Travis, as I’ve stated before, this is excellent content, and your videos are very thorough and useful as reference and gives a lot of us the confidence to try to work on our cars. I’ve got a twin sister to this SS with 56k and factory CME.
@@TWAMotorsports when I was a teenager the louder the better, music and exhaust, but that was in the 70's. Maybe that's why I'm a little hard of hearing. LoL. ✌🏻
Hey Travis, I replaced my passenger side fender liner with a $30 rolled up eBay special and it worked great. It was tough to line up the holes but I’m happy with mine. I did leave mine in the Sun for a couple days to get it back into the correct shape.
Before you said anything i noticed the much larger opening in the airbox and was going to ask why yours was twice as high as mine. Now i know lol. Enjoyed the video as usual.
Good evening, Travis. Looking good. For your Trans am. Look up the GMMG catback for it. Hawk motorsports sales it. I bought GMMG catback for my Trans am. Yeeeaaaaa! Buddy. 👌. Sound. Sounds like the old school muscles cars back in the day with the chamber style system.
Nice video Travis congratulations on getting your son's SS running properly.. I'm looking forward to see what kinda rims and tires are going on the SS. 👍..
Running a flowmaster 3”-4” y merge to a mufflex 4” and dynomax ultra flo and it’s perfect. Also with an alternator voltage issue I’m running a 130 amp? I believe truck alternator and it solved all my issues, as well as took away my bad voltage drip with the ac running. Food for thought
Loudmouth is really loud, but I guess it’s a matter of opinion. LOL. They sound like chambered exhaust, but I like the sound of old school “turbo mufflers” . They do seem to flow well, if you can tolerate the decibels
Back for more F body content! I just picked up a hardtop SS to replace my rust bucket project but the diff whines and stinks. Travis do you have any videos up on the 10 bolt in the F body?
I had to end up going with a panhard relocation bracket on my magnaflow system too, after 11 years of ownership I'm down to eliminating 1 more rattle haha! (spoiler its the passenger side header hitting the k member)
I enjoy all of your videos and I can really relate to the 4th gen F-body stuff and silverado stuff. I was debating on putting the magnaflow on my 4th gen Camaro that is basically the same setup and your video helped with that. BTW do you want to sell that center mount exhaust stuff?
You are doing a good job man! Not just as a father but as a content creator! Just so i know, what is considered worrisome for the alternator? Would the same thing apply to a trans am? Mine in my car has never been changed, and it has 60k miles. Wondering if i need to be worried. The headlights sometimes pulse, on brights too. Also how do you know what a misfire is? Sorry if these questions are dumb, but im just trying to learn. I don't have anyone in my life i can ask.. 😕
my front fenders on my 98 were cracked when i bought it, im assuming from the lift (?) ...any vidoes (urs on any recommendations from anybody else?) on "how tos" for doin the epoxy thang? (btw saw ur vid on the reinforcement piece a while back) thanx man
Normally the refresh rate on the wideband is so fast it reacts before the computer changes the value? I run an AEM wideband and also import the afr and I noticed the same thing. Good stuff man, that car is great.
I’ve got factory CME on mine and read an article back when these cars were new where SLP said the CME and factory quad tips (I think SLP refers to them as the dual/dual system) are upgrades in exhaust flow to the standard SS exhaust. If the cars have one of these factory installed exhaust, then they are “335hp” cars. The SLP CAI makes them “345hp” cars. Also, they should be able to handle up to about 500hp to the crank without being restricted on flow. My set up with heads and cam and shorty headers with all four cats (I used to live in Cali) and SLP y-pipe makes 387hp to the wheels, which is about 450hp? at the crank. No flow issues yet, but was told if I upgrade from BTR2 to BTR3, then I’d need to run long tubes to take advantage. Just my two cents...
I can't wait to hear yours with long tubes. I also just did my 500 mile clutch break in but I used a centerforce dfx with billet flywheel what an improvement.
I run true duals with Magnaflow on my 2011 Tahoe. I am not a fan of the sound (Dyno Max fanboy) but my muffler guy encouraged me to try them, I am impressed with the quality and performance, and once you hit cruise speed, they really quiet down with no drone in the cabin.
These cars look good either with the tucked in factory pipes (dual singles, dual duals, cme or no pipes at all. Any oversized aftermarket tips that sticks out looks weird and out of place for such sleek-looking car IMO.
with all that good power needs good tires and good breaks with an 18 year old! dont ask me how i know! crashed an old camaro just like this with a 383 stroker ripped on my tires a little too much

Thank you. Factory cme is way better
That’s one hell of a car! Your son is so blessed
Thank you. Hopefully he feels the same.
@@TWAMotorsports If he doesn't I'm willing to be adopted. I don't need an allowance, just car parts when I do well...lmao!
@weskirkland5850 lol
Coming along nicely! Big magnaflow fan, good choice 👍
Thank you. Me too
I love that blue. What a beautiful color!
Coming together nicely. Sounds a lot better after changing the exhaust and looks better from the rear view!!✌🏻

They work but are no where near as nice as originals.

I had the gmmg back in the day. Still made by mad hammer I believe. Too raspy for my taste.
I was able to use that lid box for an Ultra Z hood I purchased and it fit perfectly. Came off a WS6 Ram air car. Seems to be a rare one.
Yeah that ultra z is taller

Good choice if the magnaflow, just put that same system on my Z28 a few weeks ago

I need to order a new alternator for it soon
@@TWAMotorsports don’t quote but I think it was a single wire 4 plug off an Escalade 02-03ish
I generally order aftermarket
I love f-body videos, but I would have kept the loudmouth on it. I love my exhaust. Can't wait to see the new wheels.
Loudmouth sounds terrible with no cats in my opinion

Your better off finding a used replacement! They’re cheap. If you plan on adding mods just upgrade to a different housing

Thank you. When lights flicker that is a tell that the alternator is bad. Hp tuners is logging the misfires
check out mechman for an alternator, might be worth it over a reman.
I have one here I think I will try.

Pretty much
Like to see the LT1 vs LS1 just in an overall comparison then just do heads up once lol
That may happen. Wish it was stock. It will be a beat down. Lol
Are you going to put the speed limiter on it like you did on his G8?
Definitely

It is from speedway I think. Link in the videos
