I'm 49 and a sneaker head with a collection of a few hundred pairs. While I still love sneakers, including my go-to Jordans 1s and 3s, I've shifted from my childhood favorite 4s, which now feel youthful, to low 2s as a replacement. These days, I wear more dress shoes daily, saving sneakers for summer or casual outings like NBA/NFL games or movies. The best part of getting older is embracing your style without worrying about others' opinions.
Same. Didn’t have it growing up, so when I got the money to afford them I wasn’t even interested until recently. 3 years into the sneaker game and I’m loving it
Im confused! Didn't the jordans drop in 85? You telling me people 40 and over can't wear the shoes that were made for us in the 80s? These young kid's shouldn't wear them if they really wanna be technical about us wearing shoes our age. PERIOD!
Right on! ✊ Our generation in the 80s and 90s not the young kids today but they wanna sport our generation sneakers? We dressed cool we didn't wear Crocs and stretch pants and pajamas and slippers OMG it's so strange today lol
No age is ever too old. The older heads made the Jordan shoes popular today. People can wear whatever they want. The shoes are timeless like a pair of cowboy boots.
Never too old to wear Jordans in my opinion. I'm a big believer in always dressing up for the occasion, weather/season, and comfort. As you get older, there are definitely certain styles one should stay away from (example grown folks with sagging pants). You can get away with wearing just about any element of clothing or accessories no matter what age as long as you style it right.
circle of life. Wore my sambas to the gym today, this guy who told me he was in his 50s and hes Mexican, he almost flipped out when he saw the sambas. He was like "omg i miss that sneaker" im like , "hey they are still for sale and their in style lol"
oh yeah, so im detroit, its snowing like crazy. Because of these Sambas, we had a whole conversation, and he put me on a Mexican restaurant ive never been to. I'm smashing this good food right now all because i decided to rock Adidas Sambas on leg day. Life is crzy
I’m 42 still rocking and coping Jay’s , these kids don’t kno shit bout Jordan, he was King during my childhood, Moms wasn’t payin 100 dollars for no shoe! Got my first Retros in 01 in college. There is no cut off age for us who grew up trying to be like Mike!
My boss is a 60 year old white guy literally comes in with drip every day . Looking good is never going out of style but if you're 40-60 wearing ripped jeans you cap 😂😂
I’m 51 and I wear them all Jordan’s asics adidas LeBrons I got em all and I put the fit game on with them young boys can’t fuck with me them be asking me UNC where you get this and that from when I go out !!!!’
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you’re 50-60 years old you don’t care what you’re wearing with your Jordan’s. We just like wearing our kicks and don’t worry about having a fit to go with them. As you get older you start caring less and less what others think about you or how they look at you. No need to try and impress others
@@brich6875 to each their own,I’m 55 and I care what I put on from head to toe and not to impress anyone but because I like to look right for my own personal reasons, I’m not into worrying about the next person.

For me growing older means shifting mindset from "Yo LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" , to understated style, where the sneakers complement the overall outfit. So instead of dressing from the feet up when I'm younger, my sneakers have to match with my overall outfit and colour/tone. So out with the crazy colours/bulky silhouettes/hyped collabs, and in with the neutral pallettes and sleekers silhouette. Not to say that I don't wear my favourite Jordans that are loud, but they are now my focus piece of the outfit, which consist usually of black sweats. And only on weekends doing casual activities. At 40 no one is going to say your Offwhite Jordans,, Chrome heart denims, and supreme hoodie fit to be 🔥; they will think you are desperately trying to re-live your youth.
I’m 44 and I’ve worn Jordans since 5th grade. I buy around 5 pairs a year. Only flak I catch is that I don’t care if they get beat up I like to wear my shoes (Travis lows included) 🤷🏻♂️
When everyone in their 40s and up are the ones who actually grew or came up watching Jordan, it’s pretty much redundant to try arguing neither of them can wear the sneaker. Because a 20 yr old today surely doesn’t connect with the sneaker the same way someone of Gen X or even among the eldest of Millennials would. 43 myself here. My Jordans ain’t going nowhere
I was born in 1979. Got my first pair of Jordan’s in 1991. The pair my dad bought me are now known as the black metallic 5’s. My point…I’ve been wearing Jordan’s since I was 11 years old. No age is too old. They are just freaking sneakers!

And we made these shoes popular 30+ years ago I'm Gen X in my 50s and i just copped two pairs of black cat size 13 they're sold out already in Michigan

The real question is at what age do you keep buying Kicks over your rent or mortgage? Other than that then rock them til it’s time to leave this earth!
Seeing how Jordan’s came out in the mid 1980s there is no such thing as too old to wear Jordan’s in fact most things they say that your “too old “ to do anymore is most times all nonsense
