Thanks for the review. I did my homework before I purchased my video doorbell, and I was going to go the ring, so that I can have a better view of the walkway to my door. My existing doorbell is off to the left in a corner. I opted to the Nest for the very reason you mentioned that I already have a google nest hub. Other reviews put the Nest doorbell top of the list for the video image. It is very good. What I noted in your video, but you never mentioned, is that you package and the porch pirate where taking the exact same route, and in the exact same place. Well thanks for telling us that, has you didn't mention that you see the package clearly in the Nest video, but on the image shown by Ring, it was almost out of view. The 1080P video that people think they should go after, needs to be considered, has the technology for the nest is able to show the full up and down view of your front door. Theft of packages at your front doors is what is alarming these days.

I bought the nest at Lowe’s for 150. I installed it myself. I say that because that is a feat in itself. I like it very much. Does the job I had to use the wedge that it comes with to angle it away from the wall just a little bit. Drilled into the brick with the mortar drill bit that comes with it. Night vision is really fantastic. I also like the fact that I can customize it.

One of the main things not mentioned in this comparison is the video quality of the Nest Hello is night and day superior. Look at about the 6 min mark where the Porch Pirate is talking over both doorbells. On the Ring Doorbell you can see the Pirate well enough, but the background is completely blown out. Whereas the Nest Hello shows the background and the Pirate clearly. This is great for being able to see a face at the door but also a vehicle in the driveway or road in the background.

I bought the Nest Hello doorbell before the migration to Google Home and it was definitely messy. They seem to have the worst of the bugs worked out now so it shouldn't be an issue. Most stuff that works with Google Home should have little trouble integrating Nest products. I obviously haven't tried everything but all my stuff seems to work.

As a courier I can tell u the nest is better....it just feels more solid. I'm talking about the button when u press it to ring the doorbell. The ring's button feels squishy and a lot of time u might not hit it correctly to activate the doorbell....also it seems to be kinda slow to actually activate ur doorbell sometimes. It just seems not as good as a nest and the nest seems really nice

I have Nest Hello, the only downside is on my end. I live in an apartment and there's 2 units upstairs, mine and the neighbors. Whenever anyone walks up the stares I get an alert. My neighbors are ALWAYS in and out so while I'm at work or just relaxing I'm getting constant notifications that someone was spotted at the door. Luckily people are too lazy to climb stares to steal packages lol. My mother lives own a high traffic road, even when I lived with her we never dealt with "porch pirates" and we had packages coming in at least once a week. I bought her the Ring 2 and the Pro so that she could have one. She has yet to choose which one she wants up so I can't compare first hand experience just yet lol

I cant figure out if these door bells slide out easily or not. Are they easy to be stolen?

Compared to the Ring, what are the up load speeds required to use the Nest Doorbell? I have the Ring, but it failed terribly due to the need to have 1.5mgs of up load speed to work effectively. When I could not get my Ring to work without it being very choppy and sound that went in and out, Ring replaced my doorbell. When the new one did not function any better, they said the do a speed test. When the upload was .8mgs, they said that the Ring needed twice as much up load speed in order to work. I live in a rural area, which is why I got the Ring in the first place, and I have limited internet access. No where did it say on the box any required speeds.

I had both and the Nest wins it for me. The nest doorbell is quicker to get to the app like the video had it. Also, the google home feature takes the cake. Doorbell rings on all Google home displays or speakers rings all over the house. Ring has the better outdoor lights which I use. I switched to the Nest because the Ring pro that I had I never get to pull up the video once they ring it. Its like a minute later by the time. I know its really bad because ring released a separate app called Rapid ring lol.

How do you know someone is watching you through the ring doorbell? Does it light up blue?

I really like my Nest Hello however I wish the notifications were a little faster on my phone. (BTW I am on a 80mb down and 40mb up)

How much delay between the ring and notification do you have?

I had the Hello and switched to Ring. Hello notifications were 2-3 mins after the event vs Rings instant notifications

@@floridaliving33881 Wow! So the Nest Hello was slower than the Ring?! And I was thinking about switching to the Nest Hello from the Ring.

@@floridaliving33881 everybody's experience will be different.
I saw a review online that gave the edge to ring pro. Said the ring pro had better motion detection and was faster.
The review said the ring pro felt cheaper though with cheap looking materials. But gave the ring the win on functionality.
