    No sugar ✅
    Easy ✅
    Short video ✅
    Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for, except I don’t have apple juice on hand so I’ll use 50/50 water and pineapple juice

    I once did applesauce out of a bulk amount of fuji apples... really sweet because fujis are like 12-13% sugar by weight but so much better than store sauce it's a crime to not know homemade

    I 've got to try your recipe! I made applesauce in the instant pot once and it was the first time I got a burn notice. Hopefully, it doesn't happen again!

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never had a burn issue and make this all the time. You just need that FULL cup of liquid.

    Thanks for sharing this method. Would time change for larger amounts? I have 40lbs of apples to preserve. Im thinking if I start them out like this, that I could finish half to make apple butter.

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there! Feel free to double, but don't fill more than 2/3rd of the way full. Keep the cooking time the same, but it will take longer to come to pressure.

    This recipe is wonderful and so easy. I was left with spiny bits in the applesauce; any advice on what I may have done wrong? Thank you for your channel!!

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It may be that the blender was not strong enough for the skin. You can blend a bit more or run through a fine mesh strainer.

    Just picked up a bucket of apples from my tree. By the time I washed them it feels like I picked 10 buckets.

    Have you froze your applesauce before and if so did you add anything to keep from browning? Thanks

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Jill! I freeze this all the time, and haven't had issues with browning. If you are really worried about browning, stir in 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice before freezing. Allow homemade applesauce to cool completely and then place in freezer-safe bags or containers and fill ⅔ of the way full. Freeze until solid. Homemade Applesauce lasts for 4-6 months in the freezer and defrost in the refrigerator overnight.

    How long is the shelf life and does it have to be refrigerated? Thank you in advance

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, because this is not canned or preserved it needs stored in refrigerator or freezer. Store applesauce in the fridge for 5-6 days and freeze for 3-6 months.

  • @alexschmidt5908

    Forgive me if I’m wrong, by using a strainer and only including the chunks, aren’t you leaving most of the nutrients at the bottom of the pot?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, some of the nutrients will be in the liquid, but not all. If you added all that liquid to your apples, the applesauce would be very watered down. It is the nature of cooking most anything.

  • @timberline1487
    @timberline1487 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    looks really soupy? Is that because it's still warm, or is this just a thinner sauce?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you potentially add too much of the cooking liquid.

    • @timberline1487
      @timberline1487 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AMindFullMom I haven't made this recipe yet. I was referencing the sauce in the video. I looked closer and I think it may just be more finely puréed than we normally do. I like your idea of keeping the skins since it means more nutrients. Will give this a try!

    what happens if you blend the apples first into a vitamix, then dump puree into instant pot and cook? Anyone try this? which is better? to cook then blend. Or to blend then cook?

    • @AMindFullMom
      @AMindFullMom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to cook the apples first, if not the texture will not be the same.
