All the other videos I've watched have made me feel like I needed to buy only black, white and tan clothes. That just doesn't look good on me or make me feel attractive. For the sharpie, take a rubber band and make like a ponytail out of the area that has the ink so the rubberband is separating the good from the bad area. Place the dry ink section down into a cup of rubbing alcohol. Let soak for several hours swishing it around occasionally. The ink goes into the alcohol. Change out the alcohol as it gets saturated with ink. I have saved many white dress shirts this way. Good luck.
Would this work on any color of clothing item? I use rubbing alcohol all the time for getting marker off of walls, furniture, etc but never tried on clothing - great tip !
6:00 rubbing alcohol!!😃😃 I used it on my micro fiber couch and it worked. (Kids decided to partially color the couch... But a few cotton balls with rubbing alcohol, and a few times of trying to remove it actually worked😃)

My husband, knowing my love for books, gives me bags full of books every Christmas. It adds up. I have more books than I have house. Still, I thought I would have them always. Since I've been decluttering, though, I have been able to let go of many of my books, including children's books. I just do a few at a time, as I am emotionally ready. Try zote a soap you can get at Walmart. Ut has gotten some very stubborn stains for me. You will have to try a few attempts and leave soaking with soap overnight and also try a brush to scrub too
I buy a new covers for my unwanted pillows (if they’re feather filled) off of Amazon. Or if it works with the size, I get a new covers inexpensively from IKEA. 😊

I only decorate for fall and winter..I don't decorate for Christmas...just winter so that it lasts from dec to feb. I did a little bit for valentines this year but the rest of the year is just my regular decor.

When I have something that I really like and it gets a stain I die it a dark color like black or navy blue. It covers the stain and Its like I have a new shirt .☺️ It has worked with rugs also.
Isopropyl alcohol will usually get rid of the sharpie... but be careful with the dye in the fabric. I have also heard that spray on sunscreen can get rid of it, at least on skin.
Just saved my daughters fancy dress by my mom sharing hairspray to remove permanent ink from clothes. Spray a decent layer, use wet cloth or paper towel and blot. It really does work. Make sure to put something between layers, I didn't, made a much bigger mess!!!! Then wash, and it's good as new
Test on a small area first but rubbing alcohol does remove sharpie. However! It CAN also remove the color of the garment as well! So test a spot first.

I have literally thrown out whole bins (when I don't even know what's in them & haven't needed them in forever) because they were covered in webs & possibly creepy crawlies! 😆
The sharpie marker can come out 😊. I use rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. First put around the area and then on the stain. Pushing into the marker dabbing and it will eventually soak up into the paper towel. Let me know If it worked 😁. Enjoy your videos sooooo much. ♥️
I am all about minimizing stuff, but I am also about not bringing more stuff in. I try to reuse or repurpose things as much as possible. For example with the bathroom rug. I would have dyed it a darker color to hide the stains. Do you ever take and hide half the toys and then rotate them every few weeks? BTW, I am new to your channel and am enjoying it.
Tie dye that shirt! If those hacks don’t work or it is still noticeable, you can always tie dye it. It can be a fun activity for the kids (she might be too small) but that way it can have a second chance.
Use rubbing alcohol. Put it on the stain, rub your thump and pointer finger over it underneath and on top. Then do it again; put a bit of tide on it ... rub again... let it set for a bit,,, throw in washer cold water or let it soak in cold water for a whole day.
I find decluttering to become addicting. I can’t open a cabinet or closet without thinking about getting rid of something. When I watch you or others I really want to scratch the itch and find something.
Rubbing alcohol should take the permanent marker out. But how I look at stain removal is... it’s already ruined. If I can get it out great! But I can’t really make it worse by trying to remove it, because I wouldn’t have her wear it anyhow. I used to feel like you do and then I realized that I have nothing to lose. Hope that mindset helps!
May want to get rid of the Johnson and Johnson baby powder since they just settled a lawsuit worth hundreds of millions of dollars from causing cancer from that product....
My family has been great. Most of the time, they get us what they want and then say, we totally understand if you end up not keeping this! We will use the items until we are done, and then donate them to someone else! Really special items we keep!

Hairspray works on regular pen ink, at least. Alcohol works on sharpie ink on smooth surfaces, at least. But neither will hurt fabric--they are used all the time and must get on fabric all the time, too. They are not going to make it worse, for sure, and may well solve the problem--don't be afraid of them. :) Anyway, the shirt is already ruined--what are you going to do, ruin it more? It's ruined for sure if you don't try. :)

I’ve heard that maple syrup on oil stains works well for clothing. Wash it with Dawn soap after.
