60 years ago I was the “starting motor” & student pilot for Dads 1946 Chief. I was 14. It had an 85 hp Cont, climb prop, oversized tires, aux fuel tank, toe brakes and a dry cell powered radio. This was 1964 in Moses Point Alaska up close to Nome on Norton Sound. Learned about cross wind landings (no flaps), power on stalls (mushed like a husky), and how to use the correct tie down knots. Fun days!

Low and slow is what makes good pilots
It was like a family reunion for your Aeronca!
I want a piper cub j3! Love planes, cars and ham radios... a new sub 😊
Thanks for the sub!
Looks like it was fun! You mentioned Ercoupe. My first airplane ride was in an Ercoupe when I was 7 years old back in 1967.
Thanks for taking us along for a look at the Flabob fly-in. I really enjoyed it. Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.
Thank you very much!
Still waiting to make my first t/o and landing on some grass. Going to take my CFI with me for the initial trip.
I like landing on grass, not so much taking off, at least in my plane. with 65 hp the takeoff roll is pretty slow on the grass!
I’ve become addicted to grass strip takeoffs and landing in the Champ!
Man, that looks like a good size fly in! Just hit Koerner's last weekend in IL, and we might've had 20 planes LOL
Killer video!! Great stuff
Thanks for making this, I would love to get down there sometime. I spotted quite a few friends in there!
Cool vid!!
Low and slow that is the tempo

Come on man a three minute introduction of a ten minute video? And I like airplanes.
