Why not use roundup and spot spray while zoysia is dormant ? I tried this in a small area of zenith I started 2 seasons ago as a test and seems to not have done any negative to zoysia
That's a great question. Common bermuda will always pop up and spread, no matter what. I have sprayed glyphosate once and have a second app going down this week. There are selective herbicides that I can use on zoysia to remove bermuda. Also common bermuda lpoks completely different than other varieties. I may let some creep in and then point it out on a video.
I thought u sold your JD, lol? How you gonna mow all that? I never bought Negate, I did my research and for 1 app on 1/3 acre. Nope. Great vid and the lawn looks awesome. Easy fixes.
Wanted to pick your brain on my potential project next season. I’ve got a zoysia lawn. One side of it got water damaged from a leak and the turf tied back quite a bit. Bermuda moved in and replaced probably 60% of the zoysia on that side. I want to start killing off the Bermuda with the fusillade / triclopyr cocktail next year starting in June but I’m worried I’m going to have an ugly lawn. Any rexommendations? Was thinking about employing my pro plugger and try to help the existing zoysia out by plugging the worst areas.
I have more of a problem with perennial Poa and Fescue. Basicly its the old lawn trying to come back.
You can use something in the sulphonylurea family for those. Negate, Monument, Revolver, Tribute Total or Katana will smoke it.
Great video!!!!
Thanks Gabe!
Nice property you have there. Congrats
Thank you, lots of work in my future LOL
@@NCGrassPlugsDefinitely, but that's fun work. Enjoy !
Loved the intro!

Do you seen an issue with this as I’m no pro, thanks!!
If the zoysia is not 100% dormant, you'll kill it. It may look dormant but many times you'll find green in the crown of the plant.
Nice to have you back on TH-cam Paul. Looking forward to the new lawn in the new house.
Thanks Chris, It's been a long winter!
Glad to see ya my friend
Are you worried about any wild bermuda lingering in the back and ending up in your zoysia/hybrid bermuda plots?

I did sell the JD about 3 or 4 weeks ago, got a Redmax machine to replace it.

Definitely plug it and apply the cocktail. The cocktail goes out every 28 days and I am about to make my lasy app.
