I've neglected our old Q1000 for a few years and just sprayed the lid and bowl with high temperature paint and it's currently baking on the patio. Really pleased with how it's come out
Good job. Good video. I have to laugh at all the people who ask what paint you’ve used. They are too lazy and can’t be bothered looking at your description…. Lazy people DO NOT DESERVE WEBERS!
Hi i want to resto my lid as i run a powdercoat line, just out of curiosity we bake at 200 Celsius to cure.will it burn when using the bbq if it goes over that or will the powder coat be fine.thankyou
@@WeberEnthusiast it wasn’t that cold and baked low. I have read a review to say the paints dry matt. Because I’ve done it in the red, it’s only recommended up to 300 degrees so I’ll coat in the high heat clear, which should also give it more of a shine
@@Lord_Jon Aha , you can get Heat resistant clear lacquer in Hi temp to give it a gloss Finish . The paint I used went up to 300 + . Not sure why yours went Matt Finnish unless it had Matt paint in instead of Satin or gloss
If powder coating has gone you would have to use more heat resistant primer on it . Though I would be inclined to buy another lid or get re powder coated as there is less chance of the heat resistant paint peeling from powder coat or dis colouring.
Thankyou for support really appreciated, it seems weird when I cook now it’s like having a New Baby Q. The paint is grease resistant aswell being engine enamel. 👍👍
I’d look at getting it repowder coated . I find with the powder coat the heat resistant paint won’t peel in yrs to come . My family q I sprayed 7 yrs ago is still as good as the day I sprayed it satin black.
Not that I know of , Weber will replace them under warranty if q is still under 5yr warranty. Though I have known them change them for free if they have started to rust even when warranty has run out . You have to email them photos on the customer service email address. Hope this helps 👍🔔
Don’t need it as keyed the powder coat which I demoed in video . Don’t remove the powder coat as that is the best protection of aluminium, plus low bake like I do in video 👌👌
Sorry if I offended you it was a miss type in my editing. I was up until 2am editing so a little tired and didn’t pick it up on play back. Thanks for pointing out .I’ll edit it later
Link should be in the description, it was engine block enamel paint , you can use calliper paint aswell. Hope this helps thanks for watching and support really appreciated 👍🛎

So glad I could help give your q a new lease of life .
It’s surprising how good they come up 👍👍🔔
Good job. Good video. I have to laugh at all the people who ask what paint you’ve used. They are too lazy and can’t be bothered looking at your description…. Lazy people DO NOT DESERVE WEBERS!
That came out awesome!
Have you come across a Q where the powdercoating has started to flake off exposing the aluminium underneath?
Any tips?
Never had this , I’ve seen a few on marketplace and if it was me I’d just buy a new lid or look at getting it stripped and repowdercoated 👍
I keep my Weber Q clean but I like the well used look.
I’ve seen a few bad ones when demonstrating for Weber at Xmas time .
I do love a clean Weber .👍👍🔔
Top work man! Loved the video as always! Your paint work is awesome, can't wait to give mine the ol treatment.
Have a good one bloke.
Cheers really appreciated, let me know what colour you do yours in the comments. 👍👍🔔
Great work ! I love the colour
Thankyou really appreciate support 👍👍
Wish I could get this colour in the uk
Ford blue Dean!!!!
I noticed..lol.
Maybe we should do ours shiny Holden Red with black bonnet stripes!!!
My Eldest said it’s Ford Rs blue 😂
Good stuff!
Thankyou really appreciate great comment and support of my channel 👍👍
I use the engine block paint upto 500 degrees, when I use my Webber now it’s smell like paint is there something I can do to get rid of that smell?
The smell will die down overtime.
Did you bake it on like I did in the video , that stopped mine smelling.

Top job mate, looks fantastic, top colour.

No the powder coat should be fine .
As the Q comes with powder coat paint as new 👍👍
@@WeberEnthusiast excellent thankyou👍👍
Nice! How is the paint holding?
Awesome, been 3 months now and still strong , I did family q 5 yrs ago and that still looks as good as the day I refurbished it
I like that color on that. Do they offer them in that color. Looks great.
In the US and UK. Just not Australia . Only 3 colours here
You are the man all the paint on the very top has peeled off and it looks cheap and nasty what should I do you think
Have you painted it before or is the powdercoat peeling , as i lightly sanded mine so the heat resistant paint would adhere to the powdercoat
@@WeberEnthusiast I think it’s the original I brought it off gumtree and I think it’s been neglected and left out in the Australian sun for years
Awesome job as always!
Thankyou really appreciate continued support 👍👍
Did you use a high temperature paint? What was the colour code of the blue ?
Yes , the one I used was dupli colour blue
Red spray paint in the uK link came up a Matt finish. Should I have done something different to make it gloss?
Should come up as satin finish , if you have sprayed on cold day paint will absorb moisture and be dull. Did you bake on low as I did in the video

How would you do this if the original powder coating has gone in a few places please?

Looks mint. 👍

How would you fix the scratched body?
I’d look at getting it repowder coated .

My family q I sprayed 7 yrs ago is still as good as the day I sprayed it satin black.
Looks like u used a caliper paint. Is this food safe too?
It’s on the outside , so it’s fine it doesn’t peel as it bakes to the powder coat as I demo in video .
Did my family Q 8 yrs ago and I’m still alive 😂
@@WeberEnthusiast thank you for replying. How many cans of paint did you use?
@@bry120 just one large can from memory . Don’t to do heavy plenty of lite coats 👌👌
Is it possible to restore the porcelain coating of the grille?
