I have a funny story about the garter removal thing. So my family is Indian and we don’t that at our weddings. I didn’t even know it was a thing until my cousin’s wedding a few years ago when he married his Hispanic girlfriend. Me and all the elders on our side of the family were just like “What the fuck is going on?” And I literally averted my eyes because I didn’t know what he was doing and was just thinking, “Oh my god, please don’t give her a lap dance in front of Baa & Bapuji.” (grandma and grandpa)

Here in my country there's no wedding without a drunk uncle, a family's friend wearing a ridiculous dress with a big wide skirt, the typical teenagers guys wearing jeans and tennis shoes in stead of wearing a formal suit, and have a five time dinner, there are entrées, first service(soup), second service(fish or overcooked meat both with salad) and dessert or wedding cake and the spicy food served after 3am when most of the people is still in the party dancing or getting drunk.
