This song is just the intro to that album. His intros are bangers. There’s an important order though INTRO INTRO II Outro (from his third album perception. Have to listen to it before the intro.) INTRO III The Search (technically intro four but he named it the Search which is also the name of this album) Also, in the beginning he’s walking away from a cage. If you pay attention. That was the cage from his third album. He would have it on stage etc with him. It’s a cell because he’s trapped in his own head. But then realizes only he can let himself out of his own head and negative thoughts. So now he’s gotten out and he’s on a search for happiness with his cart and his balloons (his burdens) and is finding a way to be happy. He is an amazing artist. His albums are like chapters of a book and the order matters a lot. Each album has something to signify. His first one was caution tape and a mansion. The mansion is his mind and emotions. Each room is a different emotion. The song called Mansion of his explains this. Way important. The second album was the joker smile. The fact smile he paints because people tell him his music is too moody and to be happy. The third is the cage which is him being trapped in his own negative thoughts and traumas. At the end of that album he realizes he always had the keys. Now he has the cart and black balloons and as he takes this search he begins to get rid of the balloons. Paid My Dues was a response to rolling stone trashing him for this album after he beat out Chance the rapper last summer on the billboard charts. Tbh, “I just wanna know” is one of his most underrated pieces. It has a music video with remarkable acting and is connected to his most emotional song, “how could you leave us”.. but not enough people have made a connection between the two imo. I don’t wanna spoil anything on how could you leave us, so I won’t be saying how exactly they’re connected, but they are. Both are about his mother.
His most emotional and raw song is Why Did You Leave Us. That gives you the most insight into why Nate has something funny going on up in his house. I highly recommend it!!

There’s so many people that are going to tell you to go back to the beginning and listen to everything in order. That used to be cool, but now there’s so many songs that it takes forever. Just listen to his best songs. Just enjoy him as an artist. Don’t worry about pleasing us fans by doing the “journey”. I’m going to recommend you listen to Returns, Options, and No Excuses. I think you’ll really enjoy them. They’re stupid hype.

Time from NF is a song I think you would enjoy, its bit on the more intense side but first time I heard it, not going to lie I broke down in tears, my grandma had passed three month prior, and it still gits to this day but the song is so daggum impactfull for me
