For me it had to do with the Story. The gameplay was fantastic, but I couldn't immerse myself within it because of the weak plot.
Playing this on xbox one x. Bugs were never patched. Ai is still brain dead. I assisinate a guy on sencond floor, throw his dead body on to a crowd of npcs. They show slight distaste and forget all about it after approximately 10 seconds. I saw fish which are miles more intelligent.

After 10 or so hours, all AC players realize that the controls are as precise as they can be. Of course the majority never plays for more than 6 or 7 hours.
easiest fucking controls i've ever seen. Hold RT or R2 to sprint and climb straight, if holding A/X you would sprint and climb upwards and if holding B/O you would sprint and climb downwards, very good controls, too many noobs play these games and complain.

Mr. Knew York Rise of the Assassin is the most brutally punishing memory in all of AC Unity because of how inconsistent the detection spread is. One mistake is often enough to have every single guard in the mission on you in 3 seconds just because of how many gunners there are around the area, so you’re never really out of someone’s sight range.

AC Unity was a good game IMO. I didn't experience any bugs or anything. The game accomplishes making the parkour look pretty realistic and that's good enough for me.

@@Hessey I played it on PC with GTX 1050 4 GB ram and the game ran like shit. Framerates dropped everywhere in the game and there was lot of struggling in this game. I couldn't even finish it becoz how bad it was unoptimized in PC. Don't know how it ran in your PC.

This game is actually amazing (now). Despite it being an absolute mess in release it has been pretty much patched up for the most part and is now amazing!!! Movement is so fluid and smooth and the Paris setting is excellent. The city is similar to that of those in Italy because of the tightly packed houses that you can jump across. Syndicate and even Origins haven't got the same inclusion of parkour.

The game was great, I was lucky enough to get it right after they did most of the major patches, however it was an absolute mess at launch and some people were barely able to get passed certain areas due to these glitches. I also have to disagree, Origins was a phenomenal game that I think really helped revive the series after Syndicate. Odyssey I can't say the same for.
Dashing Gaspar origins revived the series sure.. but it isn’t assassins creed. The constant hate that this game got basically made the devs say “alright, let’s not make assassins creed games. That pistol shot right before assassinating La Touche was pretty graceful, I've done 3 playthroughs and never tried that. Best run of this mission I've ever seen.
I love how the sock hood is the one that's supposed to give you the best stealth stats in the game. Like how tf are you supposed to be stealthy when you're running around with that thing dangling all about? Lol
I know this post is 7 months old but to be fair the Sans-Culottes hood is made to look inconspicuous alongside the crowds of similarly-designed revolutionary phrygian cap the Sans-Culottes used to wear. Would you be suspicious of a randomly and covertly hooded figure first or of someone wearing what appears to be the phrygian cap if you spotted them in the crowd?

@@ArthurLehmann IMO the game would have benefited from better propulsion animations. Sometimes it puts you into a longer jump than you intended, but the starting jump animation doesn't change. It could look alot smoother if you saw Arno actually put effort into those long jumps.

AC Unity gets allot of hate, but as far as game-play it's my favorite one.
Unity had so much potential man. Arno was a fun guy, Elise was great, the graphics were amazing and the city of Paris and all the side quests were great too. But the main story sucks, the main missions are boring and the game ran like shit. I'm glad that it runs almost perfectly now though so at least the side quests are still fun to play.

I rlly don't get the hate for the story. It's an intriguing redemption/revenge story with elements of romance. It's executed rlly well with it's mix of sandbox, Hitman-esque assassination missions and more structured cinematic missions. Acting/voice acting is on point and is undoubtedly some of the best in the series considering the characters were actually voiced by proper actors. If u could explain what exactly it is about the story u dislike, I'd be interested to know

Rhinos r neat and Unity in general is really, really janky. It’s really easy to path weird, or have an animation get you detected for no reason, or to get stuck in different objects/people indoors, etc etc etc.
I just wish that the parkour in Syndicate was as good as this. I found myself really annoyed that you can't jump off buildings anymore if there is nowhere to jump to, you have to parkour down.

See Unity was programmed terribly and they tried to fix that in Syndicate (Which they did for the most part) but why did have to ruin the parkour in Syndicate. In Unity it looks fucking beautiful but in Syndicate it gets as bland as past AC. It makes me sad
they both were developed by different teams working under ubisoft... Syndicate was in development before the release of unity..
Unity was Ubisoft's most ambitious project ever! but they really rushed that out (for yearly balance sheets obviously) and it fell down on face. :(
I totally agree with you, I had never seen such improvements in animation in an AC game before Unity.
So far I dont think they are gonna dump those terrific animations, its just, Syndicate was way too ahead in development to really put those beautiful animations in it. But I believe next AC games will definitely have those animations... :)

As a traceur (Parkour practitioner) and AC's enthusiast I guarantee this title has the best and realistic parkour movements in the franchise, period.
And it's fun because Parkour was created/named in france, so I think that ubisoft put lot of effort to make justice to the Parkour animations.

Exactly how AC should be. The assassin appears out of the crowd, kills the high profile target, then disappears unto the rooftops. Later, body guards are found dead hidden in hay bales and wells. Nice job man
This flawless parkour completed after so many retries. I know because I always play games as if I'm showcasing it in e3, kind of a pain in the ass when you kept making the same mistakes but when you pulled it of, it's so damn satisfying.

The parkour mechanics starting from Unity is really well done and very fluid but I just hate the fact that Arno can just zooms forward missing a few beams here and there but still managed to stick the landing.
