Justin, I watched your Avata 2 video. You were flying in Indonesia. I was heading there too. I took a leap of faith. I bought the same drone. In Indonesia, I flew. The waterfall, Komodo, Merapi, Dieng, Uluwattu. The drone took me to untouched places. Your video led me there. It was a good experience. Thank you for the inspiration.
Wow that's awesome! I love hearing stories like this. I'm glad you took the leap and got the Avata 2 and found some incredible places with it. You're more than welcome. I always like to help to inspire people to do things that they might not have done otherwise. It's even better when they have a great experience like you had. Amazing! I'd love to see some of the videos you captured in Indo! 😃
@@JustinBainbridgeYT Good thank you! Loving flying my Avata 2 in manual and thinking about what you said re FPV drones so gonna either get GEPRC MK5 or the iFlight Nazgul. 3 drones is enough for any man, lol!
Also and again sorry for all the questions, do you think O3 is still good enough or should I wait until they release O4 air unit and updated drones? Really wanna get the same drone as yours (the iFlight Nazgul Evoque), is the video quality still good please? I don’t know when they will release O4 air unit, might be months from now…
@chriscapune7873 Thanks Chris! Yeah I was so impressed. Cinewhoops tend to fall apart a bit when doing dives like this but it was absolutely locked in. 🍻🤝🚁🏞😃🤙
@ColSam458 Thank you! Yeah, it felt pretty epic whilst I was seeing it through the goggles! It's such an incredible location! Yes, it was definitely worth going back for. I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😃
Hi Justin, I am using the DJI Avata a lot and have changed the props a couple of times between gemfan and master airscrew. I have used the same screws from the stock props while changing but have now realised that the loctite disappears over time. Hence I believe the loctite in my screws are fairly gone and wonder if that will be a huge risk while flying and overall impact the performance? I could buy new screws but I’m not sure if I have to and therefore asked you. Thanks.
@Zpyk17 Hey there! As long as the screws are still in good condition you can keep using them. It shouldn't be a huge risk providing they are tight and you check them every few flights but I would get a little tube of blue loctite, so you can just add a fresh drop on the screw before you refit. It's fairly cheap to buy. You don't need a lot. Just a tiny drop on the screw will be enough. The tube will last you for a long time too. Just make sure to get blue loctite as that's the medium strength and not permanent. I use it on pretty much all the screws on my FPV drones so they don't come loose from vibration. Hope this helps 😃
Doesn't the solvent in Loctite break down propeller plastics? I thought that's why traditional FPV drones have unlock nuts for propellers. Your propeller can get soft and break in half
Oh gee, rub it in why dontcha! What a tough life you have! Much more dynamic flying that I intend, so will just enjoy yours! LOL Love it! Keep rockin it Sir! Congrats!🇺🇸
Me too, the droen was very wet after the flying but it was absolutely fine. The main electronics are already pretty well tucked away so it only really gets wet if you submerge it or potentially if you flew through the waterfall 😃
Justin thank you very much for all your videos you have posted on your chanel have gained of you alot . Could you please if you don't mind what is solution for gimble error on avata2 it says it needs calibration and I did it but it still as it is . Can you please tell me what can I do to sort it out .thank you very much
Amazing footage Justin!! question:Do You fly the A2 in FCC or EU mode? thinkin to get out of those dives You need every drop of torque and power the A2 got, right? br from Sweden 👍🇸🇪
Thank you! I'm flying in FCC mode using the Ham file. There is no power restriction here in Bali but the range and general signal performance in CE mode was extremely poor. FCC is night and day better. And yep haha I was pushing the throttle pretty had pulling out of some of those dives at the big waterfall 😃👍 Ah I always wanted to visit Sweden! Maybe next time I come to Europe
Hi Justin, I’m from Brazil and a just bought my first drone (Avata 2) after I discovered your channel ! Thanks a lot for all your insights. Can you tell me how you are taking the dives ? Motion controller or fav controller ? Manual, sports or normal ? Thanks lot.
Hey! That's awesome, you're very welcome! All the flying in this video was done in manual mode using the FPV 3 controller. The dives are not possible when using the other modes, or the motion controller 😃

@diegomourelle Haha that's awesome! Get yourself on a simulator when it comes and do some manual flying in the sim until you get comfortable. Then head out and try it with the Avata 2. I did have plans to make a video like that but it's unfortunately not going to be for a little while 😃
Wonderful footage. However, I wonder on the dive parts if they do justice to the scenery. It feels like the 'dive' part of the drone flight, outweighs the beauty of the location. Regardless, a very good clip and many thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Yeah I know what you mean. I think as long as there is also some complementary footage from the Mini, it allows you to enjoy all aspects. But hey, that's why we fly these fun little machines 😃
Nice dives, I'm leraning to dive with my Avata 2 as well, can you please let me know what is the camera pitch angle you used and what was the approximate speed you flew around falls?
@nuwaus Hey I was using around 25° in these dives I'm not too sure on speed I was focusing too much on the flying haha. I would estimate it was getting up to max 45 mph. Nothing crazy but it soon picks up speed when you're diving.
@@JustinBainbridgeYT Thank you for reply. I'm trying to learn those dives too but I feel my drone is too fast at flying and also while dive and most of all I want to overcome the fear :). Do you have any tips on those of maybe you can make a video about it?
@betaompay38 Hey bro! Nope still nothing. I haven't heard anything from DJI since they said they we're going to fix it in a future firmware update. I will be checking in the next update but as now it's still the same. So if you loose signal make sure to just put it to above 50% throttle. Some of the failsafe behaviour is quite weird on the drone but hey. I tried to get it sorted. We'll see what comes in the future updates
@LeviJM Thanks! There was a recent update to the regulations on flying over people by the FAA so it is now okay to fly over people as long as you are just "traversing" over them and not hovering. As long as you're being safe and not skimming their heads of course haha. Nope, no permit is needed for the waterfalls. There is one that requires a permit but I can't remember which one it is now. I never bothered as there are so many others you don't need a permit for. Just head out and enjoy 😃
@@JustinBainbridgeYT I'm pretty new to fpv and trying to get a grasp on the laws and regulations, I assumed FAA was American based therefore would the rules not be different in that regard depending on the country? cheers for the info.
@andypc14 Thank you! I only did a couple of runs down the falls. If you start the dive from close to the same height as the top of the falls, you accelerate at a similar speed the water does, giving you that effect 😃
Amazing video mate, love Bali I’d love to take my a2 to Bali and even meet you one day… but may I ask if you could address the fcc -ce issue again or updated .. I think you would be the most qualified DJI avata2 dude in the southern hemisphere… myself and others are confused about the Australian area is it FCC or ce and is there reason to do any sort of hack .. 🙏🤙👌🫶😅
@tonydrony2670 Thanks, mate! Yeah go for it! Bali is such a great place to fly. If I'm still here then reach out and we'll go fly. Bali is CE, and Aus is FCC. Just put the Ham file on the Goggles sd card to unlock full FCC power here in Bali. You can do it whilst you're still in Aus so it's all done and ready to go. CE performance was terrible here in Bali. Could only get 500-700m max before having total signal loss. With the Ham file I can now get over 1.5km before dropping below 60mbps. It's ridiculous. Definitely do the Ham file if you plan to come here 👌
