    I love using this for my homeschool students (not my kiddos). The students love being able to see their grades and their parents love being involved with what their kids are doing in school.

    Would like to use this with our Master's program to give our students a sample of what to expect when they go out into the teaching world as many of our local districts have all gone Google Classroom.. Our university uses Blackboard and will not support Google on top of BB so we had no way of doing this within the walls of BB. This is a workaround which we will have to explore.

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like another great use case for Classroom outside of the 'classroom'. Thank you for sharing. I agree that it is of monumental importance to prepare teachers the best way possible for the many different real life scenarios they might encounter and Google is definitely one of the big players.

    Question: I created a Google Classroom and then a Google Slide show. In the Google Slide I set the Share settings to View Only. I created an Assignment in my Classroom and added a Link to my Google Slide, but I changed the Slide link to replace the part that says "edit?" with "present?" That is suppose to make the Google Slide automatically open in full screen view when the student clicks on the Classroom Assignment link. However, when my students click on the link icon in the Classroom assignment, it opens the Slide in edit mode with all the little slides on the left side and the File menu up top. The options to edit are grayed out, but this is definitely not the view I want them to see. What am I doing wrong? By the way, I started using Google Classroom based on this video from you. It has been a great tool! Thanks, Kevin

    Thanks for this tutorial, very easy for me to follow. I see that you can grade assignments and tests within Google Classroom; does that mean the grades are stored? How easy is it to maintain records, and subsequently create report cards or transcripts?

    This is great for parents to view their students' classroom. Do you know if Google has thought about the option of having parents with private google accounts "follow" their student's progress in classroom? Other Learning Management Systems allow parents to do so, but don't believe Google Classroom has this capability yet. Thanks for the video.

      Classroom allows for this as well. In the Students tab, enable Guardian by clicking the slider button on the left. There will be an 'Invite Guardian' button to the right of each student name. Here you can enter their gmail account and select invite.

    QUESTION: Do you know if all students (private individuals, not young school students) need to have a Gmail-adress to be able to participate in a course or will any emailadress work?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +M Petersson for as far as I know you do need s Gmail account and if this is an apps for education account, your domain needs to allow joining non-domain courses. Personal gmail account can join by default.

    When finishing creating a class with some tests from google form, I enter the pass of class given , but it invalid. Why??? I only invite my students by submitting their email. But I want provide a key of class. And everyone can only enter the key to join class. How? Help me.

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can invite others to you class by sharing the join code. However, when the people joining are part of an educational domain, it is important to note their administrator need to allow joining outside classrooms. Private account can join without changing settings. Hope this answers your question.

    HI there, how do add my students if they do not have email address?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi To enroll students in your class, you need to invite them or give them a code to add themselves. If your students do not have email addresses you can still use Classroom as part of G Suite for Education. You would have to make sure the administrator of the domain has Classroom and Drive turned on, but Gmail turned off. The students would then login to their G Suite account, use this account for classroom, but are unable to use GMail. Hope this answers your question.

    • @bwebwentekaibobkabuati849
      @bwebwentekaibobkabuati849 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank, it does answer my question. The unfortunate part is that I do not know to get (guide) my students to login to GSuite. How would I if I do not know how to get there myself. Sorry to get things hard for you.

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not at all! Do you have a G Suite for education domain? If so I would suggest speaking to your domains admin, or navigating to admin.google.com if you yourself are the admin.

      @bwebwentekaibobkabuati849 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Valerie Adams I have large selection of different trainings which I reserve for in-person training attendees at conferences and INSET days. I also make these and other resources available via Patreon. Thank you for asking!

    Could we set the price for the course, how does it work?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is up to you. However within the Google Classroom Environment it is Open and Free. You could look into Receiving funds a different way and in return giving them access to the class code. However if you are looking into online paid courses I would suggest looking for platforms such as Udemy. I'm currently developing a course on Classroom (Free) covering GSuite for Education and Udemy (Paid) which will be a more detailed and structured training to prepare teachers on implementing GSuite.

      we are a struggling English tutorial school here in Cambodia, we lack bits and pieces in our operations but our students inspire us. I hope I can use this info to eliminate some of our inadequacies. thank you...

  • @commanderObvious
    @commanderObvious 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sadly you still cannot use it if you have a G suite account. You can only sign-in with a free gmail account. A Bit annoying as this means I have to get all my kids to use gmail instead of our g suite domain, which means I have no parental controls.

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rusmichaels01 you can, however your domain administrator had to allow for users to join out of domain courses. Once this is set( as we have done at our school) they can join courses. Hope this helps.

    • @commanderObvious
      @commanderObvious 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I asked google support and they said it is impossible. Since there is no google classroom on a standard g suite acocunt, where would you find the "allow for users to join out of domain courses" option?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rusmichaels01 if the account is a private account joining is automatically allowed. If the user you are trying to use is part of a domain. He/she need to be allowed to join out of domain classrooms.

    • @commanderObvious
      @commanderObvious 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      so how do we get allowed ?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +rusmichaels01 are you trying to join a class or have others join your class. Not sure I understand what it is you are trying to do.

      If you sell the join code, I guess you could set it up that way. However, you would have to keep track of who has joined your classes.

    can I make the classroom public?

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not possible to search for classrooms. However if you share the join code then effectively your classroom becomes available to anyone with that code. You could create a Google Sites that outlines the curriculum and share the classroom join code in there.

    • @barristars5328
      @barristars5328 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick reply. So does that mean the students require a google account in order to proceed. I was intending to make it a public tool without the google login segment.

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct. They have to login to allow for the features such as submitting work, returning work getting graded and having integration with Google drive. It allows you as instructor, to carefully monitor work and understanding before proceeding.

    Thank you for this brilliant presentation. I am looking to use google classroom for my remote German students in the near future ...as it provides much more features and flexibility, opportunities for interaction with your students than Skype . I also believe it to be more user friendly than other virtual classroom solutions out there. I am already excited and will certainly take my time to get more knowledgeable about it.
