    Too bad T'Lyn wasn't there... her Vulcan body would have aged, yes, but they live for centuries so she could have easily go and get those crystals.

    Even if there’s little to no fear of death or permanent injuries, there’s still the trauma that comes from bodily harm. That’s what I like so much about shows like this.

    To be honest I was expecting Jennifer to join in the mission with Mariner in this episode so she could work things out with Mariner by amending this misunderstanding back in season 3 and be just friends.

      I've been rather irked by the fact that we've gotten 0 resolution for that entire thing. The two of them where cute together I want to see them make up because iI think it would of been good for Mariner to have jennifer in her corner during all this struggle to just get over her fears and rank up.

    • @centurionquincy3899
      @centurionquincy3899 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes…
      But notice it isn’t “aging” or “de-aging” them. It is time dilation and a bio-temporal flux.
      I think that means (and I’m guessing here) that you will always return to your base self. So he would likely just feel the pain of the leg breaking all over again as he left the age down area

    • @SlideIX
      @SlideIX ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@centurionquincy3899 but when he left the time dilation his leg was still missing, if we go by your premise then it should of reattached and returned to its freshly broken state. With that knowledge we can assume quantum mechanics is applied, that means natural cause and effect no longer follow the normal flow of time and possible might not apply at all (to quote Cpt Janeway “in quantum mechanics you must remember effect can proceed cause”).
      So my working theory is that the chromotons were effecting the aging process and dragging him to the de-aging type should work.
      I am open to opposing theories and points of view so please feel free to share why I could be wrong, I’m interested

      With the idea of the leg not reforming into the freshly broken state, that brings up a new thought:
      It doesn’t change the BODY age but instead ages the CELLS.
      That would explain it.
      Which would mean the leg would age backwards, but it wouldn’t heal.
      He would essentially have a younger broken leg, instead of his current broken leg, just like how he just had an older broken leg.

    • @julianmarco4185
      @julianmarco4185 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@centurionquincy3899But then his leg shouldn't have healed or been affected by the aging radiation.
      All of that was for the Rick and Morty joke of a leg falling off.
      And when he went back, he should be bleeding on the ground like crazy.

    • @SlideIX
      @SlideIX ปีที่แล้ว

      @@centurionquincy3899 cellular aging of biomass 🤔 that would make it so the body could become younger or rapidly age without it actually returning a persons body to an earlier form in linear time. Ok yes, that could explain why they can’t use the phenomenon to actually heal him fully if that is what’s going on. Shame neither of us can confirm our theories but it was fun thinking them up 🤷‍♂️

    I really dislike how this show treats body injuries as no big deal just so they can have body horror jokes. Sorry but Trek characters would never destroy their limbs like that.
    And I've observed that it's always the men suffering the more painful body gag jokes. Why isnt it Mariner with the broken leg that falls off? It's always the guys

      Well Star Trek IV had pills that made kidneys regrow, so regrowing a leg or two is no big deal.

    • @TheNN
      @TheNN ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I mean...in fairness, Starfleet probably has psychological training to help cope with loss of limbs and such. Growing new ones is so routine as to be commonplace is probably why we don't see Star Trek going all cyberpunk except in extreme cases such as Geordi's VISOR. Nog lost a leg, and got a whole episode after that, not about the lost leg (heck the characters barely even treat that as a second thought) but about the trauma and shellshock of war.
      Honestly just doing routine nonsense on a ship can probably be insanely dangerous, so lost fingers or toes probably happens constantly, and it's most likely barely even a 15 minute visit to sickbay on most Starfleet vessels.
