My band 'crankdown' is having our first gig in 14 days. We've learned lot about moving from song to song from you and the Ramones haha. Practice too 😁. Watching your videos and taking your advice really helps us a lot
Film it! SmartPhone is perfectly fine. (Just keep care of the light source the focus is on and maby have the charger and an extension chord with you) It mighht be fun to watch later.
Thanks man! Good luck with that, let me know if I can help out at all. Just to let you know I've just released a book on Amazon, would love for you to check it out!
Hey Damo, fully aware this is an older Vid, been watching you for months. It is 5/5/2022, Cinco de Mayo, and our first full band gig is Friday the 13th (perhaps bad luck😅) but we’re quite excited. We have a 25 minute set, and we’re curious if we should just go up there and not say anything to the audience for the first two songs, OR should we say hello, a quick what this song is about, and then get into it. Which seems like the right thing to do as a brand new band with no following or single out? Tips/advice from any musicians here would be amazing
Obviously it's too late now as you posted that 3 months ago lol But my advice would be not to say anything for the first two songs so you relax into the gig a bit, particularly if it's your first, if you start talking as soon as you go on stage, the chances are you'll sound nervous and it'll be a but awkward. I wait till 2 songs in then say the band name etc.

I have always heard that your first gig is going to be bad. That's why I'm going to skip it and go right to the second one. 😂
