Every TH-cam has the title of “import photos and videos” yet they don’t import ANY videos. Importing photos is pretty self explanatory, nothing really technical about that, BUT there are people (just like me) trying to import VIDEOS (as your title mentioned) and the videos aren’t accessible. They simply don’t show up. I thought you’d talk about that since it has to do with the title of your video.
Hey Sonia, thanks for your comment. Let me look into this, I have actually transfered both video and photo using this same method multiple times, unless something has changed with iPad iOS version.

hey maybe you can help me, I do not get an upload button in pictures, nor does it automatically open photos. I don't even have the menu bar at the bottom of the page. Im running a i pad pro the last year it had the lightning connector, think its a 2019
I have also opened files and still see no place to manually download the card to photos or cloud. I'm starting to lose my mind trying to get my sd cars onto the iPad pro. Any help would be appreciated greatly
I was wondering if you can help please. I have an iPad Pro and the latest software update is 13.2. Since the update I’m having trouble importing photos using the SD card adapter as you have shown even though no problem if I try a different SD card so I know it’s working, just not with this SD card. It’s been in use for a year importing quite happily until now. I dread these software updates now because you can bet your bottom dollar there will be issues. I have contacted Apple support and they have told me to press and quickly release the volume up button then the volume down button then power down and start it up again. This didn’t work. I also tried the forced rest, I think it’s called, and that didn’t work either. I’m fed up with it all. I’m not very technical and struggle just knowing the basics. Someone said to slot into a computer and change the name of the SD card then it works in the iPad Pro. I have got a lap top but rarely use as I favour the iPad it’s much quicker...usually lol Using the lap top will be new to me so I would need a video showing me step by step. I would hope there is another solution you can come up with. Really appreciate it if you can help 🤞🏻🍀🖥💡🙏🏻🇬🇧

I use my cameras wifi to import. But I notice when I do raw files, it automatically converts them or downsizes my image data. Will this work with raw files and import all its data?

If I have a standard USB cable, do I need to remove the battery prior to download.??? I lost the card when I charged my camera with the card still in the camera. Don't want to make that mistake again.

But what about videos? I've already uploaded my videos in the same way but although I have the thumbnails on my iPad they don't want to play! I just get the CIRCLE going round and round and no play! Any ideas please? Dave Uk!
Problem Solved:
My problem getting my narrated videos and pictures from the iPad Mini 4 was one big problem.
It seems Apple doesn’t like “Drag-N-Drop” or “Cut & Paste”.
I could get the pictures and videos from the SD card on my Mavic 2 Zoom OK. I just plugged my USB “C” cable into it and the USB-A into the computer…. No problem there.
When flying I like to narrate the flight so there isn’t just minutes of dead silence. I haven’t used a video editor in years. It takes so much time and you never seem to tweak it the way you want it.
I first ordered a USB card reader with a pigtail that had a Lightning plug on the other end. I found that this is a one-way street. You could import pictures but not export them. I sent the thing back ASAP.
Then I went to a computer store and bought another thing that had a lightning connector on one end and a built in USB/64gig storage device on the other. I downloaded the APP. It first said “this will not work in your region of the world” and that message went away as fast as it appeared.
I downloaded the app and it said “No External Storage Found”.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN ??? IT’S ON THE OTHER END!
After reading the instructions they did not relate to the device so I took it back and got my $ 43.00 refund.
I stopped at another brand name electronic store and went to their endless aisle of thumb drives, SD card readers. I found this thing called PhotoFast®.
I opened the box… no instruction of any kind.
I plugged it into my iPad Mini 4 and it told me which APP to download. I did and it said to download another APP which I did.
I found my pictures and videos on the iPad and tapped on ‘select’. There wasn’t anything saying ‘continue’ I knew I had fallen into deep pit of Asian ‘figure it out your self’. I hit ‘select all’ again and up popped a menu asking if I wanted to copy all to the external storage. I was going into shock as I selected ‘copy and do not delete the pictures’.
I saw it count down 1,2,3,4 etc. Finally all the pictures from my iPad Mini 4 were transferred to the 64gig storage.
I plugged it into my Windows computers and there they were. I copied them to my 4 TB hard drive for safekeeping.
I went back to that brand name store and got another device. With my luck the store will be hit by a falling meteorite and I won’t be able to find another one. NOW I have all my narrated pictures on my Windows Computer.
I tried the same thing but I got error transferring videos from sd card to my iPad mini. Any idea why?

say i import jpeg+raw using the card reader.. for use with Lightroom Mobile, for example. When I'm done working on them on my iPad and they've been updated on my main LIghtoom on my desktop, then how the hell do I delete the RAW files off the iPad? I'm assuming what I see in Camera Roll is just the jpeg.. if I delete the jpeg, will it automatically delete the corresponding RAW file as well? NOBODY seems to have an answer to this.. and it seems kind of stupid if you bog up your iPad with large RAW files and there's not way to remove them.

Thanks for your question. It really depends on how much data you have. The more data the longer it will take. From minumum, maybe 5-10 minutes, but could take up to 1 hour if there is more data.

Mine did not work. I put the sd card in the reader, plug it into my iPad, and it brings me to the importer page in my camera roll. However, the page is blank. It’s connected to my WiFi, and it just doesn’t load my videos.. help?

Hi Hannah, that's not good. What you'll find is that SD cards come in various formats, SD, SDHC, SDXC. The apple one should be able to read all, was it another brand perhaps? Sometimes the older ones can't read the newer SD card formats...

Does not work on my 128gig iPad Air 2.. I get the message "Cannot Use Device - Mass Storage Device: The connected device requires too much power" It should not use hardly any power, all it is is a Micro-SD slid into a standard USB adapter that's onlu slightly larger than the Micro-SD

If the camera has an option to “Turn off USB charging or power” turn it off and retry download

this guide is just for a sd card, this camera should have a sd card, so yes. I don't think it has a sim card like your phone.

This was not helpful at all!! Every site says the same thing. At the bottom of the photos on your iPad it will say, import. If I hear that one more time I'm going to run screaming!!! There is no such option on my iPad air 2. I'm not being tacky, just super frustrated.

Well, the box has an apple in silver above the words "Lightening to SD Card Camera Reader". I suppose it's possible that it is fake but unless I have a real Apple card reader to compare, I can't tell for sure.
