    Beautiful. I'd prefer the tweeters to be on opposite sides and far apart though, so as not to lose the stereo separation.

      @@OmerTheGreatOne Up2Stream Amps are capable of both Mono and Stereo. This could easily be made stereo and only difference would be making a pair of crossovers and few more cables. I'm not sure one on video is mono tho, part list shows 2 crossovers so that could mean this is actually stereo setup.

    Thank you for the video, shows how to make and decorate the speaker boxes in detail.
    Couldn't find the schematics following the link. Another thing, for a stereo speaker it is a bad idea to place tweeters one right next to the other, this way there will be no stereo effect.

    Hi Donny, very nice build! Question regarding the remote control: Does it work through the plexi at the backside of the box? I finished my first boombox last week, using the Arylic Up2stream Amp 2.1 board. The board has a 9pin breakout connector where you can connect an external IR sensor. I used a standard LED-shaped one with 38kHz 940nm and put it in the front panel. Works perfectly.

      Hi! Thank you! Glad you liked the video.
      Yup, the remote does work through the plexiglass. Though I didn't check on how far the remote can still work.

    This is a pretty neat little speaker build! One of the best ones I've seen. Good job.

    • @DonnyTerek
      @DonnyTerek  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you!
      I did consider adding a battery pack to make it portable but since my intention was to only use it inside, powering it with a 24V supply is convenient enough. It also saves some space and overall dimensions without the battery pack.

      @@DonnyTerek you could do what I did . By using my 18v cordless drill battery externally via a 3d printed battery adaptor ( plenty of choice for most popular brands) use an in-line fuse & terminate lead with your specific power plug. & Job done it's portable, you will lose a little output power due to the lower 18vdc input.

    • @DonnyTerek
      @DonnyTerek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@idrisjones1453 That is a really good idea. Being able to use a single battery pack for other devices other than power tools is great. The speaker would look a bit bulky with the battery on the outside but at least it would be portable.

    Really awesome job! Did a similar project and included a battery pack so i can charge and use the speaker anywhere. It sounds great however everytime i turn it on, i hear a loud popping sound from the speaker, i guess i will need to put something between the power supply and switch to eliminate the startup popping sound?

    I don't understand ! The amp is 2x 50 watts and tweeter is only 20 watts .It not supposed to be higher then 50 watts to support the max amp power?

    What varnish exactly?
    It looks milky. I have to find it.
    Thanks for video. Im gonna make it

      @DonnyTerek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend using simple water based varnish that is semi matte for best finish.

      Hi! If you are talking about the enclosure, I used MDF board, not plywood.

    Just a question. Sounds the speaker in your opinion better than a Sonos one? I am just asking because the speakers are so cheap.

    • @DonnyTerek

      Sorry, I haven't tested a Sonos One.

    Beautiful build and video man, I had a question when building one with tweeters can you connect the tweeters where the larger speakers are connected? Or does the amp need 4 positive and negative lines for tweeters and woofers
