Back in 2009, Joe Schreiber authored Death Troopers, it's a fantastic book, I highly recommend it. That's immediately what I thought of when I saw this figure. I know nothing of the new series that are out, and I'd like to keep it that way, lol. Rogue One is phenomenal and the best of all the new stuff that came out.

Another great unboxing and review. What a great looking figure. The zombie sculpt and weathering really are done well. So glad that I secured one from Sideshow. I can't wait to get it in my collection. So....are you going to get another!?
It should be noted that the figure was released quickly, with few units and an exclusive format. Hot Toys does these things and saves on improvements and details of something already reused in previous figures and even removes details or accessories. The small gun holster is removed, quick painting with imperfections or low quality weapons. For Hot Toys it is a cheap figure since it has everything done, it removes things and quality of painting and sells it as an exclusive so that collectors buy quickly, so Hot Toys is guaranteed to sell all the figures and on top of that it makes more money for less. "The Law is made... the trap is made..." That is why I never buy "exclusive" figures that are released quickly with worse quality and sometimes poorly designed parts. Be very careful when buying these "Exclusive" versions from Hot Toys. Sometimes the standard versions are better than the "exclusive" ones.
This is not quite that. There are new molds here and there won’t be a ‘standard’ version as far as I’m aware. If you want the zombie death trooper this will likely be the only chance at getting it

I did not like Kenobi neither Acolyte series. I like Mandalorian and BOBF series. But for me i love Original Trilogy so figures indeed. I prefer saving money and getting Original Trilogy, Prequels, Rogue One (not sure if HT will release Andor and Baze Malbus figures at least), Mandalorian main characters and more mandalorians, BOBF main characters figures. Remember Hot Toys will release (Han Solo ROTJ, Chewie ESB, Stormtrooper ROTJ, Dewback and sandtrooper ANH, Sandtrooper ANH, Scout trooper ROTJ, Anakin AOTC, Kit Fisto ROTS, Padme AOTC, Jedi master Mace Windu AOTC/ROTS, NEW Darth Maul PM, Death Star Security navy trooper ANH and waiting for Stormtrooper ESB version, Star Destroyer Security Navy trooper ESB version and more to be released in the future i hope Kenobi PM and AOTC versions), and also Sideshow will release (5 Mos Eisley's Cantina figures and 7 Jabba's scum and guards). At least 23 or 24 OT figures these next 2 or 3 years and i will get all of them indeed.
Why does the helmet sit so incredibly high? The visor is so far above the eyes that once I noticed it I couldn't unsee it! Ah well... Can the helmet be repositioned or is it welded to the zomb head? Not a fan of the wraps they're so contrived and the kintsugi thing already done really prominently with Kylo Ren-Hoek!
I got my Black series figures signed by Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen this weekend at LA ComicCon. Wish I would’ve had their Hot Toys to get signed.

I always loved the double meaning behind this variant and what they did with the bottom of the helmet coming away to reveal the decaying jaw. Because, yeah, it’s a death trooper, but because it’s a zombie as well, it’s an actual - original - death trooper from the novel of the same name. The exposed jaw and the scuffed up armour just brings the similarities further to the forefront and I love it! Shame they couldn’t have done the same with the normal night trooper because that would’ve been true perfection.
Always found the concept of a Zombie Trooper just idiotic. A zombie with a gun is stupid. Also hated the Ahsoka show so, couldn't expect less. All that said, the kintsugi look of the Death Trooper looks awesome, would have been nice they went for a standart and deluxe version, with the standart not having that zombie headsculpt, and if the price was more reasonable I would have gone for it.
Looks really cool. However the character begs buying two but that price is prohibitive when the Mando Deathtrooper is easy to pickup for $150-$200.
