- By and large, if you already have Judgment on the PS4, its remaster is hard to recommend. There isn’t much that’s new here, after all, and spending additional money on a nearly identical experience doesn’t make much sense.
That said, if you’ve never played Judgment before, this is an extremely easy recommendation. It tells an excellent story, offers a ton of varied and enjoyable content, and delivers an extremely polished take on the classic Yakuza formula. All of which is to say, Judgment Remastered might not be worth the double dip, but it’s certainly the best way to play this underrated gem. - เกม

I loved this game, Takuyuki Yagami is just as good as Kazuma Kiryu of the Yakuza series, I recommend Judgement to anyone who played Yakuza, it's a really great game 👍

The reviewer didn't go much into the technical aspect of this remaster for some reason, the main point of "remasters" are the visual and performance upgrades hence the term, the lighting has been improved, different color grading as compared to the warmer color from the original, is it 4k? Is it consistently 60fps?
Because not everyone cares about that shallow crap. If it’s the same experience with better makeup, then what’s the point? Plus those types of improvements are pretty standard that there’s not much of a point in mentioning them

Such a great game and truly an amazing addition to the Yakuza series! Did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did since I've played a few in the series already and thought it would just be business as usual. But, being a detective really puts a new spin on it and Yagami is a great protagonist. Probably my third fav game in there series so far.
I’m hoping kiryu and Yagami will have cross over game.

I guess they’re desperate, much like controls publisher. Meh. Tbh I was just thinking today what the incentive was for devs to repurpose a nextgen update and it’s really simple. There are many people who didn’t buy it last gen but having nextgen consoles incentivizes them if it’s advertised with new bells and whistles. Sells itself. Thus, they’d do well PR wise to just offer the free upgrade to early adopters as new ones will follow. Well, easy path is easy I guess
Hella greedy. Not even a $10-15 upgrade fee. Fuck this studio/publisher, when I get my gpu I'mma jack sparrow the shit out this game. I already bought in on ps4 at a full $60 when it released
I always hear about yakuza series. Decided to start with this game so I bought it today
Honestly good decision. Even tho it's a spinoff it gives you a look into what all the other yakuza games are like (except 7) even tho this comment is 3 weeks old im sure you know yakuza 0-6 don't have a English dub so be prepared to read.
Hoping for a Fist of the North Star remaster next!
Been playing it again on the PS5, it already runs at 60fps and the graphics are cel shaded, curious what you feel needs remastering? And if they did do it for FotnS I would REALLY love if they reworked the club management game so it’s as good as the one in Yakuza Kiwami 2!

I own all the yakuza games on my PS4 and before you ask yes i would buy every last one if they got released on the PS5 as the yakuza games are fun and they have great storys to boot and after playing garbage games like anthem we all need to relax and play a game that is going to deliver what it promises

This game is awesome. Tip: play these games with the Japanese dub. It fits the setting and themes in a satisfying way.
I played this one in English. Just as immersive.
Sorry but no go on the tip. The full Asian English voice acting did incredible and some even did the Japanese also. The fact they give you the option for both audio is great. This was really good with English. You probably enjoy the Japanese because you don’t understand it so you can’t tell if it’s bad acting or not lol. They worked hard to get the English audio and it needs to appreciated

After playing and loving Like a Dragon, I mite give upgraded Judgment a go. It was nice to be back in the Yakuza world without having to read subtitles.
Remember tho this is a brawler....Not turned based as , Like A Dragon ,which I liked but prefer the old fighting style much more.....If you liked the Like A Dragon then I believe you will like this....Have the ps4 and ps5 version of Judgement and I can honestly say the Ps5 version is the best ....60fps which guves it a much smoother gameplay is a no brainer with sharper graphics....Kind of liked the filtered version on the ps4 version but I prefer the realism on the ps5 then on ps4 anytime and any day for the 4k 60fps....Very unique side content compared to Like a Daragon.... Judgement only takes place in one setting compared to the multiple settings like, Like A Dragon....This has a La Noir Vibe to it.....I played all the Yakuza games if you do like this then I suggest getting Yakuza 0 next....

Gameplay runs at 60fps, afaik. A review with no 60fps video option makes it a disservice, frankly. And while Judgment on base PS4 runs at 1080p 30fps with drops, at least on base PS4, 4k60 is a hell of an upgrade.
The next gen versions are today's GameStop deal of the day for 25$ so thanks for helping me decide on getting it lol

I got all my games since 2015 on digital, I don't like the hassle of put in and out disc, plus I travel a lot with my console and it feels practical to delete and install games I wanted to play/replay. And I love the minimalist look on my rooms/houses without game cover everywhere. But that's my opinion.
Game is worth the 40 bucks... over the 60 from the first time. The value on it kills anything other than Persona and Nier Automata

I love Yakuza series. And in this spinoff the story is really good but thats the first time i despise the combat system. If this was the first game of the series i play i would definitely drop it because i HATE the combat.

Hey, I'm never play yakuza ever, but everyone said the story is top notch (and it is) i played yeah it's worth it for the story alone, it's about lawyers x mystery x detective stuff. Although the fighting is meh, for me at least.
I loved this game way more than Like a Dragon.

The game is awesome and i would replay the story on PS5 but I'm not going to pay for it again, they should make an upgrade from the PS4 version, even a paid one is better than rebuying the whole game :/ Also no save transfer, imagine doing 100% KamuroGo again :s

To be honest, I couldn't get into this game because the combat/gameplay system just isn't very good at all. I have heard the sequel is a lot better in many ways though.
The graphics are really cool, but I don’t think they utilised the DualSense’s capabilities enough. For example, they could have used the haptic feedback so the player could feel each footstep you take.
That would drain the battery significantly

Let me explain if you not already informed on this practice. When you see great games get terrible reviews, it's not because the game was underwhelming it's because the person writing up the review sometimes have to review game genres that they wouldn't spend their money on. So they're reviewing the games passive aggressively which results in a delivery of a skewed perspective and a terrible review is born
I was going to ask you if it was the same reviewer for both versions. It was. That's pretty bad. It should get the same score, at the very least. I never played the PS4 version but getting the PS5 version on the new sale $25.99 today.

Its running at a much higher resolution and framerate. I would really hate if they made current gen games at 900p/30fps so can crank up asset detail.
