      hey Lando, you are so welcome! I have one more secret for you: look up "Gigstation" it's literally the best indie merch table idea EVER. Seriously. You're gonna freak when you see it.

    Lyrics do matter! There are some mainstream musicians (like halsey for example) who seem to care about lyrics but none of their good songs ever get played on the radio.

    • @DylanGalvinMusic
      @DylanGalvinMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes!!!! Absolutely. Yeah, they are few and far between but there are not nearly enough of them. The good thing about indie musicians is that we are not bound to strike label restrictions and we can delve into our lyrics and really push the art forward!

    Thanks for the knowledge & tips. I like that you care about lyrics ... a lot of the mainstream distributors of music don't think we really listen to lyrics, but I know I do!

      Aw, thank you so much Linda!! I truly believe Lyric Writing is a dying art and almost no mainstream writer is writing anything original...it all happened in the 60's and 70's...those were the good ol' days and I wasnt' even born yet. I'm glad you do!

    Very good Man!! Been doing similar stuff myself.
    Lyrics do matter to real musicians, for sure!

    • @DylanGalvinMusic
      @DylanGalvinMusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Davi! Yeah, it's a crazy time to be a musician, there's all these non-music related things we have to figure out now....I think I might make a program or something with all the crap that I had to learn.

      Thank you AZ! I appreciate that alot buddy. I'm thinking about making a course from the stuff I learned in the last few years. There's a whole lot to this "making it as a musician" thing

    That necklace is cool you should do a video on how you press the messages into the pic

    • @DylanGalvinMusic
      @DylanGalvinMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So you take a mini hammer and little letters (you can buy them at Michaels or other craft stores) and you hammer each letter onto the copper. Get a rubber square to lay the copper necklace on to absorb the impact so it doesn't scratch the back of the necklace. I hope that helps some. PS - are you still making music today?

    Yeah gotta love venues that expect you to play on a stage with a tv above your head and they don't turn it off all night.....at least they turn the volume off i guess???? ughhh.....

    • @DylanGalvinMusic
      @DylanGalvinMusic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah....that stuff drives me CRAZY.

      how about when there is a crowd there for a sporting event and they make a band go on before the game is over (hockey games go till about 10:15.....bands often start at 10).....so rather then have the band go on the second the event is over to keep people sticking around they make a band start at a point where all of these patrons not there for the show just get angry at the band and leave the second the game is done.....so many bar fails!!!!!

    • @DylanGalvinMusic
      @DylanGalvinMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSickNeeds That is the WORST. Absolutely worst. It is so frustrating. Sports people don't generally like bands as much as I think lots of venue owners assume they do. Argh.
