    5 years ahead is some foresight. Great to see jonnie pop his head in. Janet was sweating like a geordie in a spelling test, fair play. Keep going folks

    Considering how those 'extensions' will make a nice leeward spot to sit and enjoy a cold frosty, you could call them 'Coopers Scoops'!

    On a positive note. When this is all done, you’ll always have a job moonlighting at a surfboard factory, shaping and glassing surfboards 😊

    Mate looks the goods. You are right about the gaps between give you a better grip. Don’t ever cut those anti slip moulds up. You could sell that stuff by the meter to others👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. It’s going to look great..

    Ross, if a trim ring is one of the few misses on foresight, it is nothing short of phenomenal. If you ever get out of the boat building business, you may consider a second calling as a fortune teller.

    Roscoe another enjoyable episode. You make the joining of frp panels look so easy! I wonder what % of your viewers realize the effort required to get such spectacular finishes!
    Would it not be easier to "paint" on an anti slip using resin mixed with some sort of hard granules?

  • @gunnarfernqvist4896
    @gunnarfernqvist4896 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those gaps in between the anti-slip will be great for dispersing rain and bathing water and keeping the anti-slip more dry and less slippery.

    So much forethought and detail. I agree with Janet and John, stop the moaning and get on with it. The underside mold template and the cardboard cutouts will work fine. Crack on, fall is coming.

    Youl be able to make a fine negative from those antislip pads so you can make more anti slip pads.

  • @latitudeash

    Ross has a Cristal ball and that’s how you know you needed the anti-slip….that or it came to you in a dream/ premonition. I simply can not see it being down to being organised and well planned ahead of time, that’s Janet’s expertise. 🤣😂

    Are you still getting inspections like when you were doing the hulls?

    • @LifeOnTheHulls
      @LifeOnTheHulls  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have given up on following an absurd system where our boat can be chartered. The cost each inspection was $5000 which was recorded by a government agency so it can be used as a charter boat.Annual fee is $16000 to remain survey.Ross

    Sorry on this one you should have just “ kiwi griped “ the whole thing I’ve had it in place for over 10 years … and never been more happy. Your over thinking this simple thing

    • @LifeOnTheHulls
      @LifeOnTheHulls  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have kiwi grip on our other boats,runabout and yacht and I have too aggressive texture I know I could done I have matched the remainder of the boat which is mire important.All will be flexible teaked later in its life as we will get it on the water ad is first.This was dead simple to do.Ross

    • @davidcummings6299
      @davidcummings6299 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LifeOnTheHulls
      your right if you straight up roll the Kiwi per instructions you can get an aggressive texture.. I had this happen on a 20 footer I restored solved it by block sanding the tips off with 220 grit.
      but on a second boat I learned Kiwi can be thinned with water . This provides a much less aggressive finish . Also figured I could get custom coloring from a local paint supplier.
      But your right you can do this at anytime depending on how good your molded surface is.
      I’ve also had good luck using thickened gel coat with a silicon mold pulled from the original none skid texture
