation’s.
Agree that finesse trams can win in the regular season but not in the playoffs. Vikings defense had moments but is too gimmicky relying on blitzes not physicality. That was exposed too

Kevin is a great coach. I do not want to lose him. He’s a great leader of men, but maybe he needs to get a offensive coordinator to call please they can both work together but the Rams and the Lions knew what we were doing. We were going for that long and we did not adjust, not like Seattle or Buffalo with the quick hitters and when they came up, they went for the long ball. We did not adjust like that. Kevin will learn from that and get better in our coach.

Defense gives up third downs way to often. You guys have to remember this is his third year the first year he did good. We had a horrible defense then the Kovic year now this year he will get better. We will get better. This is a process think about it guys. We were only supposed to win six gamesand we won 14. It takes time look at Detroit. This is their second one third year and the runnings we’re going to get there give them time they will make the adjustments Vikings forever.
Quick game would have helped a lot. Looked like a Madden called game. Most of the time Darnold didn't have a chance and when linemen just get beat there isn't a whole lot you can do when you are expecting them to hold up.
It was Sams first time in playoffs i think he did great anyways and should make some adjustments next year. There were plenty of times he could have ran the ball but instead took a sack. He can improve his athleticism and run the ball like josh allen or lamar jackson. He doesn't have to be a speed monster like Michael Vick but he could at least run the ball a few yards instead of taking a negative sack.

JJ McCarthy was winning the starting job in training camp before his injury. The Vikings success this season had alot to do with a much easier schedule than other teams in the playoffs. Nine of there 14 wins this season came against teams with a losing record. The coaching in the last two games wasn't very good there was no scheme to allow the QB to succeed.

look at the film for the last two games and darnold completely folded under pressure. over/underthrown most balls when he did have a set an attempted a pass. many wide open receivers that he never acknowledged. that mixed with an abysmal o line of course we will never win anything that matters
KOC probably lost a big chunk off his next contract too. Hopefully he learns to do better, a lot of the issues are on him too.

In all the games we loss is when the oppoents scored High 20+ points. It seems like the Vikings defense needs to take some responsibility for allowing the points.

Just being honest Kevin O’Connell should be fired and the first one to go, followed by Darnold and half of the offense line. I blame the coaching and lack of it during the last two games. There was a poor game plan and no adjustments after half time that tells you a lot about the coach. What happen to quick short / slant passes those must not have been in the play book or could Darnold just not be able complete those types of passes? Very disappointed with the game plan and coaching.
Dear KOC: when you finally get a TD in a game where you are being outplayed, TAKE THE ONE-POINT CONVERSION. Don't go for two--since you won't get them--and lower the morale of your team even further. I'm sorry, but some things are obvious, especially after being unable to do ANYTHING in the Redzone for the last two games.

As a Ram's fan, I understand the heartbreak of a qb not playing his best football. Sure, Stafford's a good qb. But he has gone through periods of being intercepted more than was tolerable. When this happens, the whole team seemed to play out of balance. And being in the playoffs, everyone escalates to a much higher level of emotions. Whatever happens to Darnold, I wish him the very best. Having a 14 game winning season, allows the Vikings to take a better look at what worked, as opposed to what didn't. You guys have an excellent coach, as O'Connell did so much for the Rams, when he was there.

Sam is a good quality backup QB lot going on that could have been better but when pressure on a QB causes so much confusion and uncertainty many missed throws the need for a calm cool and collected leader was on full display and yes we certainly could have used better protection up front in the interior O line certainly would have helped the situation .
It’s the NFL, this isn’t college. This guy is a good man, a good coach. But the physicality of his teams show that he is more of a finesse leader. In the NFL in the playoffs you need to be a physical team to win in playoffs and in nationally televised games. His record in hard situation’s.

Agree that finesse trams can win in the regular season but not in the playoffs. Vikings defense had moments but is too gimmicky relying on blitzes not physicality. That was exposed too

Sam Darnold, the coaches, the Oline just proved why the football world had them in doubt! Now they are the laughing stock of the football world. Never made adjustments, The defense showed up to play the last two games but not the offence or coaches.
Sam was very tentative, very frustrating to watch. Time to move on.

Kevin is a great coach. I do not want to lose him. He’s a great leader of men, but maybe he needs to get a offensive coordinator to call please they can both work together but the Rams and the Lions knew what we were doing. We were going for that long and we did not adjust, not like Seattle or Buffalo with the quick hitters and when they came up, they went for the long ball. We did not adjust like that. Kevin will learn from that and get better in our coach.

Defense gives up third downs way to often. It seems like first downs are running plays.And no Quarterback should hold the ball more then two seconds if possible.Not sure why you hired Backups if you didn't use them,Sam is good but should have been replaced after 1st quarter. You guys have to remember this is his third year the first year he did good. We had a horrible defense then the Kovic year now this year he will get better. We will get better. This is a process think about it guys. We were only supposed to win six gamesand we won 14. It takes time look at Detroit. This is their second one third year and the runnings we’re going to get there give them time they will make the adjustments Vikings forever.
KOC won’t have Darnold to blame for his lack of play calling ability next year.

That was not an incomplete pass. It was a fumble. The officials made the wrong call.
Quick game would have helped a lot. Looked like a Madden called game. Most of the time Darnold didn't have a chance and when linemen just get beat there isn't a whole lot you can do when you are expecting them to hold up.
It was Sams first time in playoffs i think he did great anyways and should make some adjustments next year. There were plenty of times he could have ran the ball but instead took a sack. He can improve his athleticism and run the ball like josh allen or lamar jackson. He doesn't have to be a speed monster like Michael Vick but he could at least run the ball a few yards instead of taking a negative sack.
KOC needs to look in the mirror as well. The Viking offense was not ready for that game.
That’s right McConnell is absolutely fantastic. Coach and the Vikings would be stupid to get rid of him and I think they know that the Vikings problem has always been their quarterback situations oh and let’s not forget the secondary. How do you fix that? I don’t know but I hope they fix it Cause I love the Vikings.

Coaching, game preparation, clock management, not to mention the pour choice with a minute and 30 seconds in the half, to go for it on 4th down was plain dumb. The offensive line sucked and Darnold was over pressured. As for as I'm concerned, it's mostly on the head coach and defensive coordinator!! Period!!
